KinkyWorld for The Sims 4

Hello everybody,

I am just wondering if it would be possible to adapt KinkyWorld for The Sims 4. In theory that is of course. I am not asking if this will ever happen at all, only if it is technically doable!

One of my favourite feautes next to the animation system is the call girl thing - I love it just so much but since we don't have an open world I am not sure how it would play out. I always thought that the system which came with the Get to Work ep (for example the house calls for the doctor career) would suit perfectly for it, wouldn't it? Basically the games generates random lots for your sim and I like that to be honest. But then again: If we get an escort service (where you would go  eating and dancing first and afterwards the kinky stuff) - as I mentioned -  I don't know how this will play out.

In other words: Is the open world substantial to Kinkyworld to work properly?

I'd also like to know if animators will have to start their work from scretch or is it possible to take the already existing animations and just make them work in The Sims 4.

Greetings

Hello everybody,

I'd also like to know if animators will have to start their work from scretch or is it possible to take the already existing animations and just make them work in The Sims 4.

Greetings

Basiclly yes. Converting animations is not that simple. It like converting objects from on game to another (IE: TS2>TS3>TS4 and vice versa). Each or the games uses a different core engine and structure from managing game play to handling the 3D graphics. A simple dectortive object would first have to extracted from it's original game, then it mesh and textures converted to the new game format, then there the sizing and slot info and the interactions info to add. And that just a vase or painting that you can do nothing more then look at. For animations, they would have to be extracted, then converted to the bone structure of the new game Sim mesh and bone structure, smoothed. Once that is done, which is not as simple as it sounds and can be very time consuming, they have to injected into the target game via a mod which would have to be built. And for animations handling one then one sim/object you have to sync the animations together and ....

There's a lot of work involved and TS4 is still too new for most of the modders with the skills and desire to create these mod's to brother with at the moment. Part of it there is not a lot of general public knowledge of TS4 game resources, the core gaming machanics to reference. As more and more content and game play is added to TS4, and more and more of it internal machinic's are worked out and made avaible, more modder's with the right skills and mindsets for adult modding will start appear with mod's for it. It was the same way with TS2 & TS3.

Thank you very much for your answer. I guess this sounds reasonable. To be honest I myself am very optimistic about the possibility to adapt a complex mod like kinkymod for The Sims 4. ^^

While Sim4 show promise, it is still not there. Hey, we just got dishwashers.  I think the town is safe from the rapist and flashers for a while.  However, the minute they arrive, I will start playing Sims4 again.  Until then, I am loving Sim3, and will suffer through the loading screen to get to Kinkyworld.  :)

I guess the only problem to create a mod like that for the sims 4 is the extension mod .py and .pyo
So many modders today as Oniki need to work with this extension to be able to make a version for Kinky to the sims 4 :)

Every Sims game has eventually gotten a decent framework sex mod, its just always by an entirely different modder.  Chris Hatch and Joker were the ones responsible for the great sex system in TS2, and TS3 has Onki.

However, with any luck, whoever does make the idea sex mod for TS4, hopefully they are a loyal member of this site.  So far this site has the best framework mods for Skyrim, New Vegas, and Sims 3.

Not going to happen.

TS4 was a failure on the market, it sold like a tenth of total TS3 copies.

Also the engines are apparently quite different, so adapting a TS3 mod to TS4 would be a huge amount of work.

Investing a huge amount of work into a mod for a game that no one has would be stupid.

You know how insulting you are sounding right now? Just because YOU and many others don't like the game doesn't mean that there isn't a following for it.  "I didn't get what I want so I am going to complain and make sure everyone knows that they are wrong since they obviously have no taste because they disagree with me." (you sound like that and it's a little insulting)

While I agree with your core concept, TS4 market share makes it hard to mod since LESS people play it, that doesn't mean it isn't possible someone will do it anyways for themselves and then share it. People do play Sims 4, and some people like it more than Sims 3!

Please try to be more substantive on subjects like these, and throw out less rhetoric. People don't mind hearing critiques, but brainless bashing turns people off. You poison the well by  throwing out loaded words, like calling people stupid, because people are currently trying to make sex mods for Sims 4 to this day, and they are not stupid for trying.

Edit:

OP: Can you alter the name of this thread? It is confusing people thinking that KW exists for TS4 which it doesn't. Should be "Can KW be ported to TS4?" Which the answer is no.

Sorry if you feel my text was insulting; it was never my intention to insult anyone. TS4 may even be a good game.

It just didn't sell well. That means fewer potential modders own it, and there'll be a smaller audience for Sims4 mods on Patreon etc.

I'll admit I over-stated these points; I still think it's not very likely that people are going to make complex TS4 mods -- there'll be some content, but I don't believe you'll ever get an OCD dream like the Nraas suite, which allows one to tune every detail, or mods that turn most of the game on its head, like KinkyWorld does.

Of course I always like to check out mods people have made and uploaded here, even if I don't own the game.

Sorry for my stupid wording.

The biggest difference is that the Sims 4 is actually playable.

To be honest I think TS4 is the better game of these two (Sims 3 vs Sims 4) so I really hope some day we'll get our kinky stuff :D.

I doubt there will be any Kinky World for TS4, at least not from the current author of KW.

TS3 KW is still a WIP and it seems like it's already a big project, so many new features and bug fixes, mainly for Patreon users, but will probably be available to the public at large in the future.

The problem with having a project of even a remotely similar scope is that nobody has found a real way to make their own animations for The Sims 4 in a true sense.

Sure, pose packs are a thing, and there've been like...two or so mods that swap existing animations out with something else, but I don't think there's a mod that has legitimately added animations to the game. Once that becomes possible, then modders can start to experiment with things that can eventually lead into something like this.

As it stands, The Sims 4 is way, way, way too new to even consider something like this. I mean KinkyWorld came out within the past year, and The Sims 3 has been out for like 5 years. The Sims 4 has been out for like...a year and change. Furthermore, updates to the game consistently break what mods we do have, so it provides some setbacks for modders to take the time to experiment with more ambitious projects when the resources they need might not work in two weeks' time.

TL;DR: Once EA's updates for the game slow down, modders can work on more ambitious projects; once that happens, modders can hopefully find out how to add standalone animations to the game that aren't just replacing existing animations; once that happens, modders can start making all the things people on this site want out of the game.

TL;DR's TL;DR: Just be patient.

I've been trying for some time to find out what the actual obstacles are, recently found a little very technical information here http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=572159 .

Popularity and elapsed time are common statistical predictive metrics. Getting sex animations into TS4 is however, a singular event; and statistics cannot accurately predict anything about singular events. It'll happen when the right individual(s) has the right tools, information, opportunity, and motivation; which will happen when it happens.

As far as the actual mod/framework, NRAAS is what a potential modder should be aiming at, not kinkyworld. KW added a few features NRAAS didn't, however the mod itself is (politely) a mess, and the tone is gratingly puerile.

I still haven't made myself learn python, but from what I picked up, the issue is that EA gave us binary file formats without giving us the documentation. What that means is modders have had to go through byte by byte and guess what each means until we have a model of each file type that matches all the data. It appears we now have all but a couple of the necessary file types figured out, but there's still a lot of work left to do.

Nonsense? He was totally right.
