...0... Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I play skyrim sinds launch but with breakes for 1350 hours. Im not a gamer that play main quest and say ive beat the game as some say:P Ive also played in the last 1.5 year DayZ for more then 1000hours. At moment i mix Skyrim with DayZ standalone sessions and play chess on chess.com. This way im still not burned out and keep playing.
h38fh2mf Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I have the same thing as OP right now. So I try to think of a complicated modding thing to do instead. And I also play chess on chess.com
Lovely Rose Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Oh glob, dayz. last time i played that game a hacker kept finding me soon as i spawned and one hit stabbing me.. XD i played some metal gear rising and beat sleeping dogs, before i continued playing fallout haa
Sir Artsy Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I haven't played skyrim since.. Well, i beat it in early 2012 go to the point where i had to either kill or let that dragon live. I found dawnguard dull and never got latest. If i make new char and try to play the game.. I can't progress past riverwood because i go "meh" -qqq I only use both skyrim and oblivion mostly for poor mans poser/photography now.

Sir Artsy Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 That depends how far you modded the game. My oblivion looks just as good as skyrim/better. Pretty magic shaders are one thing but with enb and improved textures. Ob doesn't fall vary far even tho it has just as shitty stories
hryh23k9823u Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Well, november 2011, that's techically 2 years and two months. 3 years for my point. But you gotta add how old the game was already in many aspecs when it was released. If it wasn't for the mods, it would have eat shit 2 month after the release. Modding it is fun, playing more than a couple of runs, is not fun at all to me.
cornbreadtm Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I like to rotate. Like I'll play FONV TTW one day, then play Skyrim, then Oblivion, then Morrowind. There are things about each game that I really like, so when I feel that one of the games is lacking in a department, I play one that did it better. I do have days were I have more fun modding the games than playing them.

h38fh2mf Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 It's true combat is so boring, that's why I always play assassin type characters, the sneaking makes combat fun and if you're successful you only need one hit. It would be really boring if I was just to run in and fight like a normal person.
Lovely Rose Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 i tried being un sneaky, i found i couldnt stay amused intill whiterun.. lol so i became a sneak acholic. i picked upthe bows (as i love sniping stuff in any game) ONLY THE BOWS i can stay amused with. why? the knock down. XD hit someone in the forehead, the do a double back flip than their friends are like WHA?!?!?!
...0... Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Im a real RPG lover and skyrim is not just one run its a open world to discover with no real restrictions. Unless you play like crazy in 2 months 15hours day you maybe see half of game? Or you just don't like skyrim but only for modding, ok i understand. But skyrim if you realy play the game it takes more then a couple of months to discover all and do all quests. Just run main quest and then say you have beat the game and see it all is bit silly the least. Its offcorse for everybody different, myself i try play it very hardcore from day one i jumped into game only knowing it was released i don't use wiki's or any walkthrough cheat or easy mode to go through skyrim i did know nothing at launch when i start playing. I play without hud and map plus fast travel maybe 5%. Exploring i love it and skyrim world is perfect for that. Now i use Skyrim only for making shots and try modding it so its beautiful don't realy play anymore like i did in first year. And if your bored with games like skyrim i suggest playing other types this game prolly ain't for you
gvman3670 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Just run main quest and then say you have beat the game and see it all is bit silly the least. That's the truth! I've literally played this since the day it came out. I've ran through with many, many characters both on XBox and PC (all of them ending up at levels 75-180+). YET I still find things I've never seen before. Seriously. Cool little easter eggs, new items sitting in weird places, new dungeons/caves/mines. I find it hard to believe that ANYBODY has actually completed everything in Skyrim. I don't think it's possible. I play it more than nearly anyone and I still haven't done it all in this game. I have a friend who plays it more than I have and he still finds new stuff, too. We sometimes compare notes so we can each find these new things.
dje34 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I didnt know this day would come. But it did. Ever since launch i would skyrim, and now i have loads of mods enb etc. But now whenever i enter the game, i would just become disinterested and quit. When i start a new game with different ideas of what i m going to do(installed requiem recently byebye skyre) i would just play for 10min before losing interest and quit. I still have many mods to play and also several major questlines i only played once or twice, but i just cant find any more interest. Is this overplaying? Has it happened to anyone of you? I'd say if you're tired of playing, start creating ! First, you will learn a lot of things from Skyrim you cannot imagine when playing, then it is much more a challenge and you can learn a lot about game development, last it is useful for a lot of people, not only for you ! You could have good ideas and make them become reality !

Don't forget many played skyrim on easymode and then claim its unchellenging and boring lol Try play it with hardcore mods installed i'll bet they quit after few hours broke there mouse and keyboard in the process Btw Skyrim did something good others wise would they have selled so far 23MILLION COPY'S all platforms combined offcorse?
gvman3670 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I remember reading they sold 7000000 copies in the first 6 days. That's just ridiculous!

Redflyingmonkey Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It's funny, I was actually thinking I'm getting bored with Skyrim the moment I read your post aha ! I just nuked all of it, and I'm going to install it again with some fresh mods I've never tried and see if I get interested again. It's pretty damn annoying to get bored now after spending more than a month remodding all my skyrim on the new computer ... I'd say the same thing as the others tho, try out other games or even stop playing for a while, pick up a book when you have free time or a sport. Or a girlfriend if you don't have one already. I swear to you, spend an entire week with your girlfriend and you'll miss video games like never before. Aaaaand I've just found the cure (or the poison) for my boredom.

Lovely Rose Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I tried my best to describe skyirm *shrugs* Lol

The combat system in Oblivion is barely a step above that in Morrowind in all honesty. I don't see how you can have a problem with Skryim combat and not with Oblivion. I've played Oblivion for at least 5000 hours over the years and absolutely love that game. But don't let inaccurate memories get in the way. It's a huge step down from Skryim.
...0... Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Dungeons from skyrim are ALOT BETTER then oblivion many different dungeons huge and great looking not like the boring always same dungeons in oblivion. This don't mean Skyrim is best it have its share of problems and its badly made concerning bugs. Skyrim is still a step up from Oblivion in so many ways. But argue about taste is useless if you like Oblivion more then Skyrim thats good as long you having fun it don't matter what game you play.
gvman3670 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I lose interest in Skyrim, or any other game, the very first time my character gets killed. It's just the realization the dozens of hours I spent in the game treadmill are next to useless. What's the point of all the effort and time spent if one of the enemies can kill my character with a single hit? What's the point of getting those rare artifacts or brewing those potions and poisons if the enemies hardly notice their effects until you are so far in the game that actually you can best them with melee or ranged combat? If I could alter the game mechanics, I would: - Make rare items deadly, independently of the skill of the user, being enemies or the player himself. That means if you spent one hour fighting a boss creature for its unique armor or weapons, when you finally vanquish it you get those advantages, no matter how skilled you are in their use. These legendary items should be in the hands of equally unique foes and not be featured in any leveled lists. - Make poisons deadly. If you spent hours honing the craft, you should be able to concot deadly mixtures that will severely cripple or kill most enemies outright. No enemies should be able to resist effects like "weakness to poison" "weakness to fire" etc. That means you should be able to poison vampires, undead, etc. if the potion includes the "weakness to poison" effect. - Disable the "homing to target" of wounded enemies. If an enemy can't see you when hit, they shouldn't be able to start closing distance with your character. I saw a mod on the Nexus that added bleedout damage to archery attacks. As an archer and bowhunter I love the concept since that's how bows actually kill (through blood loss and hypovolemic shock). There are other combat overhauls as well. Other than that I don't see where your issues are coming from. I have no problem killing baddies at all. Are you playing on Legendary with a new character? I probably wouldn't suggest that. I also take my character through a "growing phase" at the beginning of a new game. I make potions and smith items out the wazoo to get some skills up (for better potions/poisons and tougher, more effective armor/weapons) before I go out on major quests or big trips exploring the countryside.
