Guest Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I think Skyrim really needs something equivalent to the Oblivion gates/realm, not only for it's creepyness but also for the complete shift of tone that brought a bit variety into Oblivion's copy pasted but calm and bright looking forests. Skyrim consist pretty much of nothing but snow, rocks and trees. Oh and Skyrim's vanilla children...creepy as fuck. Now just imagine slapping the zombie texture onto those...things. Well we have the Soul Cairn if you have Dawnguard installed. The soul cairn isn't really creepy though, it's just a bit eerie and... bleak. Like, really bleak. I know but it's bleak...and so is the rest of Skyrim. Hermaeus Mora's realm brought in some fresh air but it's way too small and you barely spend time in it. Solstheim itself continues the proud Skyrim tradition of snow, rocks and trees with a bit of ash to give a new paint job. With Tropical Skyrim and Solstheim Climate Overhaul it's somewhat bearable but that doesn't count because it's not a vanilla feature. Anyway, back to creepy stuff...I guess hagraven are kinda creepy simply because of how freaking ugly they are and the fact that they were "normal" women in the past...still not as bad as the Broodmother from Dragonage though.
Hayleyrose2323 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Sounds of Skyrim civilization is beginning to creep me out just a tad bit. I was running around the companion place (cant remember the name, im dumb) but all of a sudden I could hear a muffled screaming from a woman outside. Sounded like she was screaming for someone.
Guest Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 One of the creepiest things for me in Skyrim are the cross dressing Draugr. You know, bearded draugr with female bodies caused by the random vanilla system. Another creepy bug present in the vanilla game are some of the male Reavers of Solstheim walking and running with the female animations. ?

nooblet123 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Spiders. The first time I met a Giant Frostbite Spider, I threw my mouse all over the desk. Even after I modded them to peaceful, harmless, nice, friendly and coward, I still shoot them mercilessly for being TEH ULTIMATE CREEPZ. They don't look real right. They look more like crabs or cartooney spiders. Belethor. That NPC just creeps me out everytime I hear him say "Do come back..." after bartering with him. Not sure why, but it has creeped me out from the very first time I heard him say that, and it still does nearly 2 yrs later. I agree with Otakaiser as well - the Falmer are pretty creepy. Surprisingly the Frostbite spiders don't creep me out very much at all, and that's with having near-phobia reactions to living spiders. Strange. Maybe it's because I can set them on fire in Skyrim and not worry about burning down the house ... You should play "Dark Messiah", thank me for the nightmares later You can set them (the spiders) on fire there and that doesn't prevent them from being SCARY. There is a lot of them too...... I got shivers from typing this......
Roarke Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Those damn dwarven spiders. I'm not creeped out by them, so this may be irrelevant to this thread, it's just the fact that they jump out of those steam pipes when you get too close. I forget that I have aura whisper and I try to keep sneaking to get the drop on the falmer, but those damn dwarven spiders always detect me when I'm way too close to the pipes they spawn in. I never keep track of which areas they spawn in, so all I hear is a steam pipe opening and I turn around just in time to get a face full of dwarven spider legs. It doesn't help that I play archers.
Guest Alterspirit Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 As a light arachnophobic, those goddamn frostbite spiders in any situation will scare the shit out of me. I don't know if you'd call that 'creepy' but in case that isn't what you're looking for.. probably the Frostflow Lighthouse. Seriously, if you haven't been there with a dark ENB, you'll need to go back. All those sounds and the family.. It's pretty sad but after reading the journals and with the sounds kicking in, the place turns into a nightmare. So there. Creepy shit for you.
teitogun Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Honestly, the Thalmor. They creep the hell out of me. The actual dark elves in the TES mythos are hardly the darkest of the elves. The "good guy" i.e. light skinned elves are portrayed as totally sinister and cruel. Look at what they did to poor Thorvald! Even when they aren't chasing you all across the open areas of the map for no other reason than looking at them funny, you get the feeling that behind all their civility and elvish courtesy lies a pathological desire to exterminate all non-Altmer life off Tamriel. And that my friends, is scary. All elves are actually kind of creepy. They have sharp, exaggerated facial features, almond shaped eyes, and give off a definite sense of belonging to a different species. It's a change (and I say a welcome one) from the stereotype portrayal of elves in fantasy as ultra-beautiful, ultra white Mary Sues/sexual fantasies. But at least with the Bosmer and Dunmer, you can get a sort of bro or sis vibe going (ohh Jenassa...), but with the high elves you know that there's something about them that doesn't seem quite right. Dragons. Vanilla dragons aren't too scary once you level up your character to the point where he or she can 1hKO then from a bow. But with Deadly Dragons, SKYRE and other mods installed which make your experience into a genuine misery of survival, the roar of an approaching dragon as it swoops down to take a bite out of you at the most inopportune time can be truly terrifying.
buttnine Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hagravens. Even after I kill them I want to keep killing them. I want to kill them until they die from it.
Hayleyrose2323 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 Draugr have always creeped me out. Everytime I walk past one thats laying down, I always walk slow to make sure there not gonna get up, then of course i hear some creaking behind me and i turn around and BAM EVIL SKELLY!!!! lol

Always good fun. Kind of like sniping a spider off of a wall with a rubber band
Veladarius Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 The little white spiders in Solstheim, especially the ones attached to people and controlling them.
jbezorg Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Dwemer machines, the fact that they run on soul gems, and some poor sod can trapped in that colossus for 2000+ years.
Mud Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 One of the playing girls in Solitude say something like " my uncle says i'm gorgeous. But i don't no what that means." maybe i misinterpreted it ( i'm not native english), but my first thought was, "what a perv! " I was a little bit disgusted by that cannibal cult. why are they eating their victims raw? they not evan use knifes and bite directly in the skin... The girl says "gregarious", not "gorgeous". Her uncle (the innkeeper) is saying she's very sociable.
xenic Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 The vampire near Morthal comes to mind. She is trying to resurrect the dead child and the child's ghost is scared of her. What did she want to do that made a ghost not want to be alive.

Oversette Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Wispmothers. So... ethereal. And, of course, some modders: Crimes Against Nature, WereChair and Macho Dragon, anyone?
h38fh2mf Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 If mods are allowed then this is the creepiest thing I've ever seen in Skyrim: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cXuWBMZfi8 Starts around 2:00 if you're impatient, but watching the whole thing adds to the horror.

Kodiak Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Maybe I'm a bit desensitized to the creepy (or lack thereof) in Skyrim, but one thing that still gets me to jump a little, even now are those damnable slaughterfish! Like water ninja or something. Ya cant see them from the surface and it the water is murky, I get this sense of dread that one is just going to charge at me from the depths. Often times.... I think that just in time to whoosh behind me and there it is. As for genuinely creepy... meh... nothing really impressive comes to mind at the moment. Now if there was content or mods that added certain events referenced from the book throughout Skyrim and Oblivion, then we'd be in business. The "Cabin in the Woods" one where the warrior cuts through a hunted forest trying to get home just to be harassed by a woman's spirit each night. The one I loved but cant remember the name of was from Oblivion which was a play, where two thieves were in an old burnt out house and one is seeing the spirits play out the night a werewolf killed the residence. Things like that should be in game, just as fun little lore encounters. Folk and fiction that was based on more truth then people would like to admit too.
Idjaijdsiojdaoida Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Well I thought it might have been a easter egg in the Sounds Of Skyrim Wilds or something, because that would make sense I guess, but not sure. Seeing on google if anyone else has heard any weird things like this. Because theres one easter egg where I distant voice yells Vengeance! I also heard the vengeance voice. I heard it after I killed that one Shatter-shield daughter for the first primary contract for the dark brotherhood, when I went to the house of shatter-shield I heard it. I theorize it is supposed to be Sithis
Guest Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 You want the Creepy???7? Cool cool... So in vanilla SKYRIM how all the Falmer have Enslaved Man & Mer but there are also No female Falmer, so they must violently rape a lot of ppl then eat their flesh bc there's carcases In most of their dungeons. :^[ SpOOooOky Also after Hundreds of hours of playing vanilla Skyrim using over 5 different Characters I saw a Headless Horseman Ghost outside of DragonBridge but that was cool
Camila Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I think it's creepy that quest from Peryite to get yourself the Spellbreaker. Those inflicted people keep vomiting at you... D: Then there's the Reaper's Lair inside Soul Cairn and the Reaper itself. But the most eww part was doing the Namira quest to receive her ring. The Dragonborn suddenly goes cannibal... like wtf?

We need more cannibal mods seriously, it's traditional for bosmers, i think it's mandatory in the Green Pact
