With Vortex and the extension for Daybreak, you can download a mod archive and install it with a simple GUI that lets you choose options. For example, for my mod, the installer will ask you to choose one of the three options for jacket length for Agnes and whether to shorten Risette’s skirt.

To help test the extension,

  Reveal hidden contents

1. Back up and remove the Mods folder from the game directory
2. Install Vortex: https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/
3. Go to the Extensions tab in Vortex
4. Drop the Vortex extension for Trails Through Daybreak.7z archive into the Drop File(s) box
5. Wait for the extension to install and then follow any prompt to restart Vortex
6. Go to the Games tab
7. If Daybreak is not listed under “Managed”, search for it, hover over the tile, and click “Manage”.
8. Hover over the game tile, and click “Activate”
9. Go to the Mods tab"
10. Select “Install from file”
11. Select the TestDaybreakMod.7z file.
12. An installer should open. Select “Mod Agnes”.
13. Check that there is now a Mods folder in the game directory. It should contain some symlinks to p3a files and a vortex.deployment.json
14. Play the game and check that either Agnes default or Aramis clothes have been modded

I would also appreciate anyone testing whether they can install the extension using the “Vortex” button on Nexus Mods.

It eventually will be better to get the extension directly from Nexus Mods, but I am attaching the files for testing.

I don’t know what is required for DLC mods. Will the game load an edited table instead of the original if it is placed in Mods? If not, Vortex would only be a partial solution. As far as I know, there needs to be an existing way for the game to preferentially load the mod files; Vortex just manages symlinks in the locations that the game would already load preferentially. I could add code to the extension to have it manage files in the tables directory, but the user would probably have to rename the original files for there to not be conflicts.

DLC mods are P3A mods as well, but users have to create a custom P3A that activates all the mods. I’d like to simplify it more, although it’s impossible to remove the requirement for the custom P3A.

If it can be automated in a way that is mostly independent of the particular mod, then I would guess the extension could probably do that. I am not confident that my skill with JavaScript would be up to the task, but I would try to implement something if I knew the algorithm to follow.

Grimcat came in 2 versions, bodysuit (don't worry her genitals are accentuated too on this version) & nude, since it's a non-DLC mod, you must choose one between 2 versions.

 

Ashen is a more revealing Chinese dress, the dress color changed to red so the dress matches her heels.

Can't download unskirt mod to get the new common_shaders.ini that is needed to make the nude mods work. I'm trying to use Coomi's 3dm mod but it the post says I need the common shader from unskirt. the version I need isn't available to download.

it's probably a lot of work, but adding pictures to the selector would probably be nice to see the differences between the options.

Hello, I have compiled all my mods (previous+new) and divided them into 3 parts to make it easy for the users to use them...

As usual, I only made topless or partial-nude (accessories & footwear still attached) mods, I'm not making any full-nude mods, sorry <(_)>

 

What is included in my mods:

② Side Party Female Characters (Shizuna will be added once I encounter her)

③ NPC Female Characters (The remaining female NPC such as Naje, Celis, Kaela & Esmeray will be added too later)

 

how to use the mods...

① Extract the "mods" & "DLC" folders into the "Trails through Daybreak" data folder.

 

② Make sure to confirm both "mods" & "DLC" folders' contents, on the "DLC" folders 301 is code for Agnes, 303 for Feri, 305 for Risette, and 307 for Judith. 

 

③ Then run the game, for DLC mods we need to redeem the DLC first, so go to the DLC menu and redeem the DLC. Then equip the DLC costume like usual from the equipment menu.

Thank you for all the mods! However, I've noticed that the womb tattoo also appears on the official swimsuit dlc costumes as well (also Amorrow's agnes outfit). Interestingly enough, Risette is using Agnes womb tattoo version instead of her own on this swimsuit, instead of the one that's present on your modded version. Not to say that it doesn't look good but its nice to have options.

Also this is a skill issue on my part but is it possible to include the .json file with your mod as I am unclear on how to generate it. It's no worries if it's not possible or too much trouble as your effort and mods are appreciated nonetheless!

that's weird, I triple-checked and Risette never had this issue because she had her own skin texture file...

Agnes uses a shared skin texture which is commonly used by other female characters such as Elaine, Nina, etc. That's why the tattoos are generated too on them...

No clue for the Risette issue. I checked with a clean install with only your mods and the default swimsuit still uses agnes tattoos.

Also I get your explanation regarding the shared skin textures and it makes sense. However at least in fakecheng's underwear mod, they don't use this shared skin I suppose? I know nothing about how modding works so it could be that they did an extra step or reused another model's skin texture.

Either way, no worries about it as it is a minor issue and I can see why it wouldn't be so easily fixed. Regarding the json files, just the kurodlc.json file for the main girls would be fine. Thank you! (ps inside the zip folder, your sidegirls and maingirls preview images are the same)
