Malicardy Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Maybe someone can help me out here. I'm in the process of recruiting RL-3 and I'm looking for the alternate method to acquire him. However, it seems my only option is to spend the caps. Is there some sort of prerequisite to get that option I'm missing (or passed by)?
SerialSnackBob Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Did you get the dialogue option "Simulated personality"? Sounds like trouble? If you choose that option (karma being neutral), you get the dialogue choice for the alternate method. Also, if you haven't had enough sex (at least 20 times) you can't get him. Your PC also has to be female.
SerialSnackBob Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Did you sleep with moriarty to get the info on where dad went? If you didn't, I don't think you have the option.
M0d0ut Posted May 29, 2016 Posted May 29, 2016 Wow, just finished the Lab quest, and I have to say it was alot better than expected; great work. Anyways, I got one major questions; are there interactions with Davison and Fucker in the Mojave Wasteland? It'd be pretty cool if there were or even if Fucker was a companion. Thanks

Thanks I don't see in the code that Tomm had any additional plans for Fucker, but Davison is a character from base NV - he's in the Repconn basement and leads the Nightkin there. Thought it would make sense for him to have follow-up dialog, which he doesn't.

Bummer that there is no additional dialog, maybe in a future update?
Loogie Posted May 29, 2016 Author Posted May 29, 2016 I have a lot on my plate right now, but we'll see. I currently have it open in GECK, so now's the time I guess.
Loogie Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 I'm going to make more improvements before rolling out an update, but I changed Davison's dialog slightly so he at least recognizes you if you did the Lab quest.
Malicardy Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Did you get the dialogue option "Simulated personality"? Sounds like trouble? If you choose that option (karma being neutral), you get the dialogue choice for the alternate method. Also, if you haven't had enough sex (at least 20 times) you can't get him. Your PC also has to be female. So just an update on my problem. I tried again to get the tinker joe scene, this time with neutral karma and never got the "simulated personality" dialogue option. My PC is female, I've had sex more than 20 times. I'm not sure what else could be causing it to not show up. I removed TTW encounters mod because that seemed to interfere with some things like Moriarty and his stealthboy thing. Is it maybe not showing up because I have the caps to pay for it?
SerialSnackBob Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 Caps shouldn't matter based on what I'm seeing in the GECK. The "Simulated Personality" dialogue option comes from the base TTW, so if you don't have that option, then there might be something else up. If you get an option that goes along the lines of "You just don't want to sell to me, is that it?", then there's an issue with the karma or you have another companion taking up the slot.
Malicardy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hmmm... so after I say "I'd like to buy a robot," my options are "That's alot of caps, but I guess it's a pretty rare find," and "You just don't want to sell to me, is that it?" I get these two options with or without another companion. Nowhere in these two conversation branches do I get anything along the lines of "simulated personality." The first option gives me the option to pay or say "I don't need a crazy, robotic soldier following me around." I don't have any mods that alter anything to do with tinker joe, other than maybe the TTW No Karma DLC Followers esp. I'll try with that disabled and report back, but I don't know what else I could be doing wrong here.
SerialSnackBob Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 The "Simulated Personality" option should take precedence over the "You just don't want to sell to me." If you have the "You just don't want to sell to me" option, then there is something up. Do you have another companion with you? That might do it. if that isn't the issue (I don't know whether the TTW no karma mod changes anything), then I'll check again with GECK *Update: looking at the TTW mod, it looks like they may have accidentally set a condition to an "or" instead of an "and", making it impossible to recruit RL3. If you have the GECK and want to make a patch for yourself, load up the TTW mod, look up in the quest tab FollowersHireRL3, open the quest, go to topics, choose FollowerRK5Purchase2B, select the third dialogue topic, go to conditions and untick the first condition's "or" box. Save that as an esp with whatever name and it might work. Or I can just upload it as a separate patch thing, wonder if they fixed this in the up to date TTW, since I haven't updated mine in a while. Update 2: looks like others online are also having issue with getting RL3 in base game, so my suggested solution may not be correct.
Malicardy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I've tried with and without a companion, human and dog. I would try the GECK thing but as it stands I'm GECK illiterate. I tried without the No Karma mod to no effect. Having gone through my list of mods again I'm thinking its possible the My Home is Your Home mod could be doing it. I'll try without that next. *Same result after removing My Home is Your Home. *Also, I am using the latest version of TTW, I can still hire for caps, just can't get the dialogue that leads to the added scene. Not game breaking by any means, just strange.
SerialSnackBob Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hmmmm....is it possible that TTWQO is using the outdated TTW and therefore having some issues? PC is female, karma inbetween evil and good, no companion...I don't see why the simulated personality dialogue option isn't showing up. You fulfill all the conditions.... Actually, it doesn't matter what gender you are, you should still be getting the simulated personality option.
Malicardy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 It's possible. the main page for this mod says TTW 2.6.3a but would they have changed something so drastically that it wouldn't work? I'll go through the change logs for TTW and see what I can find. * I took a look, and the only thing I could find even remotely to do with RL-3 was "Fixed RL-3 not liking your Karma in the No Karma optional" which has been ruled out from being the issue. There could be other changes that weren't in the logs perhaps.
SerialSnackBob Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 You wouldn't happen to have dogmeat, Rex, ED-E, or any other type of creature following you, do you? If so, that might be a reason. RL3 is considered a creature and therefore needs the creature slot to be open if you want the conversation topic. *Update: I tried the RL3 option on my game. I got the Simulated Personality dialogue option, but didn't get the TTWQO option that's supposed to appear after. Looks like we have differing issues here.
Malicardy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I get the same issue with or without a creature follower. I'm at a loss.
SerialSnackBob Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Hmmmm...I could try uploading a version where the dialogue option is an immediate choice. Not sure if that would break the immersion, though as it is it seems we both are having issues. *Edit: Give this a try. There should be an option when you talk to him. Note, should. If there isn't something showing up, then I have no idea why it isn't showing up in your game. TTWQO RL3 Patch.esp
Malicardy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Woah! Awesome! I don't worry too much about my immersion. I just wanted to check out all this mod has to offer. I'll try this out as soon as I get a chance!I gotta say, you've been extremely helpful, so thank you very much for that! *Yessir, the patch you made works like a charm! I can't thank you enough for your willingness to work through that with me.
thedude5000 Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I m getting a crash after I surrender in the beginning of the lab area during full of good intentions quest . I also made sure i was not using any non ttw or sexout necessary mods . and I m running the 4gb patch .
sexxy117 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 anybody know about a supermutant oberflo? was talking to that guy in charge of the family and he said about robert reporting the supermutant and for me to go there, but don't know where to go.
SerialSnackBob Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 That's in the TTWQO Addons And Patch, not the base TTWQO mod. Oberflo should be out near the sandbags where the Family lookout (Robert) is (he's the guys who tells you to stop when you are in the metro). As for the lab quest, I'm not familiar with how the quest runs, so I can't help there, sorry. I can take a look at it with GECK, but your best bet is probably to try it again if you haven't already.
valcon767 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I have a information request in the form of 3 yes/no questions all relating to the "My Baby Blue" quest (due to raider being my normal best early source of equipment/caps/exp) 1, does it affect the raider in the DLC The Pitt? 2. is there a maximum number of raiders you can kill (before starting) and still do the quest? 3. is there a maximum numbers of raiders you can enslave after completing the quest before they become hostile? ( I did catch a single raider all by himself and used mesmetron on him successfully first attempt and they did not turn hostile is reason I am asking) if anyone answers these questions please do so in just a yes/no format (I don't want to know specifics just general information). thanks for your time. and to the mod creators/updaters let me say THANK YOU for all the great work.
