Should I just stop?

I am doing a simple game with porn contents.

Are 4 months I post regular updated (once a week.)

Game and contents are 100% free (I do have a Patreon but it does not give anything more, all contents are available for free.)

But I see that something that takes me 2 days to create has just 10 downloads, while any Sim Bang New [various emojis] Fart gets 150 downloads per day.

P.S. Never got a single "like" to any of my files. Not a single one.

I am quite frustrated.

I think I will just stop and leave the site.

Up to you imho. People may just not be interested  by your game. At least, this is the case for me. That being said, good luck to you !

*Googles "facial links game"*

*Still has no clue*

I don't even know what it's all about.

I think best way to approach this is that you mod for yourself first and after shearing it, be happy that you're not alone with your little kink if you get some kind of feedback.

Users are notorious to give thumbs to everything but stuff that involves thought or work or is helpful.

If you want just thumbs, post some screenshots of naked pixels 😄

Wait... you did...

Urghs, okay, guess you need to work on your promotion tactics! 😬

Market is a bit saturated (which is a GOOD thing!) and games (even free ones) are being heavily scrutinized/compared against more polished titles. I wouldn't get too frustrated since you can miss a few times and suddenly hit with something and get more attention than you actually wanted with people begging for more, more... and more. Good advice from @donttouchmethere to create for yourself first and chalk the rest up to learning.

Also, "stopping" suggest closing the door never to return. I prefer thinking of it like stepping back for a bit and reassessing the situation.

Sure. But consider I had a total of about 2500 downloads (game is posted here and on Patreon as free, no need to pay to download.)

How many likes I got in 3 months? Just a couple.

YOu need to advertise. You don't even have your work in your signature. Didn't post the link to your work when you posted here.

You need to work on polishing your product (when you get time.)  Remember there is lots of competition.

I suggest that you keep the most recent chapters of your game behind a pay wall to help offsent the hard work you are doing to create a game. It is also a place where you can converse with others that appareciate your work and possibly give you ideas and suggestions to expand your work.

finally, don't let the numbers get you down. If those that downloaded the game enjoyed it, then you did your job.

It might be a slow burn before you start to get popular. use this time to work on any refinements of skill you might need.

A lot of people know about Ivy now.

They don't know about Grimm, Chocky, The Ultimate Mod... and the dozens of other games and mods I made. Some of them had a an audience, most of them did not. Games I was most proud of, full games with 10+ hours of gameplay, were sometimes completely ignored. Stuff I released as a joke was sometimes more popular than anything else I released before.

You create, because the creativity flows from so deep that you can't contain it. You GOTTA create, it's not something you do.. it's something you are. If it's something you're 'doing' expecting certain 'results' than whatever it is you're doing isn't creativity, but commerce: You make something expecting it to become popular, trend or become viral. And only a huge marketing apparatus or huge dose of luck can do that for you. Just make what you love to make and then make a new thing, and another new thing, and another.. and one of those things will be seen by people.

Aren't you the guy who posted some "joke" or fake "test" mod of a sim or something to

test for downloads or something stupid like that?

If so can you really blame anyone for not wanting anything what so ever to do with anything you

upload as some game or whatever it is you are working on?

That kind of crap really resonates with people... not a good start for you here...

Cheers!

It's entirely too easy to take some project you started for your own personal enjoyment and inadvertently attach your worth to how much (or little) other people like it.  I've run into that as well.  Swore I wouldn't, it happened anyway.

No idea how to fix this issue, just pointing out that it IS a thing that tends to happen - even when you know it going into the project and tell yourself not to tie your project's worth (to yourself) to how much other people like it or don't like it.

So you're not alone.  That said, there are ways of increasing one's visibility, as others have stated.  If it's important to you, see about attempting some of the visibility options before throwing in the towel.

On the other hand, be able to look at it objectively.  Personal example:  I went with some "racier" stuff of my making that the site in question required a paywall for (to make sure the viewers were legal age).  I found that even with as low a price as I could allow (basically free), almost no one was interested.  I don't like the ever increasing amount of my stuff being behind a paywall that nopony cares enough about even when it's all but free, so decided I'm pulling the stuff, and going back to 'free only', so at least it'll get some traffic.  So, stand back, take an objective look, and make an educated decision on the matter - rather than a snap decision based on an in-the-moment emotional response.
