I regard myself to be one of the relics :) RND has been the only survival mod I've played myself aside from iNeed, which I've installed to evaluate.

 

Are u done with the Interior of the sleeping area? Cause if not i had another Idea for stool related humiliation.

 

Yes, except for lights and navmeshes. However, I always appreciate sharing of good ideas. I just can't promise whether or when I'll be able to incorporate them, but I always love to hear what others might have in mind. So, please don't hesitate to share them if you have such an idea.

Well i was thinking of a way to encourage the player to keep mining even after one has met the dayly requirement (i mean after 1 or 2 day one should know the amount of ore one should mine). So if the slaves where put in cages instead of a cell when going to bed u could put a cage above another (i think there where cages with bars in the bottom instead of a solid floor) ... and the slaves with the higher output would have earned the right so sleep in the upper cage, interrupting ur sleep in the lower cage once or twice a night due two the warm rain from above, if used with private needs possibly with animations.

Thanks for the idea. However, I'm afraid it's something cannot be done without some difficulty.

 

First of all, I don't think there are such cages that can fit in the space I've assigned as the sleeping area while stacked vertically. (By the way, the slaves' quarter is not the same one as the guards' and it's already included in the previous version)

 

And with vertical cages, it's hard to make slaves enter or exit them without teleportation which would look quite unnatural.

 

And a guard needs to be able to enter the cell to wake the slaves up in the morning, so if he pops in and out from one cell to another, it might break immersion. Also, we'll need to give player opportunities to talk to all the slaves if we're going to add some storyline in the future.

 

While I much like your previous idea of introducing such a theme, I'm afraid we might be pushing it too far if we decide to add another one at the risk of sacrificing the immersive factor.

 

Sorry I couldn't use this idea, but I'll definitely try to implement the first one, since it can be done with relatively smaller efforts and I like the idea myself.

Fantastic mod! I really like the atmosphere and the branding scene was sooooo good, even if it was mostly implied through sound effects. 

 

I had my slave tatts flicker a bit and even appear before I'd been branded, but I've had a few problems with the Slave Tatts mod not working with Apropros as well.

Not play an otherwise brilliant mod...? If you add this stuff, can you make it optional, like the shaven head? ;)

Seconded. If this sort of stuff goes in, I'd highly appreciate a toggle for it. This mod got a lot of potential, but I don't want to get exposed to stuff that gross. I would find it sad having to wipe it off my load list because of it, like I had to with Slaverun when the creator added these super gory furniture displays.

Don't care for the piss and shit ideas either but don't judge if others want it.  If it's at all possible please allow a toggle function in the MCM.

It's decided then :) I'll make sure to add an option to toggle such contents.

 

Fortunately, it's lot easier than the case of introducing an option to include a gay theme, which number of other people have suggested before. It would involve too many changes in dialogues (i.e. "Stick out your breasts!"... er... I don't have them!), punishment options (i.e. wooden pony on male PC! :blink: ), NPC designs, etc.

 

I'll still introduce some bestiality and water sports theme into this mod. I'm not too much into either of these themes out of context, but I think it could nicely emphasize such feeling of degradation which is one of the main themes of the mod.

 

So, my plan is to make them doubly optional so that even if you don't toggle it off in MCM, you can still avoid your PC from being involved in such actions if you choose it.

 

For example, the peeing scene can occur occasionally and not exclusively to the PC. And when it happens to the PC, you can choose not to eat from the spoiled trough as skipping a single meal won't probably kill you with most of survival mods.

 

As to the bestiality scene, I'll make it as one of the options to earn additional food as with brawling, dancing, giving an oral BJ, performing a lesbian act, etc (all optional in MCM also).

 

Probably those events will be chosen randomly in each meals. So, if when the bestiality option is chosen, the PC can choose not to volunteer in which case one of other slaves might replace the PC in this role.

 

Thanks much for the feedback! I really appreciate those kind of inputs whether they are in support or in opposition of the suggested contents.

Interesting idea. I'll probably replace cabbages with raw meats later, because the current selection of food items for a slave's meal looks like some kind of an organic vegetarian cuisine.

 

By the way, raw beef is actually quite delicious if it's served right. I know, it might make me look like a babarian, but in my country, raw beef (marinated with raw eggs, sesame oil, and other seasonings) is considered as an expensive side dish.

Status Update

 

I've added a perk system to differentiate mining performances between slaves. Previously, mining efficiency was determined by random stamina values only, which proves to be insufficient to cause any real differences in how many ores each slaves can mine during a shift.

 

There are 5 different perks which incrementally add small bonus to time required to mine an ore. The player starts at level 0, so probably won't be able to mine more than one ore during a day.

 

It'll cause the player to be subjected to various disadvantages, like whippings and deprived meals. However, as the player mines more number of ores, the perk level increases till it reaches the maximum level.

 

Currently, number of ores required before reaching the next level is just the square of the level number.

 

For example, when you're at level 0, you only need to mine an ore to reach the first level, then you'll need to mine 4 more to reach the second level, and so on.

 

I believe, once stealing ores became a viable option and when I'll add such dialogue choices which might earn favors/pity from other slaves to share their food with the player, this initial disadvantage won't be too much of a trouble.

 

For now, other slaves have a fixed perk level from 1 to 4 (except for the smelter girl, who's at 5) which is roughly equivalent to the number of ores each can mine during a shift.

 

Probably it'll require much tweaks before it hits the right balance. Maybe we can introduce other kinds of perks later to make the gameplay a little bit more interesting.

I love the idea of this mod and will toss out a way to engage the DB (and thus the player) with a story based in the mines.

 

I am not asking for this specifically, this is only a suggestion for a possible relationship quest progression that could lead to a marriageable follower (specialist lightning mage – week in stamina and health but strong in mana) who may help in an escape and be willing to follow in any adventure the DB may have.  As the player advances in mining skill this NPC becomes the lowest performing miner.  This leads to that slave suffering more abuses, etc.  Let’s call this NPC “Treva” for this discussion.   

 

Setting Up Treva with the DB

As mentioned above Treva is a specialist lightning mage from the College of Winterhold, she has a lowered stamina (50 or 75 perhaps) but she makes up for it in the mines with skill (Mining perk 3). 

 

Treva does some nice things for the Dragonborn.  For example:  

  1. On the first day of abuses and hard labor Treva engages the DB with some friendly conversation on one of the breaks.   
  2. On any night when the DB is denied food Treva shares some of her food with the DB. 
  3. When the DB advances to the first perk of mining a forced dialog occurs where Treva advises the DB on how best to strike the rock to get ore: “Aim for the cracks, then give your pick a twist before pulling it out.” This gives a reason for why the DB starts to improve.
  4. She may even intervene when one of the guards makes an unwanted advance or one of the prisoners tries to jump the DB.  

 

In any case a small level of trust should be established prior to the following.  Once the DB reaches the third Perk of mining Treva starts falling behind on production of ore. After all she has been here a while and is being worked to death.  To make matters worse for her this leads to Treva getting whipped and abused, eventually denied food, etc.   If the DB does not do something Treva will eventually die.

  1. The Dragonborn could give Treva enough ore to avoid a beating, perhaps even taking a beating herself for low ore count.  (+1 to +2 relationship).
  2. The Dragonborn can share food with Treva since she is on lowered or even denied rations. (+1 relationship)
  3. Someone steals some food (it doesn’t matter who) Treva is blamed and is going to be tortured and raped – in her weakened stat she will die from this punishment.  The DB is given the choice to watch her friend die or confess to having stolen the bread and suffer the torture and rape herself. (+3 relationship)

 

By this point Treva will happily sleep with the DB and the DB will have completed all the steps needed to marry Treva.  Also, during any confrontation or escape attempt Treva will have the DBs back.  Once the PC and Treva escape the mines, Treva engages in a triggered animation of a standing hug with the DB (I’m at work and don’t have access to the animation names) and one more forced dialog which can end with Treva following the DB or with Treva Returning to the College in Winterhold where she can be found idling in the Library.

I really love what you have suggested so I'm going to adopt the story almost literally, including her name. We still have lot of things to do before I can start developing the dialogues, however I'm going to do it eventually and I suppose your plot is exactly the right kind of backstory I wish to give to each slaves.

Status Update

 

It turns out that modding Skyrim seems to be much more time consuming than I initially imagined, so I'm currently balancing it with my real life works.

 

The works for the next alpha version is about 70% complete. And I hope I could release it before the X-mas next week.

 

Today, I've almost finished working on a scene to take slaves out of the mining area to lead them to where they're fed.

 

Each slaves then undergoes a brief 'cavity search' before her hands are bound again and exiting the mining room because... well... let's just suppose that guards don't want their precious gold ores to be stolen by slaves B)

One thing concerning Morriscat's idea though,

All the prisoners are gagged so they can't talk to eachother. Not normally anyway. 

Maybe the dialogue in the mod could be altered in such a way it sounds like someone is talking with a gag in. 

So for example a sentence like "what are you doing?" could become "wha ahh yuhh hoing". I would love to see something like that. 

But if that's too much trouble you can always use Zenet's GagQuest mod.

Thinking about your mod today, SOT.  Had a thought to share, as the mod develops I hope you find a way to make the experience a bit varied or maybe add choice, not that they have to be good choices!  I had just gone through the Captured Dreams Thalmor Embassy quest and as well done as it is repeating the quest a few times and it gets a bit tired.  Reading what morriscat suggested and liked it, maybe have multiple paths that could lead to different results.  Not knowing where you are taking the mod so I don't want to go overboard with ideas, just a general thought to make your exceptional mod have replayability.
