Hi.

I havent played this in a looooong time but wanted to come back since its been updated. However i rather wait until its stable and seems to run all the fun adult mods. Can anyone give an idea if its now ready or close from experience or a guesstimate of a good time to return to it? i dont want to waste a whole day modding this up only to be told " You wont get this to adult mod work yet for at least another 6 months or longer. dont bother trying yet" LOL.

I have even seen people saying MCM doesnt work yet but curious if thats true. :D

Personally speaking, I've not allowed any updates this year...the risk/reward ratio simply isn't worth it to me at this point. I'm running 450+ mods, they all work great and I'm not prepared to wreck that for a bit of extra content.

If I was you, I would disable updates and stick with the older build that you know all your adult/spicy mods work on.` I also have a feeling that a lot of modders are getting sick of updating stuff or have left the scene altogether, so a lot of stuff will never work with the new build anyway.

I have a mod build that is like six months old and I haven't updated my game yet. My mods are functioning well, but I'm wondering what would happen if I download new/updated mods that are compatible with new patch? Could it cause issues or even break my game?

From what i read if it was made with the "next gen" creation kit then it would be incompatible with previous F04 so wouldn't work

That's mostly correct - BA2 archives saved in the updated Creation Kit use different forms that are not compatible with old-gen Fallout 4.

However, I did find a tool on Nexus HERE that let me convert an archive from a new mod to work with my old game.  I was also then able to unpack the archive to loose files after using the converter.

Short answer: Yes.

Long Answer: Look at the short answer.

There's also this, which just lets the game actually be able to read the new ba2 archives, without having to update fallout 4 itself.

Currently: NO

Honestly, with way over 300 working mods I will wait for say  another 6 months to see what the modding scene will come up with, and depending on that I will consider updating.

To be on the safe side I think I will keep my old working installation separately and do the update on a fresh installation, without any remnants of previous mods.

Having said that, should Fallout London be released earlier, I guess I will  have to update earlier.

Meine nächste Frage ist also, wie einfach es ist, zu einer Vor-Next-Gen-Version von Fallout4 zurückzukehren? Kann ich das auf Steam machen?

Nexus has the necessary tools - they are the most downloaded ones for Fallout 4

Tried the downgrade.... didn't work....Probably something i'm not comprehending... but am done until the next gen bs is blown way over. honestly fall out 4 is too old to be putting out updates like the one they did...

It's really bizarre.... It's like they noticed fallout 4 was becoming popular again after the TV show and decided to try and kill it again. Like... why? Just leave it alone. The game is 8 years old now.... Just leave it alone and let the modders do their thing.
