Guys, can you help me with the Celadon City gym, I did the whole route and defeated all the gymnasiums, except this one who even trying to enter says that it is locked, so much so that I defeated the leader Giovane and I didn't win Jessie, and I also didn't win Mom on route 1 and I don't know how to get her

To get in Celadon's gym you need to go in the brothel, and talk to the NPC that normally stands at the entrance and gives you a water bottle when you talk to him, he'll give you the keys to the Celadon Gym.

Getting Mom requires you to by the chocolate at Viridian and using it on the rock at route 1 between the ledges.

Unfortunately I dont remember how to get Jessie, as it's been a while since I played and it's one of the more involved sidequests from my memory.

Hi @RyuUzuki ; massive fan of the game to the point where I want to make a spiritual successor based on the concept. I had a number of lore questions that I wanted to ask you because it's been at the front of my mind since playing, if you don't mind me asking. All of my questions are independent of gameplay, entirely lore based (ie: I know the unique girls can't breed in-game and are treated like Legendaries, but I'd be surprised if they were canonically infertile now).

I talked to every NPC and skimmed through every comment to see if I could get any more worldbuilding for the questions.

1) What's the timeframe? How long has it been since women went feral? And how long has it been since it was discovered that they could be caught?

2) You mentioned that the assets of the feral girls go to their relatives. To the relatives, do they consider their loved ones as good as dead? And do they gain said assets back when their sanity returns?

3) Speaking of relatives, what do they do if their loved one is owned by someone else? Like you can bring Clair to fight Lance. He can't be happy about that.

4) For characters like Elesa or Nessa, their passion (modeling) contradicts their rewritten mindset. Once returned to sanity, how would they rectify that? The aversion to clothes seems to be nigh-absolute given women don't even cover up around their kids. But also, we know Pokemon can wear clothes, like the Cosplay Pikachus.

5) For most female Pokemon Trainers, their lives, everything they've worked for, is pretty much over. Mainly due to the new rules preventing them from being Pokemon Trainers, among other things. Wouldn't they try to do something about it? Like for someone like say, Cynthia, she's been with her Garchomp since it was in an egg, and now Cynthia can't even be with her.

6) Women get traded without a second thought in this world. Given they're caught, that means their sanity is back even before you get them. How do they feel about that? Does Daisy feel betrayed by her brother? Are girls like Gardenia horrified that they got ripped from their home regions? Would Lusamine have self-worth issues being traded for a literal cat (assuming this is post Su/Mo where she's trying to be a good person again)? Would Hilda, Rosa, Dawn, and Candice be traumatized from being trafficked?

7) Wouldn't calmed Rocket Grunts not obey the rule of not being allowed to be trainers anymore? On a related note, why wouldn't Jessie be alongside James in the overworld instead of relegated to a ball if she's sane again? She was always the dominant personality between the two. Especially with the plotline ending with her being given to you. Also, you mentioned that women wouldn't be charged with a crime due to being Pokemon if they were an accessory. What if a sane woman commits a crime on her own free will?

8. You mentioned that girls lay eggs when breeding with Pokemon. Is that just Pokemon, and they have live births if they mate with a human? And for that matter, how do males work? Can women give birth to boys anymore? If they can, would they be hybrids like they would if they were female?

9) Speaking of which, the Grunt lays an egg that hatches into a fully grown Peach after breeding with an Amoonguss. How does that work? Do all women give birth to fully matured women if they breed with Pokemon? The Gardevoir Pokemorph is explicitly called a mutation. And you mentioned in another comment that kids born to still-feral women are feral themselves, which leads me to believe they give birth to women. If they do, would the kid be essentially a clone of the girl? I'm assuming it being Peach is an exception so if say Misty is made to breed with a Blastoise, would the kid be another Misty?

10) The Celadon Hotel prevents women from staying there now, because they're Pokemon instead of humans, and she and her family take ire to that. It made me think, is there some sort of hidden discrimination going on in this new world? Especially with them being forbidden to be trainers again. I'd doubt everything that happens in Feral F the women would be okay with if they got their minds back. The various breeding with Pokemon being a prime example, or the aforementioned trading. There's an old man in Cerulean that mentions that he'd like to catch a feral girl to take care of him. Once her mind returns would this hypothetical girl be okay with that? Even for girls owned by loved ones, that's a level of power that one party has over another that would make anyone scared, because they could do what Blue did and just give them away, or throw them into a PC where they remain in stasis for millennia, given Pokopia shows the PC works that way. And you mentioned if a trainer lets them, they can do whatever. But...what if he doesn't? Can women even say no anymore? Normal Pokemon can disobey but what about women?

11) Can released girls be recaught? Or are they forever free?

12) You mentioned that Joys are owned by the League, teachers are owned by the school, etc. If released girls keep their sanity afterwards, what reason would they have to keep them instead of releasing them? The women should have lives outside of work and it's not like the higher-ups with their balls are using them for battle.

13) Is regained sanity immediate or gradual?

14) This seems like a highly traumatic experience for the girls. How would they come to terms with the animalistic stuff they did while wild? Not even just the breeding but things like eating out of dumpsters or fighting for dominance or killing to eat raw meat for sustenance? Since they remember their time as feral.

15) Actually, speaking of trauma, when the incident happened, women had to have been doing dangerous things like driving or piloting or running nuclear plants. Did chaos ensue or did they just get lucky and like everyone was home that day for some reason lol.

16) Why did they keep Caitlin feral in the safari instead of catching her? With how easily the warden gives her to you it doesn't seem like she'd put up a fight like Flannery or Erika.

You don't get Jessie from Giovanni. You get her from an endgame sidequest involving fighting James like 4 times across a variety of locations.

Many questions about lore

From the general vibe of the place, this is still the Pokémon world, where hard questions like how do things not go terribly wrong are usually answered with Pokémon being good overall. What happens when nuclear engineers become Pokémon? They do the same thing any Pokémon in a powerplant would do, make it work while asking for snacks.

Unless you personally want to write something darker, there's very little trauma in this romhack. There is a romhack that goes into that kind of darkness, girls hunter, if that's more your cup of tea. It gets very dark though, more so in the post game content.

I’ve been playing GH and the sequels as we speak and uh…yea I’m take Feral 9.5 out of 10 times. I’ll take being open to interpretation over…anything that happens on those evil islands.

Honestly agreed, there are good points and honestly the world building is interesting in a similar way that watching a train derail is but its way too horrific,
I think however if you look into the ramifications of Feral without going 'its a pokemon world where woman is a pokemon type' it gets very dark. But because they act exactly like pokemon here (the old man's dialogue previously referring to a pokemon and just being word swapped), there's actually a few good answers to some of your questions.

For 4, 5, 6 and 7, there is little to no trauma experienced, the women don't 'become sane' any more then a wild pokemon 'becomes tamed'. Or atleast thats my interpretation.

I just looked at the code again and the Elite Four have 30 IVs on all pokemon, that may be a bit of a hurdle for a no EV no IV no Overlevel Nuzlocke.

So far the first three gyms are super easy, I did lose Leaf and Picnicker to silly confusion had and overleveled dugtrio encounter oops. Ranger-H is bad but salvageable for intimidate stalling.

Had to miss Mom and Whitney because of the first encounter rule, Bulbasaur is pretty rare.

Got Lusamine though that's pretty nice.

Will try to dupe beauties and mankey so I can catch Erika and Nurse.

Sleep had been OP due to AI constantly switching out, unfortunately my viridian encounter was picnicker not caterpie/Compoundeyes Butterfree. With Exeggcute only learning Sleep Powder by egg move in gen 8, my only option would be Jynx (dupeable but cmon) and the random bad hypnosis. Parasect is horribly slow and rare.

Rather hilarious that I keep rolling the worse abilities, with Erika secured I tried doing repel + dupe clause to get a backer and it's fire backer with synchronize. Route 7 roll gives me flash fire growlithe, at least it has physical stab and the tower has guaranteed gastly. Apparently Nasty Plot Gengar is only for BDSP so none of that in game.

I do want to plan my next few encounters, I'd like a Kingdra with perhaps a drizzle user. Politoed may be easier to nab than hidden island parasol lady. Kingler would be fine too since it has physical stab. So that'll be cerulean for horsea and viridian for poliwag. Swimmer-U is pretty strong, could use that. Lapras is a guaranteed in Silph Co which is a shame since I wanted Ariana, but never used her anyways. Saffron Dojo should be a breeze with Lusamine.

Accidentally got the literal worst human with Idol in route 16, should have waited for poke flute for guaranteed snorlax. No clue what to get for 17 or 18, doduo and a dupe might be fine.

Safari zone, got 0 dupes for this so just fuck me up fam.

Master ball is for zapdos, but I play no Overlevel.

Missed all of Cowgirls' encounters but golem should do well or better.

Hidden island either Jynx or Clair, whoever can convince me to get one or the other. Or else I would get common Machop since I don't have dupes for that yet oops.

That's a lot of questions. And most of them can be answered with gameplay logic.

Grunt gives egg with fully grown peach is no different than getting and egg with fully grown aerodactyl. it is just for gameplay.

All girls when caught still behave mostly like pokemon so they don't complain about being traded or that they can't be trainers.

As for the breeding with humans, the lore is that all humans are Pokemon just as we are considered animals. over time humans learned how to use tools and stuff and forgot how to use pokemon moves. there even is a man that says he is afraid that men will become feral too because there won't be anyone left to calm them.

Girls can become trainers, that is the whole story of the sequel, but those girls need to be born in captivity as those girls aren't wild anymore.

released girls can be caught again - basically all the rules for Pokemon apply to girls.

Caitlin was in safari because she was rare. And warden given her to you because he felt she will be safer with you.

Honestly, I do like the idea that the pokemon world is just significantly more functional and kinder than ours. "Oh, all human females went feral and turned into pokemon? Well, better make infrastructure for it now." Idk, that has its own appeal, rather than tryiing to make it "dark" or "realistic"

I appreciate the answers! Thanks for sating my curiosity!

It’s good that the Pokemon World even in this is just a nicer place to be (and that I read wayyyyy too much into things lol). Still, it’s unavoidably sad that the people they used to be are just…gone. Like best case scenario, your loved one is a mentally reduced version of themselves and any ambition or drive they once had is replaced with docility.

Best advice I can give you is: check how others do it. There is many talented pixel artist to draw inspiration from. Check their work, and then try yourself. At first you propably end up more or less copying bits and pieces, but soon enough you just develop your own style.

I don’t view it as them being mentally reduced or made docile. If I remember right, most of them still recall being themselves after they were caught but they also have the memories of being feral. The two sets of memories caused them to have a new set of opinions and priorities. Nurse Joys still love to heal, school teachers are still able to teach, beauties scam guys out of money/supplies, and so on. They just also have a desire to battle and get stronger at least the ones we catch in the game.

On a side note, I could see Elessa and Nessa still loving modeling and such but they may switch over to accessories or very skimpy outfits as many of the feral girls still wear shoes, hats, belts, scarfs and/or gloves.

I did when working on the first game. I didn't had to use it on the second game as I got much better.

If you download the unecrypted version you can access all the sprites.

Okay so what I’m gathering is that women are, in layman’s terms, intelligent Pokemon with memories of having once been human. Their cognizance/sapience is somewhere between that of a Gardevoir and Team Rocket’s Meowth.

Though, and this is still me overthinking things, the Celadon Hotel denying women because it’s a human hotel and no Pokemon (especially with the mom taking ire) really does reinforce that nobody sees them as people anymore. Like if Blue or Oak never saw Daisy again after being given to Red, I don’t know if they would care.

This actually helped rationalize things for me a bit, thanks. That said, the primary priority does seem to be compliance first and foremost when calmed. Given having zero qualms about being traded or bred or used as an accessory to a crime. Like they can’t do anything for themselves anymore it seems like, either they’re told what to do or told that they can do something.

Like take Clair, an aggressive woman who dedicated her life to Pokemon battles, what would remain of her when calmed?

Just made this, has all the battle sprites of the girls.

If you wanted to look through all the files you can use the decrypter following the instructions below ↓ and look through the files after extracting but it will have all the random pokemon sprites mixed in

On 11/14/2024 at 12:57 PM, Radcliff3 said:

Because you have to use RPGMakerDecrypter to decrypt the game before opening it up in RPG Maker XP. Open the app and select the RGGS file in the game's folder, once everything is loaded in the app check the "Generate Project" box. Then click "Extract all" to a separate folder. Now you have a decrypted project file you can open up in RPG Maker XP, but you can't playtest it until you copy all the files from the Feral F Game Folder EXCEPT for the encrypted RGGS you extracted from (I don't know which files make it work so I just did all of them) and when it asks you if you want to overwrite the game.ini file just overwrite it. Once all the files are copied open the project file in RPG Maker XP (You should be able to just click on the project file and it'll open in the software) click the playtest button and it should load the game and your save with no issues.  Then you can press F9 (not F8) to open the debug menu. Make your changes then save the game.

Based on what little I know of her, I figure she is happy she is now durable and strong enough to be on the fighting end of a Pokémon battle if she wasn’t already fighting her dragons during training pre going feral.

I think that if she is released or leaves her trainer for whatever reason (as in other media Pokémon can abandon their trainers), she would go home, get gather her old Pokemon and have a go at being a trainer again or become a tutor.

You made me remember how at one point I wanted to try to learn how to mod the game so that I could make an event where after you catch a bunch of pokemon and girls, some disappear from the PC (Oak would call about this). You then find one of the missing girls on a route battling and using the other missing pokemon. Then you would’ve decided what to do with her (send her back to the box or let her be a trainer for part of the prize money). I didn’t get much further than an initial brainstorming session due to life not letting me have time to learn how to code in the programming language of the game

Originally I was gonna use Nemona as an example but Nemona at least has friends to fall back on lol.

Actually, speaking of Nemona, the girl is so battle obsessed that even when she was possessed/mind controlled her battle obsession remained. Would willpower that strong still get wiped, hypothetically? I know the official answer is yes but I wanna know what you’d think.

Does my heart good to know of others that wanted to further the world RyuUzuki built, cause it’s so interesting and open for it.

I’ve mentioned in my first post that I was planning to make a fangame based on this concept, thinking Feral F was one-and-done. Massive weight off my shoulders reading through this and learning RyuUzuki has zero qualms about that.
