gsguns Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 There was another thread that some dude asked for why "Sex" mods? 90% of the guys who answered said it was for immersion. Understandable But, now I need someone to explain me, why people are obscessed with those skimpy stuff. It is lore breaking seeing women walk around semi naked, even more, because the armors were meant to protect not to be cute.
Halstrom Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Not because we want to, because we can. I've got no idea how my semi-naked Fallout women keep interfering with your Skyrim game, you must have installed something wrong, Load Order?
Mud Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Because sometimes people just don't give a damn about immersion and lore breaking. Other times, people don't lose their immersion just because someone's walking around with huge cleavage. I personally fall somewhere in between the two - I don't much care about keeping Skyrim in line with its "original" incarnation, the absolute malleability is why I like Elder Scrolls at all - it sure ain't for the plotlines and gameplay, I tells you. At the same time, I have no problem imagining my current save's game world telling a persisting story while a pink-haired anime catgirl sells an enchanted golden bikini to a female shopkeeper who happens to be clad in an outfit three sizes too small for her.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Because I have a body replacer and damnit, I'm gonna see it!
Guest airdance Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Another reason is because this game is played mostly by young men (and women) at the peak of their sexuality who get to immerse themselves in their favourite fantasy without hurting anyone. But here is the best part....if you do not like the mods, do not use them. Because when all is said and done this is Just A Game. If it feels good do it, if you like it, do it again.
Spyder Arachnid Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Because it's their game and if they want skimpy outfits they can have them. Do you really need a reason why someone likes something?
Mumin Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Most people like porn. Most people hate admitting they like porn. Hence dodgy answers like "immersion" for sex mods (even though it may at least partially be true in some cases.) Further, has anyone actually said they wanted skimpy armor for immersion?
Koko.Hekmatyar Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Personally I like the Skimpy Armors because I use body tatoos and I like to be able to see them without having to completely strip down my character. P.s. I'm an adult female btw not some adolescent kid who likes to look as semi naked 2D chars.
dboura Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Regardless of popular belief, skimpy armors within this time-framed style is lore. Granted the various styles are not very lore friendly, but skimpy and nudity was actually used by celts and some other civilizations in conjunction with war paints when going into battle. The same can be said about lore friendliness when it comes to full plate styled armor too. They were way to heavy, hot, and bulky to actually have been any use in true battles and were primarily used for ceremonies and other activities where hampered movement didn't really matter, like jousting. But in games, eye-candy, styles, fantasy, .. many reasons and within the world their fantasy portrays, it is lore friendly. Regardless to true lore, when it comes to actual games and gamers, actual lore from devs is always a guideline that is more often than not, pieced apart by those playing the game into their own fantasy design. That's what makes the immersion more realistic to the gamer, is that they combine the lore from the dev's with their own fantasy style and feel part of it as it now becomes a part of their fantasy world. At least that's how I have always viewed lore to be within all the gaming styles I've done. PNP, CG, Console, etc..

We're talking about Skyrim lore not real life history, there aren't any Celts or Gauls in Tamriel.
Endiness Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 All wrong. Less clothing means less work in both design and rigging. That's it.
TheDriedFinger Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I'm gonna stick with "for immersion", as my personal reason. If you're running Niruin's Business Plan or my mod, then it's pretty important for immersion that the player's "employees" look visually appealing.
Kaz Aanh Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I've always thought that there is a lack of interesting full-plate female armour designs.
Lodakai Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 It really depends on your imagination and what you like to feed it. People Include sex and skimpy armors for the same reason that comic books feature skintight clothing.. and why romance novels are popular. It is not the visual representation itself. As has been expressed in the other thread you alluded to, there is plenty of porn to be found on the internet. But there is a big difference between porn (offering little in the way of sparking ones imagination) and artistic representation. Immersion is not about being lore friendly or even realistic. It is about being able to lose yourself in a thought, idea, situation, or event that you would either not normally be able to.. or that is outside the range of what you would normally do within reality. People who would never take a flamethrower to a goat... would gladly torch one in skyrim because of the effect. There is, of course, another reason. It just looks better to the person using it. The female form can be digitally or artistically rendered and still be beautiful. It does not have to be real. edit: I should say the Human form.. there are some ladies and a few men who appreciate the structure of the male form as well.
gsguns Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 All wrong. Less clothing means less work in both design and rigging. That's it. You're talking about mesh modelling or real life tailoring?
Suludi Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Besides, Celtic women didn't go into a fight naked. And women usually just don't run through the world killing people and exploring dungeons. There is nothing "medieval" or "immersive" about that. In this case, I say screw it. I find most armour, robes and clothing in Skyrim hideously ugly, and the modded schoolgirl / porn actress stuff does nothing for me. So my current char runs around naked. Since she has a werewolf and a permanent fire atronach as followers and shifts to werewolf in a fight herself, it works quite well. Needless to say, I don't use Frostfall. The white stuff in the North doesn't bother her one bit. She's a pixel woman and doesn't know cold. So why skimpy? Cause sexy.
Veladarius Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Because I play in 3rd person all the time (Fallout and Oblivion too) and if I am going to be staring at my characters rear I may as well enjoy it. Everyone else is a bonus.
Athenaa Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 This is like asking about stripping at a strip club..

Mumin Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Well, men in short skirts (and a sensibly protected abdomen) have been quite common through history........but that's not terribly representative of the kinds of skimpy armor we can find here Ironic side note:One of the few rpgs I found sufficiently immersive and mature for unnecessary porn to be detrimental to the atmosphere was.....The Witcher Oversized boobs felt a bit unnecessary in games like Planescape Torment and Risen too.
Nite_Star Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I love bounty tits, sexy butts and bush,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Oh and SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX...
cornbreadtm Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 ...Because I'm a grown ass man and can do whatever the fuck I want...
Ruskii420Sama Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Let me ask a question: Why do you give 2 fucks? I mean, I give less fucks than Tyler, the Creator gives about LeBron James Asshole tattoo, but I dont go around asking people why they like it... Just saying, they pick their shit, they post it, or keep it to their self. We have fun, we laugh, fap, play, cry, and come back looking for moar! God Damnit we love some tits, you must be homosexual if you dislike the sight of massive titties flopping down the stairs from the cload district of Whiterun...
germ Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 For me personally I just don't prefer them. It's stupid and unrealistic, I prefer realism in the games I play, I could care less about skyrims lore. In turth, I wish Skyrim was a different game, I wish it was a game set in the real world with real history. But since there is no single player rpg with mods out there like that I'm stuck in Skyrim. I like to download armors that are sexy, but not skimpy with only a thong and a top that's so skimpy it might as well not even be there. It's one of the only downsides to using CBBE, all the armors are shitty unrealistic crap. There's only a few armors that are actually decent, where as with UNP there is tons of options. But I LIke bodyslide, I like being able to create the body the way I like it, so I'm stuck with CBBE. Yes I'm aware that UNP has a bodyslide mod, but it's not the same. Edits hands are froze up from training jeet kune do all day, effecting my typing.
