Nuascura Posted July 14, 2025 Author Posted July 14, 2025 @ChandraArgentis @DonQuiWho @XDbored I have a backlog of features to implement, including the following, but I will not give any promises on the order of implementation or a timeline, or whether they will be completed: Per-hold licenses Additional punishments and enforcer event resolutions Additional License Book Item loss conditions Price-scaling per player level On 7/11/2025 at 6:13 PM, XDbored said: i think the POP integration triggers too much, is there a way to disable it? Licenses's focus is also Vanilla-centric for maximum compatibility with common denominator setups, so just keep that in mind. As a non-developer, I used to be unintentionally modding for short romps, but now my personal focus is on mods that more likely than not stay until the end of a playthrough. I won't name any authors or mod names, but I'll say I've always aimed to avoid the tendency to delay fixes and increase scope. I'm very aware that I may exit the modding scene at any time, step away for a hiatus, or delay a fix to prioritize something else. I find my ideology more productive toward an evergreen product, which is coincidentally what I most want from the mods I use. So that's a long way to justify a contributing reason on why things may look a little boring and development may look a little slow right now, considering I was updating Licenses weekly or biweekly for over a year. 2

Thanks for replying and letting us know all that. Some of us have been around since forever and appreciate it when ppl explain not only what they're doing now, but set out to leave something that works should they for any reason have to move on, rather than leave half baked, uncompleted, mods that don't really work too well! Best wishes, in whatever progress you manage to make DQW
DS6677 Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 I'm a little late with the reply, but I think the issue was caused by an OSL keyword distributor adding keywords that I couldn't see in SSEedit. One of the downsides to having 1000+ mods lol 1
Ursur1major Posted July 23, 2025 Posted July 23, 2025 Is there a way to add a grace period before you're reported as missing? I feel it's a bit silly that I get reported the moment I step out of the arbitrary box for the settlement, even if I can still clearly see the buildings and everyone walking around on the streets only about 10 meters away.

Lore reason is cuz the rules are strict. IRL, prison guards would scream if you set a single foot outside the yard, right? No grace period, I think. LOS might delay the check for a bit - I'm unsure about how effective this is against what you're actually looking for.

Yeah, but you know, guards are also human, they aren't keeping you under supervision 100% of the time, and they probably still need time to do a check that none of the guards have any visibility on you. Although one feature that could circumvent this issue somewhat that I'd like to wish for, is the ability to ask (or beg) a guard or someone to escort you to the next town over, that's kind of the purpose of a follower I know, but there are instances such as certain quests or the lack of followers in a town that prevents such an action. And it would also strengthen the immersion I think. In such an event they'd only take you to the next town over, getting too far away from them would lead to being reported as missing, and if they somehow died on the way, you would be assumed to be at fault.

Are you referring to hosting it on 9dmsgame for mainland China users? I've seen the pages. NexusMods isn't blocked inside China and you can download the mod from my page there. The additional patches I've made (Ambience, Dialogue Patch) can be translated and uploaded by you on 9dms "for the people who can not access the global internet". You can also make a separate plugin patch to translate the main plugin. But I'm sure people will do what they want regardless. I'm just saying. There are ways to localize the mod for other languages without replacing the plugin. This means you don't have to do anything else in most cases whenever I update the mod. I intentionally made this process easier for translator. But this is up to you; I'm not sure why no one wants to make their life easier.
Blunt_Smoker_420 Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 Not sure if this has been ever addressed, but I seem to be constantly running into an issue regarding the insurance license for this mod. No matter whether or not I have it purchased/disabled, the game always acts like I don't own it, and the guards demand that I pay a fine, for which the only prompts available are: "But I don't have the gold!", or "I won't pay the fine". Lowering the fine amount in the MCM doesn't help either (even when the "Violation Fine Percentage" is set to 0%). If it helps, I own the majority of licenses, except for the "Collar Exemption" (Bikini, Clothing, and Travel licenses were disabled). Game version is SSE 1.5.97; mod version is 1.25.0.1 Let me know if there's anything else you need me to provide.
Nuascura Posted August 3, 2025 Author Posted August 3, 2025 @Blunt_Smoker_420 Please find your settings.json and attach it to your reply. Please also provide me a step-by-step for me to replicate your issue from a fresh new game/character. As you know, the Insurance feature intertwines with Armor, Bikini, and Clothing features, so a step-by-step will help me better understand how your issue is created. When you've completed replicating your issue according to your own steps, please then attach your papyrus log to this reply as well. So, three items: Settings.json Papyrus log Step-by-step process from new game

Or do you intend to add them like Acheron or Prison Alternative addons? It shouldn't be too much bloat. For example, it could be a configurable chance to show strictly one additional option to the pay fine dialogue step: Persuade Intimidate Bribe (with Gold) Bribe (with Sex) Show Nothing So only one MCM option (percentage slider) for this feature category so that we can enforce progression variation and simplify configurability. All the calculations are native since it's dialogue-based, and it's only one more option in the menu so it'll be more vanilla-esque and won't be intrusive. I was thinking of a chance of sex punishment if and only after paying your fine, but maybe it's better to omit further punishments and just focus on the above.
Blunt_Smoker_420 Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 @Nuascura Now I'm really stumped. Spent the past two hours trying to replicate this bug, but nothing came of it. If anything, everything was working properly now. When the insurance expired, I was able to pay my fine normally, and when I was testing it with the insurance disabled, the guards weren't bugging me at all, while all my other licenses were active. Gonna attach the settings.json of what I was using during the new game, just in case you'll find something of note. As for the logs, I couldn't find them anywhere, even though I did enable logging (unless I'm an idiot and don't know where to look lol) My only conclusion is that my save must be glitched and that I should try restarting the mod. Ah, if you can't replicate the issue, then the json and log will be useless since they're like contextual clues for me to replicate your issue on my end. No worries. Just leave it be. I've taken a look and nothing stands out immediately from my limited perspective. FYI Logs are under Documents/My Games/Skyrim Special Edition/Logs. Latest log is always Papyrus.0.log, with the number incremented until auto-deletion at its set limit. Something devs do know but is rarer said: Logs may not generate during your first game session after activating logs, but will generate for subsequent sessions. The reason is unclear to me, though keeping an MO2 profile with logging enabled via local ini, and switching between profiles with that setting on and off, doesn't produce this issue. 1
42ndDivision Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Quick question @Nuascura - a different mod (believe Pama's Ork Bounty Hunters) confiscated my character's inventory, including all the licenses I'd bought - this includes a travel permit. I managed to escape and retrieved my licenses (they're stored in a chest in Pama's mod), but the guards still rush after me to charge me with not having a travel permit. Any idea what might be causing this/how to fix it? Thanks in advance - loving the mod otherwise, it's an effective and lightweight replacement for a lot of things SL Survival used to do!
DonQuiWho Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 Hi there 1.25.01 This has added a1st person comments.esl, but now does not include the ambience.esl But the mod page seems to imply that ambience.esl is stll meant to be in play Is that an intentional replacement or something else? TIA for Any help offered DQW

Thanks for your interest in Licenses. On Travel Violations - these violations are intended to be 'sticky', so they don't play well with scenarios that intentionally remove them from you. The original idea was to guard against scenarios where you have an existing Travel Violation but you then purchase a permit later - this purchase should not remove your existing violation. I'll have to tweak this logic or remove this stickiness altogether. 4 hours ago, DonQuiWho said: Hi there 1.25.01 This has added a1st person comments.esl, but now does not include the ambience.esl But the mod page seems to imply that ambience.esl is stll meant to be in play Is that an intentional replacement or something else? kamithemoon Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 Random feature request for maybe the far future. But would it be possible to have a scene where guards will occasionally accost female NPCs and accuse them of expired licenses then pubically stripping them? The Dragonborn can't be the only citizen that has to pay for a license, can she? =P. audio_0.mp3
osculim Posted August 9, 2025 Posted August 9, 2025 I have a weird issue with the latest version. I don't know what is going on. The game plays well for a bit then the stuttering starts it gets so bad that I cannot even open the mcm. Its like the papyrus engine overloads. I have the same mods installed that I usually do which worked fine with other versions of the mod. Any ideas why this would happen.

If Licenses even has a hand in cause stuttering, it's because there are cascading failures in the background since something interfered with Licenses's processes. Consider checking your papyrus log and checking which of either your CPU or GPU is being burdened. Barring that angle of investigation, brute-force by doing a process-of-elimination by thinning your mod setup to isolate your issue.

IBAGadget Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 Quick question regarding the Bikini License: I had a read through the manual, and if I am understanding it correctly: Bikini Restriction - I can only wear Bikini Items if I don't have Armor/Clothing licenses Bikini Exemption - Even if I have Armor/Clothing licenses, I can only wear Bikini items *unless* I also have the Bikini Exemption. I usually run with both Armor and Clothing licenses disabled, reason being: There's a war going on - armor is not a bad thing to have on just in case Modesty rules, and weather is a thing - wearing clothing keeps you warm(er) and doesn't offend Karen's sensibility If I want to parade around in skimpy clothing, that's a privilege that I have to pay for. What is going to be my best license selection option for this? For reference, I had some other modlist changes to make, so only just upgraded from 1.23 to 1.25 today.
Nuascura Posted August 10, 2025 Author Posted August 10, 2025 8 minutes ago, IBAGadget said: What is going to be my best license selection option for this? I did receive some feedback before on ambiguity in the naming scheme, but correcting it is a chore and a half. The naming schemes also at least do make sense if you can manage to consider them within the Licenses feature-set's totality. The "Curfew Exemption" exempts you from needing to abide by Curfew rules. Likewise, the "Bikini Exemption" exempts you from needing to abide by Bikini rules. If put in your words, it could look like this: Quote Bikini Restriction - I can only wear Bikini Items if I have a Bikini License but I don't have Armor/Clothing licenses Bikini Exemption - I can only wear Bikini Items if I have Armor/Clothing licenses, but I can get past this restriction by getting a Bikini Exemption So on to the main thing: I don't think you'll be able to get the outcome you desire with how Licenses works at the moment. To get somewhat close to your desired scenario, you'll want to keep Armor and Clothing license features disabled but keep Bikini License enabled in its Restriction mode. Then, keep the latter's checks for armor and clothing items disabled. This effectively makes your in-game context as you want, but Licenses has no active regulation over equipped items as you can guess. Alternatively, you can follow those steps above but allow Bikini License to check for violating armor and clothing items. Then, the important next step is to only enable Armor Slots for those slots commonly occupied by Bikini Items. This option is feasible because armor mods typically occupy slots outside vanilla slot standards. However, you'll need to make sure that your skimpy clothing items have the proper VendorItem or BM_Licenses armor/clothing keywords. Hope that helps.
IBAGadget Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 That does help, thank you. Keywords are not an issue, as I also use Advanced Nudity Detection, and I use the same KID files to distribute the BM_LicensesBikiniItem keyword to those outfit/armor pieces that need it, regardless of armor slot used.
