Spyder Arachnid Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 That.... is odd lol. I'll check it out and see what the issue might be. That's really weird to see.
gvman3670 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Yup, pretty freakin' odd. Kind of unnerving to be totally honest. Since my PC was already in Whiterun I went looking for Lucia since she wasn't made over in my old version of SK. I found her and when she turned around it almost freaked me out!
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Have you tried using the ressurect command? Or moving to a different area, doing the wait thing, then checking again? Just finally got my Skyrim freshly installed and ran around for a bit checking all the kids, and they all look fine in my game. They look nothing like your screenshots. I'm thinking that maybe you just need a refresher on them, since you were using a different replacer before. Usually when you swap mods around that mess with the same things, it can mess things up. Just requires a refresh to get things back on track again. Otherwise, I'm unsure what could be causing that issue. Did you try optimizing the textures (the textures should already be optimized so that might cause an issue if you do it again)?
gvman3670 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Nope, didn't try optimizing. I'll try the resurrect thing and post back.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 By the way, here's a couple quick pictures I took in my game of the some of the kids around Whiterun and Dragonsreach. Nelkir Frothar Lucia Mila Valentia Lars Battle-Born The female armors don't really look like that normally by the way. Just for some reason my adult armor replacer is affecting the kids. Guessing cause there isn't a vanilla version of that armor scaled to the kids yet. Which is out of my expertise sorry. Hopefully en_hawk will convert some more of the armors and clothes over, so your kids don't wear the adult versions.
gvman3670 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I just tried console commands (kill then resurrect and just ressurect) to no avail. And I tried changing my load order and even changing the .esp's name. Nope, no dice. One odd thing, though. Each time I quit then go back into the game the colorful pattern on Lucia's face changes. I guess my next move is to try a different MO profile and see if that happens there, too.
ChipyChops Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 could you of overwritten some files with the older version, like textures /meshes
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Nope, couldn't overwrite anything while using Mod Organizer. And I removed the old versions from the MO folder altogether before adding this newer one. So here's what I got while playing with a different profile and character, one that never had the older version activated in. On a side note, I see that this version of Braith is wearing an alternate barmaid outfit that I recolored a few days ago to use on adults. So just HOW did it give her boobs anyway?
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Here is Braith and the Battleborn kid with the normal vanilla child replacer .esp file.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 The "boobs" thing happens when the kids are wearing an adult outfit that hasn't been converted to the SkyKids body yet. No idea why they are that big, cause they are nothing like that in my game. It seems you do have a conflict somewhere, I just don't know where. I mean if you're getting that boob issue and faces issue, it's gotta be a conflict somewhere. No idea where, as like I showed in my post, I'm having no conflicts or issues anywhere. I don't use MO, I use NMM, so I'm wondering if somewhere in all your different profiles and installing/uninstalling, something got mixed up and is now conflicting with each other. Only thing I can suggest is to try it on a fresh game without SkyKids to see if the problem arises, then try reinstalling SkyKids and see what happens. Sorry it's not working out for you, but since I can't produce the issue myself, it's kind of hard to help with it.
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 No biggie. I will keep plugging away and see if I can figure it out. I even went so far as to try changing out the skin textures. The textures changed, but the face is still wonky. And this profile/character/save never had SkyKids added to it, so it's not an artifact from the older version. I did add the ECE chargen morph extension. I never thought of trying it without that added. Hmmm.....be right back.

Here's a secret: Racemenu 2.7 no longer requires chargen - everything is built in and it auto-detects custom races. That could be your conflict.
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I am using ECE. I tried it with and without that optional tidbit. Same funky colors on the faces. So I started a brand new profile/character, even a SkyKid female Nord, and the other kids still had their odd colored faces, at least all of 'em in Solitude. Yet the normal replacer .esp still works fine. Damn it. I really wanted to use these kids you built, Spyder. And I might be able to yet. I'll keep digging. There must be a reason for this and I'm just not seeing it. But on a brighter note, I did make my first SkyKid PC. Meet Kylie, a new redhead I just threw together. I didn't realize that Nightasy's "Hmmm....What to Wear" for UNPetite would get patched by the Skyproc. Cool stuff. And I didn't think I'd be able to use all these hairs I've got, but I got Apachii, SG and Oblivion to all work. WOOT! Anyway, I will continue to look for the cause of this. When (or IF? ) I find it I will be sure to post it up in case it can help someone else.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I THINK I might know the issue. What graphics setting are you using? From your screens, it looks like low or medium. If that's the case, it might be the textures themselves, as they don't have mipmaps (the exported textures from the CK didn't have mipmaps, so I didn't create any). Let me make some mipmaps for the textures, and I'll upload it here again. Then try those out and see if it works for you. Give me a few minutes.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Alright, try this. I just repacked the whole mod. These textures now have mipmaps added to them, so hopefully that fixes the issue. I'll keep searching though for answers until you get back to me and let me know if that fixed it. *crosses fingers* SkyKids - Alternative Child Replacer.rar

No idea why they are that big, cause they are nothing like that in my game. That outfit was one that came with the Venus Girl body mod. And that body has some HOOOOOOOters. Like UNPB, but bigger and with a bit more "weight". So even downsized (apparently Skyproc patched) it still was made for boobs.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yeah the skyproc patcher, in a basic sense, "flags" any armor mods you have to work with SkyKids, regardless of their shape or size. It does it this way, so it is not overwriting any of your already existing mods and vanilla armors. At least that's my understanding of it. I just know it pulls some voodoo magic and makes all my armor mods work on SkyKids. lol

I don't support configurations using ECE, that could be part of your problem. The latest race menu(or alternatively a legacy CGE+patch) is recommended. Alright, try this. I just repacked the whole mod. These textures now have mipmaps added to them, so hopefully that fixes the issue. I'll keep searching though for answers until you get back to me and let me know if that fixed it. *crosses fingers* You're probably right, I've seen this issue before but didn't think to ask if you had mipmap generation turned off. Thanks for taking the time to figure it out and repack it all. Now I wouldn't expect anyone else to have any troubles either. Cool stuff, man. Thanks again.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 No prob, glad it worked. @en_hawk: Yeah I didn't even think about the mipmaps thing. Completely spaced my mind when it came to that, so I just saved them normally. But at least now I know what they were for. lol

The latest race menu(or alternatively a legacy CGE+patch) is recommended. Character generation went fine with ECE. I was missing some of the usual sliders, but it still worked pretty well. And importing saves kind of works (after a small amount of tweaking). It also allowed all the hair, brow and eye mods to work without running any other patchers.

And importing saves kind of works (after a small amount of tweaking). It also allowed all the hair, brow and eye mods to work without running any other patchers. ECE screws around with far too much stuff, and this is a perfect example of that. Those mods shouldn't work without patches, that was kind of the entire point of sandboxing the races. I'm not sure if ECE is still pushing the whole 'feature' where you have to use its base morphs or it just flat wont run on your race, but that was another huge turnoff; racemenu has 90% of the features with 0% of the problems. The official stance on the matter is to steer clear of ECE and use racemenu instead, because I don't want to get stuck trying to troubleshoot a bunch of really weird compatibility problems caused by ECE mucking around with everything.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yeah after using RaceMenu to make all the kids, I finally decided to stick with it and get rid of ECE myself. It takes some getting used to still, but in the end, I'm liking it. I do miss my vertex editor though lol. But seeing as ECE has basically been abandoned and hasn't seen an update for quite awhile, I figured it's finally time to move on. Plus RaceMenu has incorporated a lot of ECE's features (not all of them yet, but still most), so that's a plus. And the overlay system is awesome. No more having to edit my textures in Photoshop when I need to apply tattoos and such. With the overlay system I can do it right there in game. Along with multiple warpaints and tan lines, blemishes, freckles, moles, etc etc. The overlays are awesome. My favorite feature of RaceMenu. On a side note, feel free to add the fixed SkyKids - Alternative Child Replacer to the your downloads section en_hawk. I don't mind. This way it also doesn't get lost in the pages, and you can use those screens I posted a few posts back as well if you want to toss them on the main page for a preview or whatever.
ChipyChops Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I noticed the hooter thing as well, they're all using ChronnoTriggers armours, I think its because I used steam to verify the cache.
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yup, the kids have hooters. Must be something in the water in Skyrim.
