formel Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 For all those who feel "not normal" or think they don't fit into their surrounding society listen to one of our greates: the psychoanalyst Erich Fromm A translation for the not german speaking reader/listener The most normal are the sickest and the sickest are the healthiest. That sounds witty or perhaps pointed but I'm very serious about it and its not a funny formula. The human, who is ill, shows that certain human things are not so suppressed, that he comes into conflict with the patterns of the culture and that he create symptoms due to this friction. The symptome is like the pain only a sign that something is wrong. Lucky who has a symptome. How lucky is the one who has pain when he is ill, we know when the human would not fell pain, that we were in a very dangerous situation. But a lot of humans that means the normals have themself so adjusted, they have so left every thing what is their own, they are so alienated, they are instruments, they have become so robotic, that they feel no conflict any more. That means their real feeling, their love, their hatred is so repressed or so stunted that they form the picture of a chronic light schizophrenia. -second part- That the humans, like Marx said, make their own history. He said once: the history does nothing, she figths no fights and wins no battles, it is the human, who does everything. But this human is influenced by his surroundings and not only in the sense of the French philosophy of enlightment by the surroundings viewed superficial but by the structur of the socitey he lives in, which has one tendency: namely to shape his psychic energies in such a way that the human likes to do that what he has to do that this society in its specific form can exist. -End- So keep on everyone to swim against the tide, and always think critical So I think for to today I exhausted all my positivity.

The man is right you know? Lately I have felt more and more like a robot rather than a person. Like Alan Watts metaphor of the driver and the car. Hell! I have throughout my life drawn cybernetic limbs and body mods on paper. Imagining what replacing my arms would be like. And to be honest: I don't exactly want to abide to societies oppression of my life path. Sadly with our current state of affairs, I see no other course but to shoulder the burden for as long as I have to.

Aww. thanks formel. Coincidence? Or maybe there is more; maybe a higher might wants you to learn German instead of Chinese. Yes, if only we're living on the same continent. Emily would learn Germany & French. German probably aren't as hard as Chinese. At least we don't have to decrypt every words to read. Chinese are pretty much business and leisure linguist on asia as much as english. Chances here in asia, if they don't speak english, they speak chinese.

Yes German is not that hard, but its also one of the hardest languages on the world. For me, english is much easier than german. As e.g. in english theres only the article "the", but in german there are "der, die, das" and much much more things.
Thulas Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I wonder if I ever will be able to earn my bread with writing.
MikeMetal Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 For now, I'm enjoying this remaining week where I don't work. Too bad it started heavy snowing. Or maybe not that bad.. considering I don't have to endure it on my way to work at this time.
Emily Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 @thulas If you wish to be a writer, you'll have to beat cocaine cobra or nonusnomeni in wit contest. And readed all these: The more you read the better your writing concept will be. it's simple concept but the more you read them the more it gets complicated. Humanity are ... interesting.
Ghost Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 I just realized that i sit only with a t-shirt and panties in front of my computer and im freezing hard... *Lucky that my gf is at home so she can warm me.
LordJerle Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I've developed a habit of sanitizing my toilet seat whenever I go to sit down on it. It stems from both working in the janitorial position at Wal Mart for a year (the ladies room is far worse than the men's room, no lie), and having a dirty roommate. I won't go into detail as to what he does, but yeah, you wouldn't blame me if you knew. I think I'll actually make a top ten list now, just cuz. 1) I'm really short, 5'3 (around 160 CM for those who use the metric system exclusively). I used to have a complex about it, like I'd get insanely pissed if somebody even brought up my height, but then I met an awesome woman, fell in love with her, and she helped me get over that and some other unneeded chips on my shoulder, although I do still have quite a few personality quirks. 2) I was literally raised as a nerd. Our family time was Star Trek night, and my dad's the one who got me into Dragonball Z, and anime as a whole. You couldn't tell by looking at him, but yeah, huuuuge geek :-P 3) I hate crowds. Seriously, with a passion. They make me nervous. Not because I feel like everybody's judging, but because it's like I can feel them thinking. All the people, I can just kind of sense them around me, and it bugs the shit out of me. I also work faster and better by myself. When my co-workers in the back room go to lunch, I stay around and get more done in the hour that they're gone than I would have if they were there. Possibly for the same reason, or because I feel like I'm more free to do things my way. 4) I don't like big cities. I feel squashed in them. I grew up in a small town, and I like the freedom. I grew up in eastern Washington, right along the Idaho border, surrounded by woods, and I loved going riding on the trails outside of town. I don't have that kind of freedom in big cities, and I hate it. 5) I love rock and some country. Depends on my mood. Mostly older stuff when it comes to rock, but I like a few newer songs too. My average listening habits are 80's-90's rock, with a bit of 60's-70's mixed in. They play the top 40 station at work and I hate it. I seriously do wish somebody would blow up the damn radio station. It'd be a service to the human race. If I hear "call me maybe" one more time, I swear I'll go insane. (I hate gangsta rap and pop music with a passion. It's repetitive, mostly riddled with bad singing and synth edits, and most of the singers are tone deaf beyond all imagination). 6) I hate most modern movies. It seems like they pander to an audience who'll watch anything. Man of Steel and Dark Knight Rises were just insulting to me. Man of Steel was about 10 minutes of plot and 2 hours of CG with crappy acting and an incomprehensibly bad story, and yeah... they just did Batman dirty with the last one. 7) I try to avoid buying gummy multi-vitamins and go for the solid ones, although I'll give in and buy them now and then. Mainly because I end up eating the whole damn thing in one sitting and it gives me really bad gas. 8) (Don't take this as political discussion, I'm merely providing information about myself) I'm a Progressive Liberal, and I really do end up facepalming and what the fucking over a lot of things conservatives say, especially when I ask for a source and they provide me with conservative propaganda that's easily ripped to shreds with a little of my own research. 9) I used to be a church going Christian, but some stuff happened, and it turned me athiest. Honestly, if God exists, he's a sick son of a bitch, and if I met him, first thing I'd do is punch him in the throat, consequences be damned. I look at the past, think about what was said in church, and it angers me, because now it feels like they were just forcefeeding me their own ideals. I lived in Oklahoma for 10 years, and looking back, yeah, they preached love, but they taught hate, intolerance, prejudice, and anger. We're all the same species, doesn't matter what color skin you have or where you moved from. Grow up and get over it. Only way we'll move forward as a species is if everybody sucks it up and pitches in, otherwise we're screwed, mostly over stupid shit. 10) Now that I'm making this list, I guess I have to put this, because it's really the only thing that matters about me. I've talked about my quirks, my beliefs, my height, what kind of music I listen to, even about what gives me gas, but this is the most important fact. I am a father. I can't escape that fact, and it haunts me. Both my fiancee and my daughter died about 11 years ago, and my last thought of the day is still telling them both I love them, and the first thing I think about is the fact that I can't kiss them both good morning, and it makes me angry inside. Life's not fair, there's no such thing as fair, and to pretend otherwise is a lie. You might say there's equal trade, that much is true. 1:1 ratio, it's pure math, but there's no fair in the world. We live our lives the best we can, and if we're lucky enough, we find that one person that makes us a better person just for having known them, and I have, and they're both gone. There's no meaningless sex, no awesome porn, no music, and no video game that can change that fact or fill the void. If I didn't have the awesome friends that I have, I wouldn't be here.
AwfulArchdemon Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I dislike country music. It literally gives me a headache, and drains my will to live. I HATE GOLDEN OLDIES!!!!! IT'S LIKE 70 YEARS OLD! MOVE ON GEEZERS!! Some seriously talentless music right there...plus, most of those songs are about a guy whose girlfriend is fucking his friend(s), and he's crying his pussy eyes out, and begging her to come back to him, or it's about how beautiful his 13 yr old girlfriend is, and how everyone wants to dance with her. I love heavy metal, gangsta rap (old-school, like Wu-Tang and Onyx), and Bruno Mars (I gave him his own genre). I'm the first in, and last out, of a mosh pit!! Oddly enough, I kinda like classical piano, just because it makes me want to learn how to play it. Guitar and piano are my bread and butter. Also, I'm girl-crazy by nature. Looooooooooooooove women!! Edit: Whoops! Sorry LordJerle! It wasn't an argument. I read that part of your post after I posted mine. My bad. And you're right, "Call me Maybe" must DIE! I dislike pop music too, but for some reason, Bruno Mars is the one and only exception. I can sing it well, and play it all on piano, and guitar. Maybe that's why. That, and women love it when I do just that. It goes way beyond an ice-breaker.
Emily Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Emily finally get her debtors pay their debt.
Rasta the Lion Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I miss my pride. We were several lions, nothing much but we share a bond like no one else out there. Ah... I still have thoughts from time to time. They should have never stept on humans cannabis fields. Smoked out had a literally meaning that day.

I probably could earn my livings with music if my parents hadn't let me take a break from learning piano when I was a child.
Emily Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Seriously people, don't ask personal question on emily's forgotten thread. No one want to enter her world. Leave emily to her misery. That way she won't harm or disappoint you in Dysphoria.
Dallas-Arbiter Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I don't go outside unless I really have to.
