The girls of Daybreak wanted to try out some cosplay, from DOA!  Four new outfits, as you can see above.  Thank you to the legendary @lakovic for the nude bodies that I used to fit the costume on, I hope he does not mind.  Disclaimer: Obviously I do not own and do not claim ownership of any of the assets used in the making of this mod.

 

*Note: The swimsuit, bra / panty set, and crop top / jean shorts are each available on all 4 girls.  The outfit Agnès has on is available only for her, because it was a gigantic pain.*

To use the mod, just copy contents of the dlc folder and the mods folder into your Daybreak folder's dlc and mods folders.  The costume can be unlocked from the DLC tab of the item menu.  All the costumes can also be purchased from the shop right outside Van's office.

 

NOTE: Starting with Daybreak, Falcom no longer has a modular DLC system, so without making your own custom tables, you can only use one DLC P3A at a time!  Please see here how to combine the tables of 2 or more DLCs using the .kurodlc.json file included in this mod.  It is an intimidating process at first, but will become very easy once you do it once or twice.

Hello, quick question - I have to buy this DLC item from shop near Van office or it should appear automatically in inventory's dlc tab? If it's later then mod doesnt work for me for some reason, nothing was added to my inventory

This time each girl has her own outfit, with a total of 3 variants!  The variants are:

  • Agnès - Original, barefoot and bottomless, barefoot and no underwear
  • Feri - Original, wide open jacket, no jacket
  • Risette - Original, no skirt, no shirt and no skirt
  • Judith - Original, extra risqué, topless

Upload replaced 12/14/24 with new version. Changelog below.

When I run kuro_mdl_export_meshes.py from the basic modding tutorial, nothing happens, even from command prompt.  I have the .mdl file in the folder, along with the other 2 files from the kuro mdl tools (the lib and the other import script).  Any ideas?

Please post a screenshot of running it from the command prompt.

Kuro MDL Tools v1.5.9 is out!

 

Changelog:

  • Add a simple shader hashing system, to be utilized for finding similar shaders.  A script, kuro_find_similar_shaders.py, and a database (kuro_shaders.csv) are now included in the release package; this script is used for finding shaders that are similar to the inputted shader, sorted by increasing difference in the shader switches.
  • Change the default value for complete_vgmaps_default in kuro_mdl_export_meshes.py to True.

NOTE: kuro_mdl_export_meshes.py now requires the python module xxhash. Please run install_python_modules.bat again if you have not previously installed this module. The updated install_python_modules.bat file was accidentally left out of KuroMDLTools_v1.5.9.zip so the upload has been replaced. Please be sure to download KuroMDLTools_v1.5.9_update1.zip instead.

Hey guys

 I'm having tons of fun with @lakovic  sexy&nude mod. However, this keeps happening to Agnès, aka her staff wields her costume. Any help fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

EDIT : Nevermind, solved the issue by deleting/reinstalling Agnès mod files and  pressing F10 in-game

I have an example here using 3dmigoto.

  • Download lakovic's sexy&nude mod. If you don’t want to use those mods, paste everything except the Mods and dds folders into your game directory.
  • Paste the dds and Mods folders from my files (same link as the first) into the game directory.
  • Edit the dds/RisetteHair03.dds file to be whatever color you want (Paint.net is good for editing dds files). I am also attaching the original hair color files in case you want to start with those.
  • You can save your image files with different names to have different color options. The .ini file in the Mods folder has a line pointing to the file to use. You can change that in a text editor to point to a different file if you want.

You might see some irrelevant messages on screen when the game starts or when you press some function keys. To get rid of those, you would need to edit the d3dx.ini file, which is more advanced.

This tutorial video is quite helpful for understanding how 3dmigoto mods work. You will definitely want to watch the “Index Buffer Removal Mod” and “Recolor Texture Mod” sections, but the other stuff at the beginning is also useful. Note that he is wrong to suggest that you need 3d modelling experience to change colors. You don’t need Blender to modify hair color, but you might want to set it up while watching the tutorial. If so, find DarkStarSword's plugin here.

 

Looking through the .ini files in existing mods is also very helpful.

I think I'm missing something with lakovic's sexy&nude mod. Is there any way I can just have the costume part for the main characters (specifically, the Qilin Dress for Risette)? I tried deleting all the Mods folders except for Risette's, but pressing F4+3 ingame doesn't do anything when I switch to Risette's swimsuit. I know 3dmigoto is working because the prompts show, and I have Risette's original hair color for her Battle Maid costume.

 1 : did you overwrite the "common_shaders.ini" in the lakovic mod with the one from Amorrow's underskirt mod ?

 

 

2  : the alt costumes are displayed when pressing F4+3 on "swimsuit with top" DLC costume

The girls of Daybreak are back with even more cosplay from DOA!  (Try out pack 1 here and pack 2 here!)  This time I have ported the infamous sling bikini for Agnès, Feri, Risette and Judith (each with 2 colors).  Additionally there is a strawberry themed outfit for Agnès, Feri, Risette and Judith in both white and black, so there is a total of 16 outfits.  Again, thank you to the legendary @lakovic for the nude bodies that I used to fit the costume on, as he has generously given me permission to use!  Disclaimer: Obviously I do not own and do not claim ownership of any of the assets used in the making of this mod.

NOTE: I found out after I made this mod that @lakovic included versions of this in his mod (Feri has the sling bikini and Fie has a version of the strawberry outfit).  I did use his nude bodies with permission as stated but the costumes I used are from the DOA archives, so I promise I did not steal his work.  As always, I am very grateful to lakovic and our continued collaborations!  I would very much encourage everyone to enjoy both versions.

 

Also, I think I am done with these DOA costumes, I have run out of ones I like.  Enjoy!  🙃

I've updated my DOA cosplay packs!  There was a major issue with weighting and matrices that I just couldn't figure out how to repair.  Thankfully @NotAZebra gave me some inspiration and I was able to fix the models.

 

You can get the updated files for pack 1 here, pack 2 here and pack 3 here!  The tables are unchanged, so you do not need to remake your custom tables if you are updating from a prior version of these mods.

I wanted to have the Z1 Racing Queen outfits from Kuro 2 in Trails Through Daybreak, so I created the files necessary for a backport mod!

You will need to own Kuro no Kiseki 2 CLE for PC (Steam) to get the actual assets themselves.  Instructions below on how to get them into Trails Through Daybreak (NISA).  I will not be distributing the mod itself since it has original Falcom assets (although if someone else were to do so, I obviously cannot stop them).

  1. Put all the Kuro 2 files above into a folder with Kuro MDL Tools.
  2. Run cle_decrypt_decompress.py.  You can delete all the .original.encrypted files.
  3. Run kuro_mdl_export_meshes.py.
  4. Go into the chr5001_c61 folder, and edit mdl_version.json.  Change the '2' into a '1'.  This will force the scripts to backport the Kuro 2 mdl into Kuro 1 mdl.
  5. Copy the mdl_version.json file you just edited into all the other mdl folders, overwriting the originals.  (Both costume and equipment folders!)
  6. Agnès' type A suit, chr5001_c61, has a shader that does not exist in Kuro 1.  Replace the material_info.json with the one included in the download above.
  7. Run kuro_mdl_import_meshes.py.  You can delete all the .mdl.bak files.
  8. Make the folder racing_queens/asset/common/model/ and put all the .mdl files in there.
  9. Rename all the .mi files to .json.  Make the folder racing_queens/asset/common/model_info/ and put the .json files in there.  (Only the files you renamed from .mi, not the .kurodlc.json file!)
  10. Make the folder racing_queens/asset/dx11/image/ and put all the .dds files in there.
  11. Put script_en.p3a (from Trails Through Daybreak) into a folder with Kuro DLC Tools and racing_queens.kurodlc.json (included in the download above).
  12. Run kurodlc_extract_original_tbls.py.
  13. Run kurodlc_make_tbls.py.
  14. Make the folder racing_queens/table_en/ and put t_costume.tbl, t_dlc.tbl, t_item.tbl and t_shop.tbl in there.
  15. This should be the final composition of the racing_queens folder:

  1. Drag the racing_queens folder onto p3a_archive.py (p3a_lib.py should be in the same folder).
  2. Put racing_queens.p3a into {Trails Through Daybreak}/mods/.
  3. You will need to create a DLC unlock key for DLC 232 and put it in {Trails Through Daybreak}/dlc/.  (Just copy one of the existing keys.)  If you do not have a DLC key, you can also just buy all the items from Paulette's shop in Montmart Bistro.
