en_hawk Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 I noticed the hooter thing as well, they're all using ChronnoTriggers armours, I think its because I used steam to verify the cache. Yup, the kids have hooters. Must be something in the water in Skyrim. ScreenShot175.jpg I haven't tested the plugin yet myself, but I would assume that they all use vanilla clothing; that pretty much narrows it down to a conflict with another mod. If they are using actual 'outfit' records then that could easily be the culprit. If you're having this problem, post your load order.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Like I said earlier, the "hooters" are because those particular clothes are not converted to the SkyKids body yet. You'll notice that some armors/clothes fit the SkyKids body. Cause they are converted to it. But not all of them have been done, so some of them still use the adult version. So until those outfits in particular are converted to the SkyKids body, they will have little lumps. It is the same issue when you use, for example, the UNP body and try to wear an armor for Sevenbase. Once you put on that armor, your body will take the shape of Sevenbase cause the armor wasn't designed for UNP. You'll need it to be converted to UNP first if you want to have your body shape when you wear that armor. Same principle here. Not all of the armors and clothes in the game are converted to the SkyKids body yet. So whatever body type/oufit you are using for your default armors and clothes, they will wear that. The armors and clothes need to be converted to the SkyKids body still in order for it to fit properly. Which is sadly, out of my expertise. I tried to learn how to convert armors to different body types, but had no luck. So hopefully someone else can work on converting the rest of the vanilla armors to the SkyKids body so you won't have to deal with that much longer.
Kinky Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Is there a way to remove Skykids races from selection? I would like to replace NPCs to be less cartoonish but dont really want new races. (perhaps some optional esp?)
en_hawk Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 Is there a way to remove Skykids races from selection? I would like to replace NPCs to be less cartoonish but dont really want new races. (perhaps some optional esp?)Yeah, I was planning on setting that up at some point here real quick. Just try to ignore them for now.
ChipyChops Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Mine was definitely a cache issue, everything was working fine, then one day the canines (dogs family) stopped working and on Fores site he recommended sorting the cache out. After that it all went south. The outfits that I'm talking about are the ones that came with the npc replacers. But slowly I'm sorting it out.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 There is no outfits packed in the npc replacer. It is just faces, nothing else. All the npc replacer does is use the SkyKid race to replace the faces only of the kids in the game. That is it. The outfits are part of the SkyKids race itself, more precisely, the armor pack that comes with SkyKids that has several of the armors converted to the SkyKids body. It doesn't have all the armors converted though, so for the ones that aren't converted, it will use your default outfit (whatever that is). The npc replacer is a face change. That's it. If it bugs people too much, I could always just open up the CK and start over, and place all the kids in the basic vanilla children clothes. Only reason I even used all the different clothing was to give them all variety instead of wearing the same cookie cutter clothing. But if it's too bothersome, I'll just make a new replacer and put them all in children's clothes instead. EDIT: Well scratch that idea. Apparently, that's not going to work. Seems the regular vanilla children clothes are not visible on SkyKids. Just tried it, and the kids ended up running around in their knickers. So that's out of the question. Seen this issue in several different child replacer mods, and no idea what causes it. So guess it's time to start searching for a solution, or learn to convert vanilla armors and clothes to the SkyKids bodies, so they don't wear adult versions. Fun fun.

It should have most of, a fair chunk of, a hell of a lot less than I thought of the clothing done, I know it has all the armors done. I need to get around to finishing those up/redoing some of them at some point here. The vanilla child outfit doesn't work as its not setup like normal clothing, its set to only work on the child races. Its something that could be easily fixed with an override on my end, so that they could be used with the armor swapper yet still function normally otherwise(I'd need to convert the model too).
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Actually, you're right. I just checked the files myself and it has pretty much all of those outfits I used, in SkyKids form. So now I'm unsure why their adult armors are appearing on the kids, when those outfits are already converted to SkyKids. My only guess is something went wrong with their patching, thus why some of the kids are wearing adult versions instead of the SkyKids version. Unless it's something with the armor replacers themselves (the adult ones) that is overwriting the SkyKids ones.

Unless it's something with the armor replacers themselves (the adult ones) that is overwriting the SkyKids ones. The latter of which was my initial suggestion. The only feasibly explanation I can come up with, is that you used vanilla outfit records to clothe the NPCs(don't get me wrong, this is totally fine) as opposed to manually adding clothing items to their inventory, and some janky mod that a user has installed is overwriting the vanilla outfit records to point to custom armor/clothing with custom mesh paths converted for a particular body or what have you. Merely a guess, but it would explain the problems they're having. If something was conflicting after the fact(ie loading after the armor swapper plugin) they would just be left naked instead of seeing the adult model.

Just comical that when they don adult clothes they look almost like tiny adults.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Yeah I just picked out their outfits in the CK, because adding them manually in game would only affect my game, not the actual mod itself. But basically the same conclusion I came to as well. Gotta be something with whatever armor replacer we use for our adults, that is overwriting the SkyKids armor. It's no biggie on my end, as it doesn't bother me. They are always running around all over the place any ways for me to even notice it. But if it becomes a big deal for the majority, then you could probably do that override thing for the children's clothes and I'll just change all their clothes to use the basic vanilla children clothes if it bothers people too much.

I am using UNP BBP, Seven Base Bombshell, and UNP Top Model bodies for the non-children in my different profiles. In the last screen I uploaded that profile uses Top Model. And I use the Little Sexy Apparel Replacer mod for UNP for all the female NPCs. That may be the culprit that is putting adult clothes on the kids. Then again, if it was the culprite I'd think the kids would be wearing skimpy versions instead of vanilla versions. Meh, it's still not a deal breaker for me anyway. I realize that this is a BIG mod so there's bound to be a few oddities that can't be planned for. There are over 100000 mods out there and not everything can work perfectly together. On the bright side, not all kids are wearing adult clothes.

I meant in your plugin, not in game. You can manually set the contents of their inventory to contain whatever clothing you desire and then leave their outfit setting blank. I think this is what the original NPC replacer did. I should probably look at your plugin in tes5edit so I could make some more educated statements on the matter. Actually, you're right. As long as you understand that the conflict almost undoubtedly lies in another mod doing something shoddy that it shouldn't be, which is bound to cause conflicts with everything, SK simply happens to fall into that same 'everything' category...

Yeah I don't know all that stuff, still rather newb to the whole creation kit in general. I just went to inventory, clicked the down menu, and then selected the outfit. No idea how to add stuff to their inventory to wear without setting an outfit. But feel free to mess with it all you want lol. I'm afraid if I try, I'll break something.
ChipyChops Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 It doesn't really bother me either. You can add clothing where they have weapons.
gvman3670 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 So I thought I'd try the new Race Menu. The problem is that as soon as I deactivated ECE I no longer had it's built in racial compatibility patch and had to download a standalone version (so I used the link in the OP). Now I installed the RC.esm and the Skyproc patcher keeps telling me it's not there and I need to activate it for it to work. But it is installed and activated. I've tried it several times now with the same result each time. This is with version 1.86 and version 1.80. Edit: Never mind. I just ran LOOT before the patcher and it worked. Hmmm.....
ChipyChops Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Anyway, I think en_hawk has a good point, made a follower, her default outfit is some farm clothes (with boobies), her outfit when she followers is Gatti 5 (no boobies)

Anyway, I think en_hawk has a good point, made a follower, her default outfit is some farm clothes (with boobies), her outfit when she followers is Gatti 5 (no boobies)I'm assuming you are referring to the version converted for the CotS body...
gvman3670 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Ok really, using the wrong RC and not using BOSS? Did you even skim the instructions... Of course I did. In fact, I skimmed them a 4th or 5th time when I went and installed this newer version. The problem is that I have deleted BOSS in lieu of LOOT (BOSS's replacement from the same team). And since it works great (albeit the kids want to use some adult clothes ) I guess BOSS wasn't even required. See, BOSS needed user entries (and I still have those) to let it know where to place things. LOOT looks inside the mod then places it where it needs to go based on it's individual requirements. The good news? Installation just got a whole lot simpler, my man.

I'm aware of how LOOT works, and while in theory it is 'better', it still cant stand up to having plugin placement explicitly defined by the author(ie me). I'm not sure if LOOT even supports a userlist at present, I only tried it once and it made a bit of a mess out of my load order. BOSS is still 'required' if you want any official support, plus skyproc is still tied to it AFAIK(at least the current build of the patcher is). As I've said, the armor issue is more than likely another mod overwriting things it has no business touching(irrespective of load order), you should post your load order.
johann7124 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I have also pretty much given up using either BOSS or LOOT to set my load order. Neither of them set an efficient load order for me without extensive work first.

Neither of them set an efficient load order for me without extensive work first. That's what the userlist is for, I've got dozens of entries in mine for all sorts of mods that are incorrectly sorted.
gvman3670 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 BOSS always incorrectly sorted anything that wasn't on it's masterlist. And that hasn't been updated in a long time plus won't be ever again. If it didn't have it on it's master it just stuck it wherever, usually at the bottom. So you need userlists for SK. But LOOT recognizes it and places it accordingly, at least where it will work. Apparently. Hawk, have you run LOOT yourself to see where it places your mod? I'd be curious to see how well it works for you or for others. And if it works properly for everyone, or at least most people, then your SK mod just got a whole lot easier to install for the average user. As for the patcher, it does ask if you want to run it without BOSS. I told it yes and let it do it's thing (but it will only launch if you've already sorted with LOOT). en_hawk Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 As for sliders, here's the list of what doesn't work. Nose Selion Width no.2 Nose Tilt Cheek Shape Jaw Shape Nose Bridge Nose Width Eyelid Open Eye Angle Eye Size no.2 Brow Angle Lips Open Mouth Smile Mouth Width no.1 Lip Thickness Chin Jut Depth And then of course the custom colors. Can't use any of the Hue, Saturation, Brightness, Alpha stuff. They do nothing. Can only use the preset colors that come by default. Alright, I just tested that one myself, all of those sliders work for me on both the vanilla child and addon races, with the exception of 'chin jut depth' which doesn't work on the vanilla races either so I'm assuming that ones just flat broken ATM. I'm not sure what kind of issue you could be running into here, when I upgraded I did so on an existing game; just uninstalled CGE and its compatibility patch, then upgraded racemenu in place and everything(including existing saves) just kept working properly(and I got new sliders and stuff). The vanilla child races are literally using the exact same files as the vanilla adult races, why dont you try it out on one of the adults to make sure it works properly at all and we can go from there. I'm gonna go take a stroll through some towns and check out the new kids, now that I have your addon installed. @gvman3670: I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and guess that its LSAR, link me a download for it and I'll inspect its plugin.
Spyder Arachnid Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Well with the slider thing, no idea what was causing that. The ONLY mods I had installed at the time when I was making those kids, were these: -Apachii Sky Hairs -Oblivion Hair Pack -SkyKids -Racial Compatibility -RaceMenu -Unofficial Patches -SKSE and then of course the game and all the DLC. That is it. Nothing more, nothing less. Just what was needed for SkyKids, so I had no other mods conflicting. But after I finished making the mod and then reinstalled the rest of my mods and everything and played a Nord for awhile, all the sliders worked fine on my adult Nord when I made her face. So I don't know if the sliders relied on some other mod to be present, or if they just all don't work for SkyKids (even with the CGE compatibility patch), but a lot of them didn't work while making all those kids. But it wasn't too much of a bother. I was able to make them all regardless of the missing sliders. Was just weird is all. Especially after I made an adult character and they worked just fine. Same went for the custom colors stuff. But yeah, like I said, I'm not too bothered by it. I got the mod done, working sliders and not working sliders regardless lol.
