Sonic Racing: Crossworlds

This thread has gotten so big and fast (no thanks to that Discord/GameBanana drama) that a couple of people seemed to have missed the post from a few pages back where I knew why Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds received much attention from NSFW artists, I'm just saying it's indeed unusual for a Sonic game to be modded that much.

Anyways...

No one has asked for this. I don't even find him attractive. But practice is practice and someone has to give him an "accurate/on-model"-style nude mod so...

I was mainly agreeing with ya on it, I can see how it looks like explaining.

 

Also, maybe a more accurate piece for Sonic might do him better imo, to give my thoughts. Out of those, I'd say the 5th one looks the best, unless the first one is suppose to be a sheath, then I'd choose that one personally.

Sonic, for me, depends on the artist if I think he's attractive or not. I much prefer Silver, Tails/Nine, and Infinite in terms of male characters.

Ya know, all this outrage makes me a little proud to say I was the first ever to make an NSFW Sonic mod in general.

Or at the very least, the first 2D NSFW Sonic mod. I think the only ones that might predate mine are Alon's Sonic Adventure mods.

No evidence, but there are some people who have the same notion as him, and he's clearly the most passionate about not mixing Sonic and NSFW, and I assume they all talk and discuss it with him, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had any influence on them. While Mania's rules are relatively new, like within a few months, other games have had the "no NSFW" rule for a bit, but Nock is def the cause for CrossWorlds's drama.

Considering they were leaning into allowing partial nudity and some NSFW, then Nock threw a massive hissy fit over all of it on Twitter and in the public channels on the discord, then all of a sudden they flip flop into not allowing anything, pretty much shows they catered to him imo. Despite the fact he's done more then enough to warrant him being kicked off the team.

 

While there may be no physical evidence, its pretty clear that he was the reason for it imo. Even if Zor comes out and says he wasn't, I'd have a hard time believing it solely due to keeping him as a moderator when he has shown he cant handle being one.

Nexus has similar issues, but more political in nature (example: Spiderman had a gay flag and there was a mod that removed it and simply added an American flag [ol' stars and stripes] and nexus had it removed under justification of hate speech or something to that degree. There have been similar other cases with the site and the usual "This looks like a minor, there for it is" situations.

 

Other sites are harder to navigate (Forums like here where its a thread and mods get lost in the sea of posts), Dependent on someone to keep the mod up itself (DEGmods and Umodder are not site dependent but relies on mods to be hosted by uploader and may contain game sections that don't have any mods so its just a black page), or are....host to other questionable stuff (lolicons in general don't really have a decent option without being judged for their preference in the fictional world so if you found the original Sage mod, then you know what the other side of that place contains and thus why its not really a good option. If you don't know, then just know its not a decent option for mods in general).

 

GB, being as big and readily accessible as it is, is just the most convenient spot to upload mods with the best visibility and ease of access to feedback for mod creators.

That Spider-Man mod, all it ACTUALLY did is set the game to use the MIDDLE-EASTERN version where alphabet stuff is conveniently absent since they don't tolerate that stuff.

In todays day and age under 21 could be considered too young still. I see many 18-20 yr olds still behaving like a young teen and just not getting it. Could you put an 18 yr old into a mod position? Sure they are legally of age. Would it be wise to? Not so much. A mod should be over 21 and show they can handle the responsibilities and be fair to everyone. You need some kind of vetting to be able to dtermine wether or not they would be a responsible mod.

I don't want to ask for too much, but multiple models of NiGHTS with different genitals would be nice to have for the ones who prefer different. I'd do it but I have 0 idea how to mod Unreal games, or use blender at all.

Also on a semi-related note, am I the only one who doesn't care about the gamebanana shit? There's multiple sites for nsfw content already, no need to go up and arms over one site (and especially a fucking discord) banning it outright.

The problem with that is those sites mostly all have their own problems that make them impractical, and that thanks to a minor being where he doesnt belong, people have been getting harassed outside of gamebanana or the discord server.

The kid's actions are putting more than just one site in legal danger, and since GB is the most mainstream modding site, them defending his actions and siding with him set a very dangerous precedent.

The problem comes down to Gamebanana being one of the biggest hubs for mods and allows NSFW for a lot of games but for some reason this is the cutoff point despite other Sonic games allowing them until very recently, Nexus is being anal about NSFW mods and this site, while fine for what it is, can be confusing to navigate for mods for certain games. There's no real convenient hub for modding that isn't wishy-washy with NSFW rules and seeing how GB is the "easiest" one to use and permits them the most, people are fighting the hardest for it.

GB is currently banning any NSFW related mod for Sonic now. Nexus has also taken down a few NSFW mods for Crossworlds. And there's no other major site for NSFW modding.

So those "multiple sites" don't really exist. LL is the only good place for NSFW, but its not as easy and accessible like GB is. And no one wants to search around for third party sites that could potentially harm ones PC, which wont have any of these mods at all due to being obscure.

 

There's Thunderstore/R2modman, but that also has a ton of issues as well, coming with baggage for Thunderstore (Overwolf) and not having that big of a library for games.

People are fighting against it and rightfully so. Inaction is not always a good thing.

Yeah, again, we're talking about a literal child. You shouldn't be surprised he would be an arrogant moron when given power.

There's still a chance for him to fully grow up, mature, and humble himself in a few years. Being mad at him for being a stupid kid is reductive.

What we should be angry towards are other people that let's letting him be a moderator in the first place. There shouldn't be any form of nepotism whatsoever.

Apart from the other mainstream modding site that is Nexus which has its own problems, not really.

Other sites are either too obscure, too niche or specific for other games, or fosters a community of hateful people if the site allows all offensive content.

While I have my doubts on whether that flag mod was done in good faith, this indeed wasn't the first and only time that Nexus has removed mods that literally used official content from region-specific or other/early versions of a game so yeah, fuck Nexus. (I'm so pissed they removed the restoration/uncensor mod for Ready or Not.)

I'm not sure if an accurate hedgehog penis for Sonic would be really appealing.

I think most people would prefer a humanoid penis, or sheath / common animal penis if they're furries.

 

Also, I can't tell if people don't really care to see Sonic's junk or I accidentally posted right before the next page, but I have a feeling all this discussion about the distribution of NSFW mods is overshadowing actual discussion about mods for this game including their development. All I can say is keep pumping out those mods and eventually things will fall into place. Adult content normally needs a place of its own and eventually one will manifest if there are enough mods of it and for enough characters.
