Kiruthekitty Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that I could go to download a full build of mods for specific playthroughs/fetishes. I'd like to not have to mess with load order or anything, as I can never get it working myself. I just want something I can download that would run smoothly, or as smoothly as possible with all things considered. I.E. A playthrough focusing on defeat mods and slavery. I.E. A playthrough focusing on bestiality mods and their special classes/quests. I've tried to put together things in the past, but it always ends up to crash heavy and unplayable.
Grey Cloud Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Gosh, if only there was something called wabbajack or Nexus Collections.

I have heard of Nexus Collections, but last time I looked into these none of them included any of the mods from Loverslab. Wabbajack is new to me, but they don't seem to have anything that I'm looking for either. Thank you for the reply.
travelmedic Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 I think most of the really active members here dislike mod packs. You have to play someone else's idea of a good time, you have to hope that it's up-to-date, and you have to hope that the pack creator knew what they were doing (hint, not all of them do). You're right, learning to set up load orders and such can be a laborious, painful process at first, but well worth it in the end.
Kiruthekitty Posted April 18, 2024 Author Posted April 18, 2024 I've never been able to get myself a stable build in the past. I always get lost with the load order stuff. Though it has been years since I've tried, maybe I will try again and see if it's gotten any easier.

There are some good pinned threads/tutorials in the forums here on LL. I also recommend youtube videos by Gopher and Gamer Poets.
Kiruthekitty Posted April 19, 2024 Author Posted April 19, 2024 The tutorials and such never really make sense to me. I just tried putting together a build using Mod Organizer. I can finally get it to sort of launch, but all it does it show a black screen for a moment. I assume it's a CTD, but I have no idea what's causing it or how to fix it. Suppose all I can do is try and find a collection to play instead.

Suppose all I can do is try and find a collection to play instead. start smaller and build up to it. Find something you like. Look at what it requires. Install the first of those, launch the game, and do any configuration you need. Some frameworks don't actually do much so there might be no need to actually play, just make sure the game launches and doesn't crash. Then install the next part needed, then the next, then the actual mod (since you're having problems it is best to do it bit by bit.) Then find the next mod you want, and repeat the process. That way, if something fails when you start the game you can undo the last mod (or just uncheck it in Mod organizer), relaunch to double check, then read the requirements again and see what you missed. Post on a forum thread for the mod that isn't working what other mods you have, ask if there is a known conflict (after you have looked for one) and get that mod working. Eventually you'll be able to play the game, but it will be solid and if it breaks you'll know where to start looking when you have just added something else. You will also have a game setup that has all of what you want, nothing some pack author put in and you will know your setup enough that you can tweak things to make it perfect... ish. There will always be something you want that no one has made yet... or started but did not get out of WIP/Alpha.

Really? There is no "one-click" solution. If you are not prepared to put in the time and effort then you may as well give up now and save yourself the pain and frustration. Hell, you can't even put enough effort into looking at Nexus collections to find any with "adult" in the title. Edited April 19, 2024 by Grey Cloud

Nor should they nexus and ll are two different sites, nexus collections are collections of nexus mods, they would not, unless permissions are granted be allowed to include stuff hosted here.
Anyone who modifies games will find out that they spend around 50-75% of their time not on the game itself but on the mods... so they spend more time working on the mods than on the finished game to enjoy. Certainly, mod compilations provide a solution for people who have little time or little drive to learn the skills they need... and this learning process is actually never complete. The Achilles heel of this concept, however, is the fact that even the slightest installation error means that such a collection cannot work - or a mod from this collection has since been updated (by the actual author) and now conflicts with other mods from the collection arise. Or the “godlike” game manufacturer has once again given the base game an update - so many mods no longer work as a result. Another problem - mod lists do not always fully satisfy your wishes - you might want to have one or two mods for this "build"... but that doesn't work - because you simply don't have the necessary knowledge - with mods -Lists - which have 2,000 entries. And you'll have noticed from the reaction of the users above me - that on a site where, among other things, mod authors exchange ideas with each other - such lists are very, very unpopular... authors often have their consent for their works to be included in such lists not granted at all ... but are now intended to help users of these lists find and fix errors. And without a practical program to organize your mods, you will ALWAYS fail as a beginner... now the MO2 is certainly a very good solution - but with a huge learning curve... i.e. it takes a lot of time to learn how to use it. Learning is quicker with "Vortex" - but it reaches its limits when it comes to complex mod builds... Personally, "Vortex" is enough for me - I manage 500 or more mods with it - but I've also learned - where I can't do it blindly " Recommendations" can be trusted. For example, I also use my games to create and tell stories - which I publish in the blog section of this forum... click on the links at the end of this post... I have a blog entry for "Fallout 4". about the mods I use In order to acquire the necessary knowledge for such mod builds as a "complete beginner", several hundred hours of learning are necessary.
