xarathos Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Cross posting this from my tumblr: This is my attempt at a lore friendly (hate that phrase) realistic (much better) conversion of the bethesda steel armor to the sevenbase body proportions. No boob plate, no ridiculous bits… just armor that looks like armor. The pauldrons have been made into separate meshes so you can delete them or move them to other armors in Nifskope. And just for interest sake, I made the formerly pauldron-less steel armor into a more ‘gladiator style’ asymmetrical version. The idea being, with a sword + shield, you have the most armor between you and your enemy, while your sword arm is less restricted and free to move + strike faster. The side effect of this making the female version more ‘armored’ looking than the male one (for now) is not lost on me. I’ll probably tweak the male version to match eventually. Since, as I mentioned, the pauldrons are their own shape now - if you decide you disagree with my gladiatorial approach, you can always open it in NifSkope and delete the left pauldron. I haven't touched the boot or glove meshes or anything but anyway. For the 'total conversion' pack, I think this is the approach I want to take with the heavy armors by default. Or close to it. In any case, here's a Mega link, and I'll upload it to the armor workshop shortly. Uploaded.
xarathos Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Mod Release Original Mod: Crimson Twilight by BloodFree on the Nexus. Download + Endorse, then replace the original meshes. Everything was converted - coat, curaiss, boots and gauntlets. You'll also want one of the ESPs I attached, because I made the boots HDT heels, and added Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade support. Both the Light and Heavy armor versions have been fixed, so choose whichever version of the ESP you prefer. HDT heels is the only new requirement. Uploaded! Edited October 30, 2014 by xarathos
xarathos Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 In progress. Thought you might like a preview. Gloves + boots need to be adjusted to avoid clipping. Might add the dye framework to the red leather bits. We'll see. So far, so good, tho. I smoothed out a few problem areas on the mesh and did it vanilla style with no body inside to avoid risk of clipping/file size. Finished! And uploaded.
xarathos Posted October 30, 2014 Author Posted October 30, 2014 I've uploaded a tweak to the Huntress armor restoring the desaturated textures by default and setting a default dye color; this should improve dye manager support and make the color output closer to whatever the dye mix was. The default color is as close to the original as I could match on short notice. If for some reason you'd rather not use the dye framework (and really you should be using it, it's awesome for everything it supports), you can always replace the textures with the originals. They're still in the BSA, just in a subfolder. The ground mesh uses them. Bonus screencaps of Anna showing it off:
xarathos Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Decided to redo my Hmm What To Wear conversion in 3DS now that I've got a better handle on the tools. I'll post updates as I feel comfortable with their quality. I did the original conversion in Outfit Studio and ... well. Frankly, it has issues. Some pieces are fine, others need a LOT of help. The 'shrouded panties' in particular are a bit of a mess. Anyway. Going to make a better version now that my skillz have improved. Expect that.
xarathos Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Going through the folder alphabetically and reworking everything. So far so good: the fur skirt is weighting better than it used to, which is nice, and I think I've improved the fit of just about everything I've touched so far. So far I've reworked the bandit and blades folders and started on the dark brotherhood folder. Took a few screens.

And when you feel up to it I'd love a conversion of this Seraphine Armor. Please. Thanks for all your amazing contributions and for sharing! Seraphine Armor - Cleavage BBP-38402-1-2.rar
xarathos Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 I've had my eye on the Seraphine armor for awhile - I'll bump the priority up a little and take a crack at it next time I hit a breaking point. Started on the ebony conversions - doing things in 3ds is going very nicely, running into a few places where the originals had unweighted vertices that wrecked stuff in NifSkope and skin wrapping the meshes in 3DS Max is able to get pretty consistent results ... may have found a new trick or two that'll help with the vanilla conversions when I go back to them as well. We'll see. I may have to redo my Devious Devices conversions as well... we'll see how I feel when the Hmm What To Wear stuff is done.
spartan40 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 thank you!!! Looking forward to the Ebony converts!
xarathos Posted November 2, 2014 Author Posted November 2, 2014 A few shots of the dwarven and ebony pieces. Gotta fix a few issues here and there to make sure stuff within a set doesn't clip with itself, but overall much happier with everything - especially the skirts. Dang.
xarathos Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 Okay, beta time. I'd keep going today but frankly my wrists are cramping so I figure I'll upload the current version of what I have done on the Hmm What To Wear reconversions and let you guys tell me what all I've missed before moving forward. This zip includes the latest meshes for the fur, blades, dark brotherhood, dwarven, ebony, and imperial parts. Just install it over the top of the existing version. I also included an updated master ESP with one new addition to help with testing: a chest that contains all the parts. You can find it by typing "help hmm" in the console, then spawn it with player.placeatme When I've finished converting the whole mod I'll probably pack a new BSA and everything. Anyway, here 'tis: Hmm What To Wear - Beta Update.7z
Buddy Christ Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I have already found some problems with your HWTW conversion beta. All the armor maskings can not be upgraded at the workbench (that was a problem with your previous esp as well, so I kept using the esm files from the original mod) I used the hmm chest and put on every masking, they switch the body to the UNP body without bounce. (I think, they are the ones from the original mod) Funny side note: it probably has nothing to do with your conversions, but if you give a masking to a male follower, it changes the used slots from 32 to 32,52 (And I was wondering why Lydia suddenly ran around without panties, after giving her the armor masking back, when Erik had tried it on ) Thank you very much again for your great work and sorry for my "negative" report (which in no way is meant in a negative way, as you surely know )
xarathos Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Ah, okay. I hadn't tested the maskings but I can fix that. Nothing I did SHOULD have changed the temper recipes but I'll confirm they're pointing to the right targets. Made a note. I thought I remembered to change the mesh used by the masking in my original conversion, but I'll make sure that gets included in the next beta update as well. The slot assignment thing, I'm guessing is an SOS Full issue - the scripts set anything a male character wears to use slots 32 and 52 by default unless you tag it as 'revealing' in the MCM. I'm considering switching to the Lite version at some point I've gotten so miffed by the behavior... But eh. Neither here nor there. In the meantime at least SoS also gives you a workaround.
Buddy Christ Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Good to know about the work around in SOS Can't wait for the next version! Happy to test again
xarathos Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Okay, I have NO IDEA how I lost the temper recipes for the masking, but GornGrimm THANK YOU for pointing that out; I'm going through the ESP and redoing those right now. That's... that's kind of a critical goof on my part for which I can only sincerely apologize. What even. EDIT: esp is fixed, attaching this here. HmmWhatToWear - Fixed ESP.7z Added temper recipes, and ... you know what, easiest thing to do: changed the path for the armor masks body mesh to just use the body mesh you have installed, which, if you're using this, is probably 7BO. Tested both changes, seems to work fine. Had a rough couple of days - think I'm coming down with something. But at least I got this much fixed. xD
Redking52 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I don't make many requests. Like none lol. But if you would do this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59451/?tab=4&&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fcomments%2F%3Fmod_id%3D59451%26page%3D1%26sort%3DDESC%26pid%3D0%26thread_id%3D2233239&pUp=1 as soon as possible that would be awesome! I just can't use anything but this body replacer and this armor is too good not to use, so I'm stuck lol. Thanks very very much!
xarathos Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Believe it or not Redking52, I had my eye on that set the moment it went up on the Nexus, haha. I've got the Seraphine set I'm finishing up and after that's done... I'll see what I can do. and then of course there's finishing up the hmm what to wear refresh and all the other requests I've been keeping on the back burner aaaaa
xarathos Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Uploading uploaded the first version of the Seraphine conversion. Lemme know if there are any serious issues!

Make sure to get some rest if you caught some bug EDIT: So, I tested the new HWTW fixed ESP and guess what: It works great! And you even fixed something I forgot to mention When wearing the Steel Plate Masking, the necklace wasn't showing (not sure about other maskings, only realized it when wearing the SPM). Thank you very much!
xarathos Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 I'm about to upload the Tembtra thief conversion. Converted the torso, boot, arm band, and leggings meshes. Download the UNP version of the original, then overwrite the meshes. And the ESP; I added breakdown recipes, CCO keywords, and a chest you can spawn if you feel like cheating to get the whole set at once. The condition of needing the crafting manual is still there, for now anyway. Uploading uploaded!

Redking52 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Awesome dude! Thanks for the Tembtra conversion! Didn't expect too see it so soon. Do you just post your mods here or are other people free to contribute? I haven't done any conversion for about 2 years but I'm thinking of tackling a project here soon.
xarathos Posted November 8, 2014 Author Posted November 8, 2014 Ha, I wasn't expecting it to be that soon either, but it turned out to be easier to do than I expected it to be. I've just been posting mine here but if called upon I suppose I could add an "other contributors" section or something? Idek. I hadn't really given it much thought honestly. If people want to post stuff I'm sure we can arrange something. Alternatively if other people were uploading new 7BO content elsewhere we could have the threads link to one another. Depends what's easier I suppose.
Martianman Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Is there a chance you might convert the Craftable Panties Bras and Stockings for CBBEv3M by goTha mod from the nexus? I'm having a hard time finding this kind of clothing for 7b. What I mean is that this mod has stockings which cover the feet as well as the legs, whereas most stockings just cover the legs and leave the bare feet. If you could convert this mod that would be fantastic!
