You can get the house upgrades from Pardo at the Restless Hunter without doing the quests. If you prefer to follow the story, the quest starts in either of the 3 holds mentioned in the description after you've become a thane there, which usually only involves doing 3 simple quests for people in the hold plus perhaps one for the jarl. So you can start the quest for this mod pretty early on in this game, but of course there's no point until you actually get a house to upgrade :)  You can disable the mod until you have a house or become a jarl in one of the 3 holds, and it's safe to enable it at any point in your playthrough.

Okay so I have found the "slaver's manifest" in the quest "Dispensing Justice" and I am supposed to find some slavers on the road? Ive run along the road from Stonehill to Dawnstar multiple times and Ive found no such NPCs anywhere...

You can find their camp just west of Fort Fellhammer, south south of Dawnstar.  They are camped just north off the road.

It would be possible to exploit and oppress the slaves economically?

to order: cooking food, sew clothes, brew potions?

I posted a new version 0.81. Maybe this fixes the issue with slaves becoming unresponsive.

If you have a slave who becomes unresponsive (i.e. you can't talk to them), please do the following:

  • Check if the slave still has a name. You can do this by checking the slave list if the MCM menu for this mod. The unresponsive slave will appear in the list with an empty name (only submissiveness is shown).
  • If your slave is unresponse but does have a name, please let me know!!
  • Otherwise, install version 0.81.  Then exit the house and go back in. The slave's name will be reset to "nippy" and should be responsive again.

I know "nippy" is not a very good name. But for any slaves that still have their name, the mod will now remember that name and restore it if it gets lost.

i dont see where to download the file ??? also is this my mistake or cant i buy the breeze home in whiterun anymore after installing the mod... it just stays locked

The file is there again. This one hopefully also fixes unresponsive slaves who didnt lose their name. Leave the building and re-enter it to fix them.

This turned out to be a conflict with Dawnguard of all things...

How to start the first quest is described in the first post of this thread. Short version: become a thane of Falkreath, Morthal or Dawnstar first. Then go speak to the jarl and ask if you can do something for them.

that mod really sounds amazing :)

if i get it right that Mod has only the 3 houses in riften, solitude and whiterun?

Is there maybe a chance of adding this mod into the custom houses (f.e Falkreath) or is that too difficult because of the scripts? I would love to use this mod without having to do the mainquest (and activating that annoying dragons) ;)

Some good news on this front! I worked out a mechanism for this that lets you build a cell in any indoor location to keep your slaves, or keep them in an outdoors location like a cleared bandit camp. The mechanism for placing and managing cells is working, and slaves can be left there like in the regular homes. Currently testing by keeping some slaves in Lakeview. 3 cells/camps can be placed, holding 3 slaves each.

By the way, you can get at least the Riften, Solitude and Whiterun houses without activating those dragons. I think only the Windhelm house requires the civil war quest to be completed. And once you complete the quests for this mod you can use the Restless hunter as your base; it holds 14 slaves :)

still it would be best if it would be possible to put cells in any house ... i have mod home and would love to hold slaves there... :sleepy:

Ok sorry about this question if it's been answered but it doesn't seem to be on the main page.

Do i have to start the quests or do the upgrades to the home first before i can tell a slave to stay at my home(tracked by this mod)? they are all over 70 submission level and I'm at breezehome and don't see any dialogue to tell my slaves to stay besides the 'wait here' option of course.

You have to buy the upgrade for your home before you can tell a slave to stay there. Then it will work even formslaves below 70

Sorry to bother ... but where exactly to deliver melina. The quest says i ve to get her out of town. The notice says to bring her to a shed north of the road ...... .... after hours of running throught the mountains i dont  seem to be finding it

Sorry, there's supposed to be a quest marker (really hate how those stupid quest aliases dont always get filled). Go west from Solitude for half a minute or so, at some point the road splits and doubles back up into the mountain. After a short walk you'll see a dome shaped guard post next to the road, that's it.

Map attached!

Thank you :)

Looking forward to more of your work.

I thought i saw a post earlier from you but now can't seem to find it. Did you say we can now keep 14 slaves somewhere? you said we need a key before but now it's in the new update? Is it at the restless hunter too?
