Trails through Daybreak (NIS America, English Language release)

So am I correct in assuming that the only mod that work with the English versions as of right now the unskirt mod? The others, like nude&sexy, don't work yet in English?

yeah i did, f10 to refresh and everything, really weird considering I never had this issue on any other trails games. oh well, ill see if i cant figure anything out tmrw

Well on the plus side the mods seems to work (though I won't be able to see if the sexy and nude stuff works until chapter 2 since no bathing scenes until then), the downside is there's like 30 seconds of errors taking up the screen when I boot up the game.

Edit: okay so I did some playing around. It turns out lakovic's mods completely break as soon as you add d3dx.ini from the unskirt mod. Coomi's mod worked fine. If you try adding d3dx.ini from lakovic's mod then nothing works., not even coomi's mod, and everything is just default. So we need a version of d3dx.ini that works with lakovic's mods.

Ok, I got what was wrong:

When I put graphics to ultra, mods no longer works, including base Unskirt from Amorrow. Guessing it uses specific shaders or something, gonna track which setting specifically is the cause and update this message.

 

Edit : it's SGSAA's fault, disable it and mods work.

That's not my issue. It was never even on for me. Another wrinkle: the mod folder has to be named 3dm_mods instead of just "mods" like it used to be or nothing seems to work. However, all of lakovic's mods are still not working and I get a ton of errors every time I try to start. Has anyone gotten lakovic's mods to work on this? I'm curious to know.

Hey, had something similar occur to me. What I did was copy the d3dx.ini from lakovic's mod, and on line 13, change  'include_recursive = Mods' to 'include_recursive = 3dm_mods'.

Got lakovic's mods working for me now (I only tested it on Agnes swimsuit tho)

The game looks so good in terms of graphic's compared to the older titles,especially the characters .I'm wondering if it's a good ideea to play it,seeing as I haven't finished the older ones yet.

Its a good entry point if you dont want finishing the old titles.

Yeah it was sgssa, disabling that made the mod work, maybe you could make a fix for that? maybe not? don't know if its even possible lol

Just curious how to get the pink sweater for Agnes, is it an actual outfit, or a mod? bc I saw her in it in the intro, but I don't see it anywhere online other than here.

Also, does anyone have a site that shows pics of all costumes in this game?

This removed all the errors at the start. At first the textures still wouldn't load properly and then I realized my dumb ass hadn't moved over the dds folder so now everything works great.

All of the alternate versions of the outfits, like Agnes minus her jacket (or even better the one with just her sweater and no leggings), Van minus his jacket and Feri without her jacket and scarf unlock in new game+.

Hmm, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I copied the "sexyandnude2.0" mod into the game folder and edited the d3dx.ini as described. I don't get any error messages either. But when I press F2 in the game to activate it and then F4+1 to change Agnes' costume, unfortunately nothing happens. I have the Swimsuit with Top equipped. Have I forgotten a step?

Another question: Can Cheat Engine and 3DM run together without any problems? Because some keys overlap.

SGSSA breaks 3dm here for some reason, the unskirt mod didn't work for me until I turned that off, try that

I just finished the prologue.  So far there are references to Sky, Crossbell, Erebonia, the ending of CS4, events in Reverie.  None of them are game-breaking, this game was meant to be a potential new entry point.  But still, if you are bothered by missing references, or having major events from past games spoiled for you, then I would play the games in release order!

Do I have to keep the content of the Unskirt Mod from this thread? It's only about the 3DM version, right? The content in the 3dm_mod folder is only from the sexy&nude mod, right?

Basically same recommendation I would do for someone starting in Cold Steel 1 (which is what I did personally) : if it helps you getting into the serie because you have troiuble getting into older game, nothing wrong with it.

However, there will be reference you won't get, characters that will be *very* briefly introduced because you're suppoosed to know them from past arcs, and general spoiler to all the main things that happened before.

Still, Daybreak is somewhat self contained and discovering in reverse will just mean you'll have the "cameo from another game" hype in reverse, which works too.

But you'll have to play or at least HEAVILY wikidive the other arcs to get what's happening and who are all these people, especially since even more people come back in Daybreak two, and based on what trailer of Kai have come out, it'll be impossible to get into it without having knowledge of other arcs.

For me what I did is that I just installed nude&sexy, and only thing I took from this thread Unskirt is the common_shader.ini (found in "3dm_mods" folder, to put in mods/Unskirtmod folder of Sexy&Nude), and it works fine.

No other file manipulation, no other thing from Unskirt in my game folder.

Only thing I noticed is some textures are sometime missing, like at end of chapter 1 a character's zippers (and only the zippers on his clothes) or the body of Mare.

I started with the cold steel games, then reverie, now this. I wanted to go back and play all of them in order, but decided not to play these games exclusively for 3 years. Ill be honest, I don't know anything about the games before cold steel, and I understood cold steel perfectly, cold steel explained what happened in them, but I don't remember any of it other than that a war happened or something. I'm about 2 1/2 chapters into daybreak and I've yet to see anything that would ruin the older games for you if you decide to go back, cold steel however has had some pretty big plot points spoiled already. I would just recommend starting with the cold steel games, then reverie, then this. They get the main points of the older games across once you get to the 3rd and 4th cold steel games, and gave me the gist of the world and how it works, but they didn't spoil enough that I can't enjoy them if I ever decide to play them... It will take you a two or three months to beat the cold steel games unless you no life them, but they are great games, especially cold steel 2, I love cold steel 2 so much.
