I swear sometimes I stumble across other mod sites, and words cannot describe how much I long to get back to the layout of the nexus. Hell, if it wasn't for the nexus, my Oblivion and Fallout experiences would not have been nearly the same.
Etc Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I like the nexus. Just plain like the nexus. Not completely true at all, everyone has their gripes. But, I do like the nexus. The nexus has first and foremost introduced me to the world of Elder Scrolls modding. Without those first baby steps I took on the nexus as a lurker, my game wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable. Would I have found other places to go? Probably not honestly. Because of those first steps I learned about making my own outfit mash-ups, modifying textures and making my own custom content on my own. I can mostly thank those skills to my second reason for liking the nexus. I have met many wonderful people who I have become good friends with thanks to the nexus image share. I wouldn't consider myself an artist in the least bit, but I share this hobby with many other people. I loved looking at everyone's pics and posting my own to hear feedback on them. It felt like a nicer version of Deviantart honestly. Unfortunately, I always stayed away from the forums because, they just make me a little uncomfortable. The nexus forums are huge and intimidating to me. This does feel a bit more cozier though. Lastly, I like the nexus...because I learned about the other modding sites from it. I learned about LL because of the nexus. I learned about TESA because of friends I met on the nexus. It was my gateway into this community, always will be. And I couldn't be happier.
gregathit Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Etc, is correct in that it is a good source of mods (new and old) and for many, it serves as a gateway to other content that folks might not find otherwise. With all the shake up in file hosting services recently, if it were not for the nexus, then many mods might become incredibly hard to find.

True story! And high-profile members actively help the good-hearted moderators to find wrongdoers to ban by baiting them in the chat and then reporting them. That's what I call support!
