When I try to use the Overtuned origin or certain unique cybernetic traits, all the portraits in my species end up looking the same as the ruler's portrait. I suspect it might be a compatibility issue with other mods, but I'm hoping someone might have advice on how to fix this? Have you tested this with only VF+LV active? 1

Having a similar issue, tested it with only those mods and everything worked fine. I tracked my issue down to Mango's Lewd Diplomacy. If it IS Mango causing it for anyone else, a solution has been found here Edited July 8, 2025 by pennyfeild 2

I'm not seeing any popups on the current version of VF, the problem was likely coming from another mod or an unclean installation (meaning you didn't delete the old mod when installing a new version).

If you had any steam mods in the playlist, they probably updated and fixed the issue. During my own process of exterminating that bug, I found that none of the lovers lab mods were doing it, but I cant guarantee that's the case for other peoples playlists.
ted1998 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Does anyone know how to fix the problem where VFC adds a biological ship set with no portrait.

Smutley Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 (edited) How easy is it to just outright remove content from VF? For example, I want all of the Futa robot species out. What's the easiest, least damaging way to remove them from the pool? Edit: Alright, I have figured it out, I just had to delete entries in the Vanilla Framework\gfx\portraits\portraits .txt files and boom I managed to trim out some of the stuff I didn't like. I also was fiddling around in Gimp to replace some of the artwork with my own and made some personal changes. I took a look in the presapient folder and I saw that the toxoid one was in my opinion quite lame (just a Vault girl - boring!). I'd personally recommend changing the presapient toxoid portrait with the one I uploaded, it fits the theme way more. 😁 Edited August 16, 2025 by Smutley

I'd personally recommend changing the presapient toxoid portrait with the one I uploaded, it fits the theme way more. I advise inexperienced modders against making any edits to the portrait files, as you can easily break things in them. If you remove any portraits (individual images) or species (groupings of portraits) mid-game, any species or leaders that were using the removed content will have empty portraits for that save. If you delete an entire species from the portrait files, you must also remove it from the portrait sets, otherwise you will have a blank species being used by the game. If you want to remove individual portraits from a species, make sure you are starting a new game, and use a find/replace tool to remove all occurrences of that portrait from the species. If you want to make edits to portrait files, look into my Stellaris Portrait File Generator, as it will allow you to automatically generate bug-free portrait files. The best way to remove an entire species from the game is to remove it from the portrait sets found in the common folder. This will prevent it from being used in any randomly generated content or being seen in the empire creator, but the species will still be available for usage in events, so no events that rely on the species will be broken. You can also easily replace individual portraits by simply replacing their image files with new image files of the same name. For example, if you wanted to change the portrait for 10MamF1, you would make a new 10MamF1.dds file and use it to replace the one that comes with the mod. I agree that the vault girl does not strongly fit the toxoid theme, your image does seem like a more sensible option for the presapient toxoids portrait and will be implemented in the next update. Thank you for your image contribution, and feel free to ask more questions about modding - I encourage personalization of this mod and am always happy to help others learn to mod.
Lemon123321 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 What exactly is meant by point 3? because usually i just extract the two files from the downloaded mod and put them into the mod folder, i was wondering if someone could explain this please.

The files that you download from LoversLab are zip files. Zip files can contain a bunch of other files inside of them, and they are smaller (which makes them easier to upload and download) because they go through compression algorithms to produce them. In order to get the files outside of the zip file, you need to use a program like winrar or 7zip to extract the contents, which bring the contained files outside of the zip, where they can be used. The zip files in VF each contain a folder (containing the the mod's content) and a .mod file (the game uses this to organize mods). You need to download the zipped files for both Vanilla Framework and VF Portraits, extract the content from them, then place the extracted content (these are the files and folders listed in step 3) in the mod folder for Stellaris. How to extract zip files: https://www.wikihow.com/Unzip-a-File
Lemon123321 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 anyone know anything about this popup and why it keeps popping up after i start a game, this isn't the only mod this happens with but just asking if anyone knows what this is about?

I just tested the current version of Vanilla Framework Continued on the latest version (only the latest version is supported by this mod) of Stellaris, and its working fine. You'll have to disable some mods and test without them in order to find the mod that is causing the problem. The best practice for setting up mod lists is to only add one or a few mods at a time and test them before adding more.
Lemon123321 Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Hay, where can i get my hands on a version of this mod that works on older versions of stellaris, its mentioned where the file was posted that there was a legacy version

I'm getting the impression you're thinking its a website that uses tokens for images, but its not that. To put it in brief, if you have the right graphics card in your computer (nvidia, typically), you can install an image generator locally, and forge is one of those. It opens your browser as the UI and you run everything locally, which also means you don't need tokens and you can customize it extensively. I'll send a link or two to you, if you're at the leisure to DM me. If you want the metadata from the raw images I generated, I can also send you those too.
