Guest Donkey Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 i doubt it. It will always look for steam, if your not using steam it will not work. the moment the creation kit opens you will auto see steam loading in the background.

It seems to pause Steam DL's when open. atleast you can get to 22%... I get steam servers are too busy to process your request. Then I figure ok... I'll just poke around the CK a bit while I wait... ck refuses to open. A quick update... It seems the CK has the very same issue as Skyrim itself... neither will run when EVGA precision software is active... >.< I need my custom fan profiles to keep the gtx 580 classifieds sli cool! Have you tried changing your download region?Steam/Settings/Download+Cloud. I'm using the San Diego server and averaging 600Kb/s with a peak of 2.9 Mb/s

Opening any steam "thing" will pause its downloads. Found that out the hard way trying to play one game while waiting on DLC to download for another.

It would not let me start the download after I added the DLC content so I got frustrated and restarted my pc and my modem, as soon as the pc booted back up it had already started downloading. Those that are getting the the server too busy message try adding the DLC, go all the way through the extra windows and click finish button. then exit steam completely and restart steam. It should automatically start your DLC download, although dont expect to have a super DL speed atm as I can't even imagine how many people are trying to grab this stuff up atm.

Easiest way is to click the "view" and select downloads from the dropdown. If you dont see anything downloading exit steam completely (make sure it is completely closed) then restart steam. Your quick launch icon should look like an sd card now. That means its downloading.

Looks like it's all sky, armor, building, object, effects, animals, terrain textures were updated. Wait, let me change that. Head textures were updated, but I'm not seeing body. Though they might be hidden in the mishmash of stuff.

CBBE, and all the others conflict with them I just finished testing while talking to the doctor on the phone. I like the new high res textures, but it wont work right with the body mods we have. I just unticked the high rez texture packs. They give me strange lags anyhow.

So now body modders have to label their bodies as being either high quality supported or not? This will only serve to confuse the modding fan-base. Bethesda can take their high quality pack and shove it.

Video cards with lots of memory are becoming the norm, so having high texture packs and pretty stuff will become common. AI works, kinda, sorta. But not with bodies, for run of the mill stuff if you're looking for a fix, it'll fill the gap until a more permanent solution is figured out. But since most modders seem to release both highres and lowres textures for bodies this doesn't seem too much of a big deal, at least not from my end.

So now I've got at least another three and a half hour wait while Steeeeeam! installs my HiRes update and at the end of the day it's a fucking waste of time, money and my soul is a little tainted by Steeeeeam! contact. 3Gigs and it takes HOW long!?
