Lobzpooatu Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 So you've had a hard day at work/school, got issues with the friends and family and all you want to do is zone out so you don't go mad?! Well this is the place to share the things you do to take your mind off of everything. Maybe we can all help each other find a few new ways to help deal with stress in a none destructive way. My number one thing has always been being creative. I like to take parts of each of my hobbies like drawing, music, video editing and modding and mix them together. For me doing this is like doing all my favorite things at once without getting burned out by doing just one of them.
Vancien Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 To relax and take stress off I enjoy working out, creating art, writing or just simply being outside relaxing. If the weather is nice that is. Right now its rather cold, but I have conjured up several fires this year and sat outside tending to it for a while. It's nice at night time. In the summer however, I spend several hours a day outside enjoying nature. I also enjoy playing video games to blow off steam. Such as war games that allow me to kill other players without repercussions since it's a game. Battlefield 4 does a pretty good job of that. More than anything though, to fully relax, a glass of wine when I drank. I quit drinking but listening to soothing music helps a lot. I just posted this same mix in another thread but the entire channel is good. PatroleumJellies I also play guitar or spend some time playing with my dog outside too. I also very much enjoy grilling some fine meats outside on the grille and preparing a feast for a king to enjoy. And of course everything is nicer when shared with company of friends.
Guest Omega1084 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I like to read while listening to some soothing music. Usually when I get home if I've had a bad day I play Skyrim and that helps me relax a lot too. Sometimes I dance around like an idiot and sing[terribly]. It's fun. There's also playing with my cat, she's probably my biggest stress reliever and I think the only cat I've ever seen that likes to be walked like a dog o.O
gvman3670 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I like a few tokes of cannabis then getting into something creative or going outside and wondering at the grandness of nature. This always works for me. Without fail. Then I eat well and sleep like a baby.
Lobzpooatu Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 Love to go fishing when I get the chance. Something about those 5am mornings on the lake watching the sun pierce the fog. Priceless.
Guest Omega1084 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Love to go fishing when I get the chance. Something about those 5am mornings on the lake watching the sun pierce the fog. Priceless. I love that! Heading out at 4am, getting on a boat and watching the sun peek through the horizon and bring the new day. It's amazing. If rent wasn't so awful by the beach I'd have a house there and get up at 6 every morning just to watch the sunrise.
Captain Cobra Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Downloaded a bunch of A. Loomis books and have been learning how to draw. It's pretty fun.
LordJerle Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I watch a lot of porn. Less stressful than a relationship and my hand doesn't argue when I tell it to make me a sammich.
Lobzpooatu Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 Something else is watching animals do their thing. Wake up make a fresh pot of coffee, sit on the porch and watch the squirrels fight the blue jays for territory. I have a couple of little dogs as well and it's funny when I walk them and they sniff each others butts all the time. It's like whyyyyy? I mean you've done it a thousand times so what's new? Hahaha ahhhhh puppies. Lovem.
Shocky Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Since I live in a rural area I usually go for a walk in the forest, lie down next to a tree and listen to 'the sounds of nature', sometimes I bring my phone and listen to my favorite songs instead. When the weather is bad, I just stay in my room and be creative in 3DS Max,do screenshots in skyrim or just hang out with my friends on teamspeak(actually I do that everyday xD) OR play some games.
...0... Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 My PC and games and movies/series. No real other hobby's last few years. 20 years chess but quit becouse of constant stress i could not sleep keep analysing in my head so i quit. Guest xthejester Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 I drink. Find a lady to play with. Play videogames.
Brigade Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 1) Step outside. 2) Fuck Goat. 3) ???? 4) You know the drill.
Spartan 363 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I jump into my baby and go for a nice cruise with the T-Tops off and listen to her 500+ HP LS1 V8 engine roar I also like going to the shooting range and shoot with some friends after a long week of work. Also gaming too, lol. This video is not mine, but that persons car has the same exhaust setup as I do along with heads and cam to have just about 500 HP, also note that it's a LS1 Chevy Camaro, same engine, transmission and such as the Pontiac Trans-AM, that's why they're called the F-Body twins, my car scares people, lol
Lobzpooatu Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Awesome car man. Always loved that body style and the wheels look pretty good on it too. OT I also like to clean lol
AKM Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Sailing. One of the best days of my life involved three friends and an evening sail. Light wind and just listening to the water on the hull while enjoying the company of people who felt likewise. As Lobzpooatu said, being on the water is the most peaceful place I can find. Forest is a close second, but I don't have any big ones nearby where I can listen to nature without the interruption of humans' noise.
ТigегШооd Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Am I the only one here who lives for the excitement my type of work provides?

Oh, I almost forgot : complaining about my job/colleagues helps me relax too !
xartom Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Take a nap, for me that's the best thing to erase stress.
Cynical Misanthrope Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Depends. Sometimes I just play guitar or play a game. Other times I roll a giant one, and sink into philosohical thoughts. Take a nap works too.
