Is there a way I can use this body on Custom followers? Or on Vanilla followers that have been modified like Seranaholic?

if you hold ctrl when pressing build in bodyslide it will make a body nif in the bodyslide folder ..then if the custom follower has an loose install meaning they have a separate texture and mesh folder you can replace the there mesh with the one you made ..you  have to replace there textures as well ...this means you  can have i different preset and textures from the vannilla for the custom follower ...follower like sofia or recoder has two option when downloading .a BSA or loose version ..BSA version is when all the textures are in one compressed file and you cannot the replace the files ..you can edit the bsa with tes5edit to use vannila body but you cannot change the textures resulting in the head having different textures from the body and hands

even with a follower mod that has a bsa the meshes and textures can be different you just need to know what the folder structure is inside the bsa just like you can change the meshes and textures of the base game BSAs by knowing the folder structure(i.e. the female bandit follower (CBBE Curvy version) mod on nexus http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66915/?_uses a bsa) the mesh location inside the bsa for the female_0.nif is meshes\actors\character\bandit\femalebody_0.nif and to change it you just place a femalebody_0.nif in  "location of Skyrim"\data\meshes\actors\character\bandit\femalebody_0.nif, textures is the same just replace meshes folder with textures folder

if meshes and textures inside a bsa could not be overridden then we would not be able to mod s\Skyrim without extracting the bsas first

edit: if you have fallout3 or fallout new vegas you can install FOMM to view and extract BSAs

Sigh, continual problems trying to get this mod to work. I had a problem a few weeks ago when I loaded the mod on one character through mod organizer all my other characters would no longer load. So I uninstalled and just retried yesterday.

now I load, everything works fine but when I log out and back in all my skin textures go black in odd geometric shapes that go away if you move the camera closer to the body. To fix it I have to log out, open the toon, rerun bodyslide with the COS body and FNIS and then when I log in it works.

It is almost like the texture is not staying in mo=emory.

Anyone else run into this or have an idea for a reason or fix?

Thanks

I've managed to modify Selene Kate that way. I exctracted the textures with BSaopt http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/247/?, edited them in TexBlend, then rectreated folders structure according to the .bsa and put there meshes, skeleton, and textures accordingly. Everything is working fine, my files overwrote the .bsa's.

As promised here's a short tutorial on how to modify a custom NPC for COS when the mod comes with a .bsa file.

1. Download any tool for unpacking .bsa files. I am using Ethatron's BSAopt http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/247/?, but any other software will do.
2. Run your .bsa program and unpack the .bsa to a temporary folder.
3. Go to your temporary folder and find two subfolders: meshes and textures. Analyze their structure. You need to find folders which contain:
- in "Meshes": "femalebody_0.nif" and "femalebody_1.nif"
- in "Textures": "femalebody_1.dds" and "femalebody_1_msn.dds"
4. Now go to your Skyrim/Data directory and recreate the folder structure from the unpacked .bsa.
So, for example, if the .nif files were in "meshes/Lula_body/" you'll need to create a "Lula_body" folder inside "Skyrim/Data/Meshes". Do the same for the textures, i.e. if the textures were in "textures/Lula_body/" then create "Lula_body" folder in "Skyrim/Data/Textures".
5. Now you can create new body meshes with BodySlide (always remember to hold CTRL when clicking "Build" not to overwrite your default meshes). When you're done place the files in your folder, e.g. "meshes/Lula_body"

NOTE: if the .bsa contained the "skeleton_female.nif" file, you need to copy "skeleton_female.nif" from "...\Skyrim\Data\Meshes\actors\character\character assets female" to the "meshes/Lula_body" as well.

6. Blend the texture files from "YourTemporaryFolder/Textures/Lula_body" as described on the first page of this thread. Place them in the "Skyrim/Data/Textures/Lula_body" folder that you've created.

All done! Now your body files should overwrite the ones contained in the .bsa. I've been testing it with the Selene Kate mod and everything is working as intended (no issues with the skeleton either).

I also modified bodies for other, "non-bsa", NPCs, just by creating/editing relevant meshes and textures in Skyrim's data folders. No problems there (but I do always backup the original files, also for possible future edits).

I hope you find this tutorial understandable   and helpful.

To @scivirus: feel free to use and edit my mumbling as you see fit. :)

Thank you! :) I really appreciate that. I'm not always successful with conveying my meaning, but it seems I nailed it this time... ;)

First of all, I'd like to take the opportunity and thank [member=Scivirus] for his great job. At first I thought "Well, great, all this looks fine, but what am I gonna do with all those custom NPCs, Universal Body Changer, Everybody's Different, etc. that I'm using". And it turned out to be no problem at all. Yes, I spent several hours creating body meshes and blending textures. But it was all worth it. Really, [member=Scivirus] did took care to make edits as easy as possible. Kudos! :D

would you make these compatible with SG o.o

it is compatible with any cbbe texture because it adds to the normal map it would be included with texblend files in the next update

Quick question, great mod by the way. I currently am running 4 characters through skyrim, yeah way too much time on my hands, and I wanted to try this mod out on only one to start. I am not too up on how the body textures in the game work. If I follow the installation as provided can I run this for only one character or do I have to apply it to all characters I am running?

If I can load it for only one character how would I do it?

After running bodyslide I am not getting any mesh or texture files in my overwrite (oh yeah I am using Mod Organizer) file so it must be writing to the main CBBE files directly. Which means all the characters will get it doesnt it?

Any help would be appreciated.

it's a base body. and the mesh will only appear when nude. so, yes. it'd apply to all characters. it looks just like cbbe when wearing armor, so i don't know why you'd only want it on one char. anyway :P

Any help would be appreciated

it's a base body. and the mesh will only appear when nude. so, yes. it'd apply to all characters. it looks just like cbbe when wearing armor, so i don't know why you'd only want it on one char. anyway :P

theoretically you can if you use custom races ..if you replace the the mesh of cos for one of those races you can .then replace the base body to something els ..but why would want to ? will have problems with conflicting armor sets

So all or nothing then. That may be the cause of my blacked out body textures. If this mod and CBBE work out of the same texture pack (per say) then different characters would load both into the set and the game gets conflicted.

Makes sense I suppose.

I was thinking that you could generate a separate "mod" or "set of textures" that you could load on a character basis but if no then I'm good. I will try doing a generic load on all characters and see what happened.

Thanks

Can you make vagina textures for argonian lizard as well? I'm using lizard textures not chameleon that's why. Thank you for doing this if possible.

Still hoping to get argonian lizard vagina textures for a future update...
