Usually it should be the other way around never play well on your first match you will only raise expectations. It always better to really start badly and then gradually become better during the match to shift expectations from your team. This way there will be less pressure.

This is how Spain played every game in 2010 (except against the Swiss of course ) They had almost 75% possession and the US only had two (half-) serious shots the entire game. I don't see why they would risk getting yellow cards, injuries or easy goals against them in a game that would only have mattered if either team would have lost with more than three goals difference.

It was no game of shame aiming for a draw, but also both teams didn't play too dedicated either (though at least our side did their utmost to totally control the game, which they did good enough against this weak US team) All in all the germans are deserved winners of the group stage, pity for Ghana (but as I heard they destroyed themselves internally anyway the last couple of days) and not so much pity for Portugal. USA was an okay team and its okay they advance. Yeah, I am content with the results

Is this true? 9 internatinal matches plus 4 months. But it will cost him alot more sponsors retreat and his price as footballer droppes posible cancellation transfer to barcelona.

Russia never convinced me in this tournament...So the most funny thing during the match for me was to spot some female fans in the Algerian crowds ... ^^ Not many I can tell you Ah well, Algeria, a beatable task for Germany on monday
