Funny you should mention. I actually got to witness the moment Nock got kicked from the actual "GameBanana" server, not just the CrossWorlds one. I thought perhaps he just went offline, but it was apparently the moment he got booted, lol.

And yes, he is also absent from the CrossWorlds server.

I'm surprised he went quietly, considering all the commotion he made. Better he take his leave quietly anyhow, imo. Shows a level of maturity at the very least.

No? Nock's still in the CrossWorlds Hub.

Not that it really matters, I just don't want him to moderate the game's hub at GameBanana.

that is why i tend to avoid mods posted there and not use them unless i can be provided access outside of twitter

Here and Reddit are the only places I comment. Only reason I even have a Facebook account is it was required when a game I previously played was brought back by the original developer in 2015 after Nexon NA intentionally sabotaged the game cause it was more popular than their own games.

My only concern left on this matter: isn't he the main lead for Crosspatch? You think he might get pissy and stop development on it (Not that its actually needed to mod, but it is very convenient)? I don't think he's that immature but given the past weeks....his actions don't exactly show promise. Just a thought anyway.

If he does he does, not gonna say mod managers are "easy" but i'll say they are easy enough for someone to make for a replacement. All it really is truly is just something that stores a copy of data you input and outputs it into the correct folder/deletes it from the folder when unchecked. (might be a bit more naunce than that, but that's the rough basics) They are not hard to replace. (skyrim has like 4)  There just already exists a pretty good one atm so there hasn't been a need.

Personally, unless its a game like Fallout/Skyrim where a mod manager is pretty much needed, or a ease of access thing for mods outside the game, like Baldur's Gate 3, I don't really see a point in them. Yeah they're useful but I much prefer the freedom of doing it myself and all. That, and most games that can be modded easily usually have a steam workshop, and/or a mod folder in general.

I haven't used Crosspatch nor do I expect myself too at all, and I have a pretty decent amount of skins for Crossworlds right now. If its as easy as a drag and drop, I don't think a manager is really needed imo. The only useful thing about it is the auto updater, but I don't mind doing that myself anyway. Especially if the update breaks something, I can just wait to update.

mainly they are useful if you want to swap back and forth between mods for the same char. otherwise drag and drop is plenty fine (i dont use it either to be fair)

That's a good idea!

Having the additional option to download everything would be convenient for some people as well.

Before I upload my stuff to the download section, I want to do a quick revision of my mods such as slightly improved topology of the model and uncompressed emote graphics, and maybe something more.

Turns out you can transfer UV mapping from one model to another on Blender which is very helpful.

If I couldn't, this is what I mean as to why I was hesitant to make a fully pink body version. There'd be a seam like this:

In this case though, this is not a texture seam, this is a topology sharp seam intentionally marked by me when I made the peach belly which I can easily undo.

Also, is the nipple colour good here?

Just Bringing This Mod Up Again, I think animation mods would be such a cool idea to throw out here, i can't imagine they're too hard either, taking this mod as an example, the dance animation used is a free one that was just imported into crossworlds.

On top of that, that new Vanilla mod uses entirely custom animations itself which is so rad, so if anyone wants to shoot some ideas and actually go and make some, the thoughts there.

Some sexualized poses and animations while charging at the start or drifting on any of the characters would be awesome!

Guessing that's a mod loader? If so, the game is real easy to just load mods manually, as it's a UE game.

Agreed, plus the "mod loaders" just makes a copy of the original folder to the mods folder and if you want to disable the mod, it just delete the copies from the mod folder in the source game folders, doesnt work like the usual mod loaders

Oh, this one just puts copies of the folders directly into the game root? it doesnt intercept and change the data when its launched? So it's literally just drag and drop then with this particular one.  interesting. That runs the risk of it fails to delete the folder your stuck with having to delete it yourself. Odd choice if i have to give my opinion.

It was a consistent bug reported by users for like 4 patches. Current one is stable, but am still concerned on how it actually works cause it will still show conflicts between mods I have  configured to avoid each other.

Example: Riders Amy still gets conflicts with the Honey The Cat Mod that is almost done. (could just be how the game is set up. I think the Text files are basically compiled into a singular file causing any changes to show as conflicts. Could be wrong tho)

It also sometimes won't detect conflicting mods until I install an unrelated mod sometimes.

Yeah, probably best to just load them like UE .pak files and such then if it's that buggy.

Really? I thought it worked similar to ModOrganizer2 or R2modman, I didn't think it was that bad.

This is why I much prefer manual installs.

Oh my god, it happened again!

Okay, once more because feedback would be appreciated and one response isn't enough:

Usually I wouldn't repost this but this thread is going so fast that nobody even bothers to read the last couple pages anymore.

I know the tricky distribution of NSFW Sonic mods is a hot topic right now and has relevance here, but remember that this thread was originally meant to be showcasing mods for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. We know very well at this point that:

  • The CrossWorlds Hub banned users for being part of NSFW server even as lurkers which is appalling, but that's a while ago and Zor admitted that's a poor choice.
  • GameBanana hub for the game refuses NSFW mods despite inherently having tools for filtering and managing NSFW mods which is baffling.
  • One of the moderators is a minor whose attitude clearly does not fit the role of a moderator, not to mention it's illegal for him to be subjected to NSFW content.
  • Said moderator is justifiably upset that his mod has been edited by another person without permission, though he doesn't own the rights for the character/assets.
  • There's also a likely case of nepotism as other moderators or even admins of GB might be covering for that insolent minor.
  • There's hardly any good alternative sites for hosting our mods. Again, Nexus has recently being a pain while other sites are either too obscure, too niche, specifically meant for other games, or fosters a community of hateful people due to allowing distastefully edgy mods.
  • LoversLab is our best option at the moment but this thread has gotten so big and active that it became harder to find mods here if it's not recorded on the index or uploaded to the new downloads section (thanks Ashal) due to the discussions about the aforementioned topics above.

I mean, you all are free to continue the discussions above if necessary, but please try not to overshadow on-topic discussion where modders like me desire feedback with the same conversations that we know already.
