Kazyn Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 Alright, instead of trying multiple, various ways to resurrect a hackable and flammable wall of web without it being able to be walked through, maybe someone who's got some experience in handling destructables might be able to post what is needed to make it possible... anyone?

This sounds like it could be an issue with the actual equip of the web, rather than the mod, though. Can you confirm that the web is at least appearing in your inventory? player.showinventory in the console should work if you can't open the menu.
Ghuraok Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I've got "1 CocoonSpool - Equip (...) Equip" and if I keep up struggling in vain I hear it equiping a different one : "1 CocoonSuit 3 Equip (...) Worn", so yes, it's appearing and switching with the different stages. It's seems to work well on every other races, Khajiit included. I don't use any mod that modify especially the argonians. I just have to showracemenu my character to another race to get it to work instantly. I guess it only happened to me

You might have to ask in the ZaZ animation pack thread for that one, because all this mod is doing (and the old arachnophobia mod(s)) is just equipping the appropriate web equip on the character in question. IMO, the main issues with the mod are that any spider can wrap any PC with one hit and secondly I'd prefer something more immersive than the popup menus. I found that you can make the spit take two hits to wrap someone by adding a requirement to the 'WebAttackME' effect of spider poison 'kzyZaZAPcrSpiderSpitFFAimed' == 1. I'd also add a speed malus as in http://www.loverslab.com/topic/12302-arachnophobia-by-miss-leeches/?p=276892 so that it gets harder to escape the spit. I poked at trying to get it to take serveral hits for smaller spiders to wrap someone, but it was a little more difficult. I think you'd have to have a sequence of effects with conditions on the preceding effects to make it work right. Another possible effect for such a list is a poison resist malus. Another possibility that comes to mind, instead of using the magic strength wait method, why not make getting wrapped in the first place require low stamina, magikca or health percentages, and perhaps ramp up the stronger poisons (more stamina drain add magicka drain) to give bigger spiders a better chance at wrapping? I'd still probably put a slow or poison resist debuff on the spit as well... Finally, it seems a bit odd that once escaping, you aren't hindered by lingering poison, web wrap, and such... One thought that came to mind here is perhaps making the player's hands bound, or an extreme speed reduction when escaping confinement. This could also be a devious devices type effect where you can't remove some stuck on armor without the poison or some other trick. Hiding gear or saying 'your backpack is stuck shut' is another possibility.

stlbatt Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I have tried all your versions, and it does not work!!! I would like to see it work as in the video but nope. All the spiders do is fang bite, poison, legslash, but NEVER have they spat at me and receive a message that i have a few seconds to escape, the only message i get during combat is that you've been poisoned. I even tried staying just out of there leg reach and hoping for a spit but they just stand there waiting. Maybe Breton-Vampire characters are immune to your mod, too bad the video makes it look more than it is.

You make some good points, and while there will be changes to the current features, I need to first ensure that the core of the mod is working correctly. There are many bugs that still need to be worked out, so I can't promise any real balance until those have been worked out.
Adam Jensen Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Great mod and concept! Everything seems to be working smoothly on my side, that said, there is definitely some balance issues. I use skyrim uncapped so my one handed is around 115 and illusion as well, thus I escape every single time.

I'll give it a try (I have AFT so I might just try with a new game) as for the optional punishment, you could put that the character might have been saved from being spider food by a follower or something like that? that's all I can think about

It makes sense, I know why they do it, but it sure knows how to be frustrating to remember each and every little bit. I'll add that to my list of things to update. Thanks for pointing that out.

I had one ended up following guard, the next one the game crashed leaving the zone until I turned Arachnophobia off. Seems to only happen when the player is cocooned and the follower kills the spider.

Do not have any follower mods installed, just cosmetic stuff like Crazy hairs and NPCS of Dibella. They were vanilla followers. I do have Immersive Creatures installed that might effect the spiders. Error one occurred west of Whitehaven in Skyrim - spider webbed the player and then the follower shot it out with the spider until the spider died. The follower then walked to an NPC and began following the NPC like it was the player. Error two occurred in Ustengrav. This time it was the player and the follower shooting it out with the spider and the follower taking multiple web hits. After that I couldn't zone out until Arachnophobia was disabled. I do note the follower never seems to get webbed. Probably should solo more, since the follower always seems to come to the rescue lol
Kazyn Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Currently (and it's in the mod description) NPCs are immune to webbing until I can further investigate the cause of CTDs occurring when the player is captured and taken to the spider cave while another NPC (follower or not) is webbed as well. I, too, don't use any sort of follower mod either, so when I wrote this, it was with the single follower only in mind. With that said, there are still some issues that I'm investigating when it comes to how the mod handles and processes followers. Also be advised that currently, spiders will prioritize other threats before webbing the player further. If no threats remain, the spider should approach the player to begin further entangling them. Finally, let me reiterate that the mod is currently particularly unstable with followers. With one, it should work fine, but you're also not the first to report many problems with the mod when it comes to having even one follower. It's a work in progress and I hope I can find the solution to these problems soon. In the meantime, thanks for being a champ about it and providing me with information regarding the various bugs that are present. It's what beta testing is all about.
killer3000ad Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Mod works fine as long as you don't try to spawn the spiders with placeatme command. Tried it and the spawned spider just stands around and won't go hostile but it's no biggie, plenty of caves with spiders around. I do think however that the countdown before you get eaten is kind of short. Also when you do get eaten, you don't see any spider attacking, you just ragdoll at the end and die. I know it's too much to ask for this early in the mod, but instead, could this be changed so a giant spider appears and starts nibbling at you and your HP and stamina slowly drops and more options to escape appear before your final death? Also any chance of adding voice affects like the dialog that humanoid enemies say when they are near death and crawling on the ground?
bleeb Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 not sure if this was fixed yet, or brought up, but with 0.9.5 installed, my follower still isn't getting ported when I get captured, even when she's nearby. just bringing it up in case it was supposed to be fixed by now EDIT: just caught up on most of the thread now, seems the follower thing is still an issue for others aside from me. but what about when you get cocooned in the lair? are you supposed to suddenly go nude? looks like it did that to my character
