Quick question: I'm using CBBE body; I downloaded the CBBE textures from the original mod but for some reason I only can get the effects on the head. I don't get the gloss or wet texts on the body, hands or feet. I'm using Navetsea CBBE textures. Any help?

 

You should check for the textures to be correctly installed (not enabled in ModOrganizer?).

Make sure that the effect is properly operating on your desired target.

The wetness may also be not high enough for any visible changes. Beyond your wetness start value (default is 2.0) you should see effects -though rather faint in the beginning.

You can directly set a new wetness value for a target from within the MCM menu.

To make sure the effects are running correctly you can set the logging level to -4 (most detaled) and look at the log output in the ingame console (you may need to wait a couple of seconds).

 

On a side note: Glossiness changing and head texture swapping (as these are not included) are disabled by default.

 

For better help you need to provide a more detailed description on what your exact situation is.

 

 

Pardon my tardiness and thank you for the quick reply. The thing is this: I have my player as target and the effects are on; wen the effects go on (sex scenes for now, haven't been under rain yet) I only get the effects only on the face. Nothing happens on the body. As I told you, I downloaded the CBBE textures from Sweaty Wet Skin Auto Adjustment but for some reason effects are only on the head. I tried reselecting my character and everything stays the same.

Hm... I never encountered this problem since I start to use WF Redux. Maybe because I'm using the old-fashion manual installation instead of mod managers?

Try to unpack the textures manually (skyrim\Data\Textures\Actors\Character\WetFunction) and see what happens.

It also may be some script issue caused by bad installation of new updates, but you could fix it by roll-backing to some clean gamesave without any previous versions of WF Redux installed before.

Like I said I don't have a clue to what exactly caused your problem since I'm not encountered the same issue myself. I think it helps the author a lot if you provide more info for him. Post your modlist to begin with - there may be some possible incompatibility. It also improves your chances to receive some answers from the others.

The last version (32) should have fixed this issue. (The texture path handling on models is a bit odd.) Feel free to post again if the problem remains.

For that case I added the new debug function so you can create a log file I can then use to further investigate the problem:

  1. Make sure you enabled Papyrus logging (bEnableLogging and bEnableTrace) - Edit: This can now be done from withing the Misc menu of the mod.
  2. Load up your save and open the MCM menu
    1. Select a target with the issue
    2. Go to the Misc page and dump System info and Target info
    3. Set file logging to -4 (highest details)
  3. After that, try to reproduce the problem, e.g. the change from dry to wet
    1. Be in either dry or wet state
    2. Let the game run for half a minute
    3. Change wetness to reach the other state (through the MCM target options)
    4. Let the game run for half a minute
  4. Finally just close the game
  5. The log file should be: Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script\User\wetfunction.0.log (if it is missing you did not correctly enabled Papyrus logging)
  6. Post that file here (spoiler or as a downloadable file)

One other question though: Are you using a mod manager (e.g. ModOrganizer)?

ok i will try thanks, but next week cause i'm out till tuesday.

and no i don't install your mod with mod manager but yes i have mod organaizer (just for some mod)

sorry i try following all your steps and i'm sure papyrus log was enabled but the log file of your mod dosen't show up

If you do not get any log files (neither the wetfunction.0.log nor a Papyrus.0.log in Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script) you most likely did not enable papyrus logging correctly. If you are already using the lastest version (33) and it still does not work, your installation is corrupted. In this case you should perform a full reinstall and start using ModOrganizer (on NMM) for every mod you install - this greatly helps keeping your installation in order and up to date.

I have the same issue as some other people here where only the head updates. I originally thought it might be an issue related to the dynamic normal map changer but the problem still persists on an older save that never had said mod activated. If you do not get any log files (neither the wetfunction.0.log nor a Papyrus.0.log in Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Logs\Script) you most likely did not enable papyrus logging correctly. If you are already using the lastest version (33) and it still does not work, your installation is corrupted. In this case you should perform a full reinstall and start using ModOrganizer (on NMM) for every mod you install - this greatly helps keeping your installation in order and up to date.

I originally thought it might be an issue related to the dynamic normal map changer but the problem still persists on an older save that never had said mod activated. Here is a clip of the log file seeing as I'm not sure I dumped it properly.

The problem seems to be that the armor you are using does not have the specular map textures in the default slot. If you can link me to the mod or just upload one of its mesh files with skin (body is best) I can take a better look. The problem should not occur when you are wearing vanilla armor or none at all - could you verify that?

Sure, go ahead. You'll have to perform the translation in-script though, since using SkyUI mod translation is did not work out because of its bugs. Also, please link to this mod in your post.

I did try no armor at all and also changed from the uunp special mesh to the normal uunp mesh with no luck there. I thought it could have been a issue with the node order; seeing as that's how the game handles vanilla texture changes. Here is another log with no gear equiped.

I did try no armor at all and also changed from the uunp special mesh to the normal uunp mesh with no luck there. I thought it could have been a issue with the node order; seeing as that's how the game handles vanilla texture changes. Here is another log with no gear equiped.

  1. Overlay cleaning option: for buggy overlays of other mods
    1. Replicate the problem (effect active - but only visible on head)
    2. Go into MCM:
    3. Have the target selected
    4. Use the fix Overlays on:.. (Misc page, bottom left corner)
    5. If it says Cleaned, let the game run and check if it starts working (after a couple of seconds)
  2. Always operate option: just assumes that there is skin even when not detected
    1. Replicate the problem (effect active - but only visible on head)
    2. Go into MCM:
    3. Check Always operate on slots (Visuals page, bottom left corner)
    4. Let the game run and check if it starts working (after a couple of seconds)

If neither of them work, you may want to produce another Target info dump and post it - I did add some more details that might help to pin down the problem further.

There are user with unp textures  refiect  MCM menu show  “ textures    MISSING” .Can version (34) fix it？

 

This means that the textures were not correctly installed (e.g. wrong folder). Also, they should not be packaged into an .bsa archive.

I asked them to test it. Two people said they install anything with NMM(including Requirements,Texture,Sweaty Wet Skin , Wet function redux).But only the head has the effect and texture is not working,even if only use Sweaty Wet Skin. If used Wet function redux,the MCM menu show requirements is ok and textures  MISSING.

How to deal with this case？

I still haven't got this to work I think I'm gonna roll back to a base game with maybe just a body installed and see if it works then. Oh and on a side note what version of the required files are people with a working version using? I just picked up the newest of each due to the fact I hadn't updated said files in a while.  As for a new log here is a small snip. I think this was the forced log not sure now >.< but it does list updating two additional items but I couldn't see any visual changes.

I asked them to test it. If my mod is reporting the textures as missing (and they are not even showing up in Sweaty Wet Skin), then they are not correctly installed. This can have several reasons

  • installed in wrong folder (the correct path is ...\Textures\Actors\Character\WetFunction)
  • mod is not enabled in ModManager
  • textures are actually packed into an .bsa (I don't know if NMM does this - maybe try using MO)

If the textures did not report as missing and the effect is only showing on the head, they are most likely encountering the same bug as @Arngrim11 which I am currently attempting to fix. In this case, providing me with a debug log may help me track down the bug - see my previous post.

I'm glad your problem is solved. Did you, by chance, effectively update your NiOverride when reinstalling (3.4.x -> 3.4.4 with x<4)?

I'm using the latest versions of each requirement and it is working for me.

My current understanding of the problem is that something (most likely an buggy overlay) blocks NiOverride from correctly operating on the skin properties. In the worst case this is an actual NiOverride bug.

When you actually get it to work on a minimal setup (you don't even need a different body - the vanilla one does actually work too), you could try to enable all you overlays (warpaint, tattoos, freckles, make-up, ...) you have on your normal game one by one and see if any of them (or maybe just the nth one) do break it.
