In this version, I added several new features, notably a "Interact with Prostitute" convenience interaction to find working prostitutes and interact with them, as well as a new "A Night's Diversion" task contract for landless adventurers to entertain rulers. For more information, see the description and change notes. In addition, I added a new complementary mod "Carnalitas Historical Prostitution Doctrines" that enables such doctrines for all faiths.

After 50 years of vanilla observer mode, I never get more than ~200 in the entire world (much fewer in anyone's diplo range), and the number is stable after that. The interaction filters only "working" prostitutes, not all characters with the Prostitute lifestyle traits. Most spawned prostitutes stop working after a few years for various reasons (e.g. they join a court) with the default Shunned doctrine. To have such a high number of working prostitutes, you are probably using other mods that modify prostitution in some way, or your default doctrine is Accepted. Note that your faith doesn't matter, the faiths of those prostitutes do. Unfortunately, the game has issues when more than a few hundred characters are found by a custom interaction. There is nothing I could do except limiting the search range, similarly to how I do it in Travelers via a game rule.

Hiring prostitutes from china or central africa while living in scotland is a bit unrealistic^^ Prostitution is accepted in my doctrin but not everywhere in the world. Yes, since you can only make love to someone nearby and if it's not on cooldown (unless you disable these via the game rules), and invite someone who would accept the invitation. To see why you can't interact, target the character and check the tooltips of the greyed out interaction. The purpose of this convenience interaction is really mostly to find working prostitutes, since without it it's quite hard. It will not allow you to interact in ways that are not possible via the normal interactions.

You could consider limiting your diplomatic range (to default or "Restricted", if you can interact at such great distances yours is likely "Unrestricted"). This will also immediately help with the performance issue.

As I mentioned, my goal was to be able to find them. If you are a landless adventurer, you may want to go to them, and then invite them as guests (using the Travelers interaction). If you want to Invite to Court, use "Invite Characters to Court" (again from Travelers). If you want to Make Love, use the "important action".

christ81douglas Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 thanks for the active support of your mod I'm not playing around as prostitute so I probably not gonna download this, just wanna help reporting, the link for version that used for ck3 1.14 & carnalitas 2.8 is dead, maybe kindly re-upload it or direct it to the correct version like your other mod yesterday also I got a question, what is the benefit for owning a slave prostitute other than to help us relieve stress? I mean I have wife or concubine for it do they generate income per year or something? if yes then I might gonna use this mod just to bump up a bit more of my income, after all no matter how small it is, gold still gold
Squishy Chop Squid Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 just few ideas/ suggestions... 1. consider change "interact with prostitute" to "Visit Prostitute(s)" maybe you can introduce events where players (as a male character) can hire more than one prostitute (double the stress loss, higher chance to learn a secret...etc.) maybe a trap event (at low frequency) where your character will get knocked out and robbed. 2. maybe a different form of prostitution instead seeking cheap thrill, players will have the options to visit a brothel (which will cost more to spend the night.) where upon enough exp, courtesan(s) can teach players a skill or grant a modifier... 3. culture heads, upon complete certain events will have the options to reform and to add "Courtesan" as cultural tradition. a question for you, so far the mod seemed to gear toward male centric events, do you plan to have female centric events in the future? Im keen to use it to naturally seed prostitutes into the game

The correct link is https://github.com/pharaox/carnalitas_pr/releases/download/0.1.1/carnalitas_prostitution_reimagined-0.1.1.zip, updated it also in the description. The mod has a lot of features that don't require you to play as a prostitute so you may still give it a try, see the description.

I don't really think so, what do you mean by "male centric"? One of the goals of this mod is to make playing as a prostitute interesting, and given the historical period, this mostly means a female prostitute. I especially recommend playing as a landless adventurer prostitute to try the new "A Night's Diversion" contract. I am myself in the middle of such a playthrough and enjoying it a lot. Made a lot of money by wandering the world and entertaining rulers until I gained the Seducer trait, then seduced the Byzantine emperor, got an estate, then a governorship, and finally became Empress myself. With 140+ attraction opinion or so from traits and jewelry I am the most loved Empress ever. 🙂 1

There are other mechanisms for seeding prostitutes and the system is balanced so that there are some, but not too many. If I change it as you suggest, the world will fill up with prostitutes pretty quickly. As for doing it only for the player, if there are not enough prostitutes nearby, you can find prostitutes via "Interact with Prostitutes" and "Make Love" to them even if they are not nearby by traveling (if you have CLR). 2

Reason being that there is a lot of mods with supernatural creatures that are immortal like vampires or succubae who might have an age of thousands while still appearing young and immortal. The age 40 restriction really seems odd in this context. 1

The age 40 restriction really seems odd in this context. Unfortunately, I am afraid this can't be done. CK3 doesn't have the concept of "apparent age" as far as I know. Each mod handles these age expansions in its own way, and there is no way to support it without a compatch for that particular mod.
