Tentacus Posted August 20 Author Posted August 20 I thought this review was kinda funny. Nope I'm from the US midwest, though I do speak rather bluntly like my German friends. If anything Japanese culture had more of an influence on how I approach kinky media (Anime specifically... stuff like Cool Devices and Urotsukidoji) Though I will say European comics as well. One of the posters in my Steam discussion forum intuitively picked up on that influence. I also learned something interesting. Regardless of the language you leave the review in... it will post as being in your system language so get rid of the language filter if you want to see all the english reviews.
Tentacus Posted August 20 Author Posted August 20 For those of you who've played... Who's your favorite character? (Without getting too deep into spoilers please) Also obviously not just limited to who is in the picture. There are plenty of interesting characters not shown.

The experience leaves a mark on her no matter what. I posted this in the Steam forum but I should have put it here as well: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some tips for enjoying the game Legacy of subjugation has been designed in such a way to maximize the player's ability to roleplay (within the limitations of the medium and being largely a one man project) To that end you are encouraged to play the game in any way you like... This is why rollbacks are almost never blocked and for most (but not all!) big choices there are ways to nudge Sofie's fate in a different direction even late into the game. With that said... I suggest that you treat it as more of a roleplaying experience than a game to win. While some (but not all) stats become visible after a certain point, it's probably best to try not to minmax and to instead play Sofie as the character you think she should be the first time through, even if the consequences potentially lead to a bad end. Not every ending that seems good will be... Not every ending that seems bad will be either. This is a complex story with complex consequences and fallout. As with any VN, I suggest you save early and often. Saves from the demo should work as long as they are from before when the Mistress arrives. If you use saves from the very end of the demo it may cause problems with music playback in the ensuing scene. However you choose to play it... I sincerely hope you have fun. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So basically, Sophie is going to be somewhat broken by the experience no matter what but the stats in the game are a very loose kind of guide and some of the message of the game is that people aren't just a combination of desires, and traits and that they can sometimes overcome them and sometimes not. Tentacus Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 The reviews remain 95% positive! I made another ad for social media. I'm really happy with it. 1
Tentacus Posted August 29 Author Posted August 29 Another social media ad and a new trailer on Bluesky:
sewersider Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Heyya Tentacus, just wanted to say enjoying it muchly so far. I'm about 4-5 hrs in. For what its worth, the game runs flawlessly on steamdeck. Cheers for the game. That oubliette scene was grim, but worth it for the chance to let Sofie get her own back even for a moment..

Hey, thanks! Yeah, I tried to balance catharsis with the grimness wherever I could (and vice versa). Valve actually ran the Steamdeck compatibility tests on their own last week and it should list as verified any day now on the store page. (Which also means Steam machine compatibility too) Had one guy on Linux get a crash but I'm pretty sure I fixed what caused it in one of the patches. Edited August 30 by Tentacus
Tentacus Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 (edited) Hey guys. Reviews have stalled out again. I am insanely happy that it's 95% positive with 25... but all it's gonna take is a couple of cranks to discover it to ruin that so if you've played the game and enjoyed it... especially if you've beaten it, I'd really appreciate if you could leave me a positive steam review. Doesn't have to be long or deep, though I'd love that personally. I read every review even the ones I have to translate. 🙂 Here's another new social media ad. I cheated a bit this time and reprocessed the raw renders to look slightly better. These scenes in the game have a lot more visual artifacts in the shading than I realized but it's not terribly noticeable when playing so they won't get redone. Thankfully I've gotten a lot better with this shit for the next game. Edited August 31 by Tentacus
Tentacus Posted Wednesday at 04:18 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:18 PM Minor update for typos is live, plus the game is now officially verified on Steam Deck. Here's another ad I made for social media: 1
belegost Posted Thursday at 12:48 PM Posted Thursday at 12:48 PM (edited) Shit man, I've only now stumbled upon this thread. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I rarely scroll down past Skyrim section. Anyway, if the game is really as you described, I'll skip the demo and buy it straight away. There's almost no games that are not shy about non-con, exploitation and truly dark themes, without pretending they're not made for kindergarten. I'm actually surprised that Steam let you publish it. I've played some of your mods, so my expectations are set very high. Hope it delivers. Judging from the comments I should probably be grateful I don't live in Germany, since I can see your game with no issues. EDIT: I guess one other reason I've not seen this game appear previously on my radar when browsing Steam's adult section, is the fact it has LGBTQ+ tag, which I have filtered out. I'm usually fine with that kind of stuff, even though it's not my thing, if it's done tastefully. Heck, Tales of Androgyny is one my favourites, even though I'm not into futas and sissies, because ultimately it's a very good rouguelike underneath all of that. The reason I've filtered that that tag out long ago in the first place, was because of woke mainstream AAA crap and certain other things that's been force-fed down my throat even though I never asked for any of it. Maybe I should reconsider... Props for Szopen. It's eerily fitting. I'll never again look at Mazurka the same way again. Edited Thursday at 04:42 PM by belegost
fred200 Posted Thursday at 02:38 PM Posted Thursday at 02:38 PM @belegostTrust me - it is worth the investment. You will like it based on what you said.
belegost Posted Thursday at 05:21 PM Posted Thursday at 05:21 PM (edited) Is there a way to permanently hide the stats once the game proper begins? I found myself chasing particular scores instead of just playing. If not, it would be cool addition to have a perm-blind mode, if you ever decide to do an update, where your stats are hidden all the time. It would make a much more interesting... experience. First, thanks for buying the game. Sadly, given the way I implemented things that'd probably be a major rewrite. If I think of an easy way to do it I'll consider it. but I'm going to be quite busy over the next few weeks. I likely won't have visible stats in any of my games going forward, or maybe 2 or 3 at most. My next one doesn't have them but it's also a bit more linear. I fell in love with the fidly-ness of how it looked in early development but honestly I don't feel like it adds as much to the game as it costs in terms of added development time.
