Yes, I saw in the latest release... oh,

btw, when it comes to paintings I do a mix of pinups and yours...

I wanted to say though is that one of your paintings is close enough to pass looking like my PC, I just may tweak her to do so, lighten her hair just a bit, a little more red in the lips, heck the jaw lines, eye color, shape and brows are spot on.

Definitely very close. I'm always trying to make sure the women in my images are varied with hair styles... Beyond that I just keep them attractive to me.

That being said, thanks for uploading this image. I love seeing my work in game screenshots. More importantly though I'm remembering how Fallout likes to cut off images... I have to keep everything REALLY centered or there's a good possibility it gets cropped. Sad... :(

I'm going to have to go in game and place all the paintings to see which ones in Settlement mode are getting cropped and fix those. The ones in the world will just have to be cropped. :(

I've a tendency to be attracted to redheads, my wife's a redhead (love her most the time. ? ). Anyway, I saw one of yours which got cropped but like I said I'm using a mix because I use ACS for paintings. posters etc... along with atomic bombshell pinups and some other one escapes my mind atm.

You do great work...

You know I'm also Sickotik Mods right? lol

Now about your comment. In my NEW packs, under the name Nuverotic, I've added PNG files to every image I created. This way you can see what they are and if you like them or not. Easy to just repackage what you like and delete the rest. Unfortunately I didn't have that foresight when I was Sickotik Mods. I was just starting my journey into modding back then. But maybe if I run out of stuff to do, before they release the creation kit and I can work on my bigger mods, I may find time to create PNG files for all my old Sickotik Mods images as well and reupload that there. Then you can go through and pick all the ones you want.
Lastly, they should NOT have different naming conventions. If they did they wouldn't work in game. So it'll be easier than you think. :) Cheers! And thanks for the compliments. Both for Nuverotic and Sickotik images.

Uh...

I just now downloaded the three sickotick mods I could find and ran a tiny script to generate png images from dds images. It failed on 16 images in your ultraepiclorefriendlyoverhaul mod (I think it's choking on dx10 compression), but other than that it was only like 11 minutes to generate all the png images for those mods, with maximum png compression or something close to it (there's different data preparation strategies for png image compression and I picked the strategy I thought would be best and did not try the others).

I have not tried creating new rar archives and uploading them anywhere (I do not even know if I should try to do so, and I have not installed a program to generate rar archives), and the png files are bigger than the .dds files, sometimes by a lot.

But I did create .7z archives from them, to check the sizes (settlement expansion is almost the same size, the other two are almost 3x the size of your rar archives).

I guess I could try uploading them here (I do not know if I would run into file size limitations), if you thought that that would be worthwhile.

And/or, I could do a post somewhere on how to do this kind of conversion (it involves installing imagemagick and using its convert command - on windows this also means installing cygwin for the command I used to find the file names to work). Probably most mod users would not want to mess with scripted image conversion - installing new code for scripting often involves small bits of knowledge which frustrate most people (for example: cygwin does not like carriage return characters in shell scripts and windows notepad and other easy to use text editors automatically add invisible carriage returns in front of each line end character).

Anyways... I was trying to figure out what ai configuration you were feeding your prompts to, and stumbled over this post, and thought I should speak up.

Okay, a lot to unpack here. So, I created Sickotik Mods images the year Fallout 4 came out. It was my first mod. So there's probably quite a few problems with it. That's why I started creating this new one. I wouldn't waste time trying to convert everything to PNG from Sickotik because I'm about to do that myself sometime next week. I'm going to fix all the files and reupload them on this account. It'll still be called Sickotik's Ultra Epic... But I'll be uploading the PNG files with them. I mean you can do it if you want, I'm just saying it'll be done soon anyway.

Second thing, PNG files are big. Especially how I export them. When I'm FULLY finished with the Fallout 4 mod, I'm going to take them all out, put them in a SEPARATE RAR file with the same folder structure. That way you can download it if you want, and not if you don't.

As far as my AI work... It's not an easy process. I open 6-8 different AI Text to Image generators, and write a VERY detailed prompt for what I want in all of them. Same line of text. Then I see which one gives me the best results. If it's for a magazine, I use the SAME Text to Image generator for all that magazine type. I like to keep it visually consistent.
After I get a good base image, and sometimes that is actually TWO images, like the female model, and a car, or a model and a different background... Just depends. AI isn't great at doing what you want, yet. So I take whatever AI images I've got and bring them into photoshop. Then I hand paint things like the hands and hand paint the eyes, because those are usually fucked up when they come from AI. I cut out the model and fix anything else in the background I think is important. Then I color correct so all the images look decent placed on top of each other. Sometimes I get real images from Google, Cartoonize those, then bring them into photoshop and blend them onto the AI models. This is usually boobs or faces. Hands and Eyes and legs are easy enough to just paint myself with a mouse. It'll be even easier when I can afford a drawing tablet.

Oh I also use Neural Filters in Photoshop to clean up artifacts and such.
And I use Chat GPT 4.5 to help me think of slogans and text for the images. That's always hit or miss though because it doesn't do anything adult.

There's a lot more to it than that, but that's ABOUT the process for how I do these images.

I actually had made a video showing the whole process and blurred the boobs but, forgot to blur some at the end of the video and Youtube took it down. I'll probably make another one soon enough.

Yes... I have noticed that AI tends to ... have side effects where asking for one thing brings in other things also (presumably because that matches the coincidental distribution of the original content it was learning from).

But I have not yet learned enough to train AIs to deal with such things in a way that I would like.

That's exactly what it is. And the more you use AI the more you'll start to notice the pattern of images it was trained on. Sure their may be millions of original images, but how it blends them starts to become noticeable. That's why I have to use 6-8 different ones each time. One may not have ever trained on a "Nurses Hat" or something. So I'll get some weird object on their head. And then sometimes I just have to draw it myself or use Generative Fill in Photoshop. Which is Adobes new AI system. A VERY amazing system just super limited right now and the moment it detects "too much" skin, it throws errors and doesn't let you use it. I have work arounds for that though. Most of the time anyway.
I'd say get Photoshop BETA and Midjourney and ChatGPT4, but all of those cost about on average, $20 a month so if you're not planning on making a ton of content, I wouldn't recommend it. Midjourney and ChatGPT have free versions. They're just super limited and you only get so many "uses".

For me, it's paint.net (and a few other programs) instead of photoshop (so no ai there, sadly), and stable diffusion instead of midjourney. I haven't found a use for chatgpt yet (but maybe a future version of it could build meshes and rig them - though that's tricky because choosing between various approximations of cloth physics (skintight, loose hanging, etc.) seems difficult to describe simply)

got the paintings pack. really do like it.

definitely going to have to get the magazine pack when it comes out.  i will have to compare it to what i have in game now.

of the 3 previews i looked at so far the count is 1 old (total hack), 1 yours (La Coiffe) and 1 i have to compare in game (Grognak).

please keep up the excellent work.

and THANK YOU for what you do.

One of my new favorite things with ChatGPT is it's ability to look at images now. So if I see, let's say, a certain type of hat, in an old 1950's picture, and I want AI to make that hat in MY image, I put the old image in GPT, ask it what kind of hat that is, then I can use that for my text generation.
Not a huge deal but definitely has been useful.

Nuverotic, thank you for such wonderful things!

Could you please put the .png files in a separate folder? After all, they are not actually used by the game and are only needed for preview purposes.

Secondly, in the last update you added replacement paintings, but it would be much better if these textures were in a square format (512 x 512). The same applies to Pickman's paintings. I'm not talking about cropping files to square, but about compressing existing textures. This action will in no way worsen their display in the game, and will even improve it somewhat, making it easier for the game engine to process them.

1. I am planning on pulling all the PNG's and putting them in a separate RAR file once I've completed this mod. A couple weeks tops.

2. I'm not exactly sure what you mean about making the images square, other than cropping. I know I could make them 512x512 but that would lower resolution significantly and make the images look blurry.

3. Thanks for the kind words.

Okay, so I'm ALMOST done with the magazines. I think I have three more packs to do. Unstoppables, US Covert Ops, and I think one other. Here's a sample of some of the ones I've done this week.

I'll try to explain it a little differently. What format are the painting used in the game?! Most often they are square in size. This means that the game has to adjust your textures, which naturally degrades the display quality. If you were only thinking about resolution based on the numbers I mentioned, I gave the minimum size as an example. You can also use 1024 x 1024 or 2048 x 2048, the point is not in the numbers, but in the form. Although, size certainly matters on quality, I'm talking about textures.

For an example:

screenshot74.jpgscreenshot75.jpg

screenshot76.jpgscreenshot77.jpg

Do you see how the quality of the canvas itself lags behind the frame?! This happens precisely when the texture is adjusted and trimmed by the game itself. If you use square textures, the painting will be displayed much better.

Very interesting. I had no idea. I'd have to go back through all my images and crop them to square. But I might because that looks terrible. I'll have to do some testing. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Only problem is some images were very specifically made to be landscape or portrait in length rather than square. But I'll look into it for sure.

The odd part is, I use Bethesda's pre existing dimensions. If it's a long painting, I just overwrite theirs. The only size adjustments were on paintings, and that was just doubling the size and shape already set by Bethesda. So I'm not sure why it works like that in game but that's interesting to say the least.

Nuverotic, Bethesda wouldn't be Bethesda if it didn't make mistakes in this game. I completely agree with you about testing. Don't forget Pickman's paintings.

so whats the difference between the 2 files ? can you use them both or just one or what sorry for asking

Are you asking about the plugin files itself? If yes, then, in principle, the file names indicate what their difference is. You can install both of them or choose what you need.

"Miscellaneous" is the main file that covers a lot of things. Textures of household items, food packaging, posters and much more. The "Paintings" file contains only replacement paintings.

This is gonna be an out of the blue kind of question, but are you familiar with "Ketaro's Treasures"? Because I think it would be fun to have lewd cards of your pics to collect in game.

Posted (edited)

Nuveroticregarding the square paintings. I had some free time and decided to spend it testing my proposal. After wandering a little around various locations of the game, I still came across some variants of the rectangular format. So my previous proposal may not be entirely correct. Because after all, not all paintings have a square shape. Before changing the shape of textures, you still need a full analysis of their use in the game, and this is not a very simple process.

The only thing that I still consider necessary to pay attention to first of all is increasing the size of the textures. So that the minimum texture size is not less than 1024. Even though this increase will slightly affect performance, the paintings will be displayed better. "Art requires sacrifice".

======================

TheHenshinGamer, It seems to me that I have already seen retextures of Ketoro's cards. Even on this one site, I think there are at least three similar works. Although, again, your request implies some difficulties. After all, the Ketaros Treasures plugin itself has been completely redesigned since its initial release. Some cards have become unavailable, new ones have appeared and now they are presented as separate addons. Plus, not all addons now have free access and they are not easy to find. Personally, I didn't really like the reborn of this plugin, because it went from being easy to use to something more complex that involved a separate mechanism, and I still prefer the first version.

I am familiar with that and I too think that would be a fun thing to add. I’ll look into it when I’m done with this mod.

What I would likely do, to be quite honest, is dive into HOW he made his mod, then reverse engineer that to make my own version and call it something else. Like “Nuverotic’s Lost Deck” or something. But I really think it would be fun. I just wish I had saved all my photoshop projects so I could remove text and just have the images.
