I tried (and failed miserably) to convert this armor from UNP TBBP to CBBE TBBP. It's Jojo's Demon Hunter Armor but it's quite a bit more skimpy. If ANYONE could convert this, please let me know as soon as possible. I have the file if someone wants to try, just let me know and I'll upload it.

Does anyone have or know about a CBBE TBBP conversion of the Northgirl armor? I found one awhile back but I couldn't get it to work (it may not have worked at all). Here's a link to the UNP version and if anyone want's to give it a shot, please post! I would LOVE to see this one in game.

BUMP! MrCasual included a northgirl conversion in his bodyslide set here on LL, but I get odd errors and clipping with it. That is the only conversion that I am aware of (other than a conversion blog that had one, but it was deleted).

I've converted this armor before, but the original link for it was dead. So decided to re-upload it and reconvert it too, since I'm a lot better at this converting thing now. All this mod requires the original mod here. Includes panty zap option (shown).

 

UPDATE: TBBP sets now added and is now required. However if you don't like to use TBBP, the original static conversions are still there, bundled with the TBBP sets.

Because the way ADEC made this mod, this conversion is actually a standalone release, having a modified .esp file to enable weight slider support, and requiring a tbbp capable skelly to use. How ever YOU NEED TO BUILD THE MESHES IN BODYSLIDE FIRST, before you can use this mod. Just saying. :) Includes groin zap option (shown).

It seems that the only weight thats is shown is '100' regardless of if my character has a lower weight. Did I do anything wrong when I installed it or is this the problem of the mod?

I don't know if it makes a difference but I converted it from the 7base version here and used his esp to test. I believe the texture replacer works for either one, the mesh was just a lot cleaner to work with. I also did the boots because there was a mesh for it, but the esp doesn't seem to include it.

 

 

I was trying to convert the  "stand alone skyforge ancient nord armor from THEMINBLACKS UNBP Armor shop" with TBBP...i made a mess :) Dont now what am i doing wrong with this Could someone help me or has already done the conversion? Thanks a lot in advance!

 

So, I was goofing around with the bone weights and I was pretty pleased with the results. I would love to hear some feedback on how it turns out for you guys. Just be warned, it is experimental and done by a guy who barely knows what he's doing as it is.

 

Edit: fixed some clipping on the legs

Both of them have some clipping around the breasts at larger sizes; but otherwise look good!

Thanks for the input. I did touch up the veteran one once again so hopefully it'll be better. I was so excited about getting the body to move without the metal harness I made a couple, small mistakes. Obviously I cannot guarantee results at extreme sizes, but if there is unreasonable clipping I would like to know, and a screenshot would be very helpful in fixing it. The main reason why I started learning how to do this was because I kept downloading bodyslide conversions that didn't work for me for one reason or another, so I wanted to be able to fix them; and all this conversion stuff is just learning/practice.

 

Except for the Ves Outfit. Given the number of times I broke that outfit and had to start over, unless it's horribly broken I'm never going to touch it again, lol. I mean no disrespect to the original mod author(s), it's not you, it's me. I'm just looking for a mesh that's a little bit lower maintenance and won't ruin their texture every time I do something they don't like. I'll never forget the time we had together; it's just time for me to move on. I hope we can still be friends.

Am I just doing something wrong with these and waste my time manually fixing them in OS as I have been?

Few thoughts...

 

Personally, I prefer more modest proportions so I really can't speak to your experience. But if most sliders work okay I would presume you're installing everything correctly; I obviously can't know for certain.

 

Second, as I've been tinkering around with bodyslide conversions the last few weeks I've noticed that most objects conform to sliders pretty seamlessly, but there are a few sliders that I always have to readjust; SSH is one of them, Double Melon often another. So keep in mind you are choosing two of the more difficult sliders. Don't even get me started on the Pregnancy Belly.

 

Third, the best thing about bodyslide/OS is that you don't have to be an expert or a professional to use it. Unfortunately, that means that people (like myself) who are not experts nor professionals will be using it and potentially sharing their creations. The overall quality of work will inevitably go down, but it's not like you're losing work from the more experienced, you're just getting a wider variety. If anything, blame 'real' mod authors for setting the standard of quality as high as they have. But bodyslide is still relatively new, it's not without its flaws, and we've never really had a tool like it before, so give us time and we'll all get better.

 

And lastly, there are just physical (and I guess digital) limits as to how much an object can be stretched and contorted while still maintaining it's original shape without sacrificing too much quality. Bodyslide does a really, really good job of adapting to a huge variety of shapes and sizes but it will never be as good as an object that was created by hand for that specific shape because there aren't nearly as many variables. So, while I'm working on sliders, I know what happens when an object is stretched; I know what happens when an object is rotated, or when it's made bigger, but I can't know what happens when it's stretched and rotated and made bigger plus 20 other sliders. There's just no way to account for every variation, and when you throw in HDT physics the whole paradigm takes on an extra dimension that needs to be considered.  And even if you could consider them all, in order to cater to one extreme (a hefty chest) you often have to make adjustments that could hinder the opposite extreme. So the standard approach is to continue with the theme of bodyslide and pursue versatility above all else. The bottom line is: the further you deviate from the original CBBE shape, the worse your results (objectively speaking).

 

Sorry for the essay, but I hope that helps explain it. Plus, if you didn't want so much information you probably should've reworded your preface. ;)

One particularly troublesome spot appears to be under the breasts. Almost every clipping issue starts there - and it leaves me wondering if people simply aren't checking there when they make a conversion... Not that I'd blame them with how fussy the camera controls are. :P
