Yes. “VendorItemArmor” is not supposed to be attached to an item with Armor Type “Clothing”. It should be VendorItemClothing instead. You can change it yourself or ask the mod author to fix this inconsistency.

well  that's a great work :(

since it's from ninirim collection, containing hundreds of equipment

I can just change what i equip exactly for now

Buying spelltomes from Tolfdir.

The notification when Toldfir bails on me is "Tolfdir: I won't sell this to you if you can't use it." Not dialog in the center, but a notification in the top left. The vendor window exits to the dialog, with "What have you got for sale?" highlighted, and I can go right back to the vending window. When I look in inventory, no items added to it, but the coin has been removed from the character.

I'm not seeing that in bm_licenses.esp (I don't see it in _any_ esm, esl, or esp in my load order). I'll keep looking

The dialog isn’t in the esp because it’s provided from a script.

That notification isn’t due to lack of Travel Permit but rather from lack of corresponding equipment license. Do you have Magic License feature enabled but don’t have a valid Magic License? If so, you aren’t allowed to buy spell times while unlicensed.

BMLE has no feature to remove Devious Devices from Blacksmiths, if that’s what you’re asking. You need a separate mod like Devious Interests for that feature.

You can use xEdit to batch edit. Highlight all armor records, right click and select for compare, and delete the VendorItemArmor keyword from one record. This will erase the keyword from all other highlighted records as noted in the right-side panel. Then, use a script to batch add VendorItemClothing as one might’ve done for the SLS bikini armor keyword.

I’m no whizz with xEdit, so my terminology or steps may be incorrect, but that’s the gist of what I’d do. I can assure you it doesn’t take too long.

The magic license was enabled, with the collar option, then disabled when I realized how debilitating it would be to a mage playthrough, The game was saved, exited to desktop, and reloaded before attempting to buy spell tomes.

. . .  Aannd reloading the game, the main magicka license is checked with all sub-options un-checked.  Unchecked the main license in the MCM and suddenly could buy spells. Sounds like it's working as intended.

Thanks for your time.

maybe a bug then? Because other blacksmiths in other towns and cities will take them off, but in whiterun they say i dont have a license and tell me to F off. Maybe I will wait in the other town for a day or two and then go back and see if the NPCs reset?

Uh, maybe we have a misunderstanding here?

BMLE does not affect dialogue that at all pertains to removing “devices”. In fact, if you’re asking blacksmiths to remove your devices, no BMLE dialogue and notifications should be able to appear because the relevant functions are linked to the Barter Menu.

But, I’ll throw a bone and also mention that, if you have a mod that allows selling Devious Devices restraints to blacksmiths, THEN you’ll also need a Trading License to do business with blacksmiths. In this event, since you claim to have a Trading License, only then may there be bug.

Best you take a video and show me what you’re doing in-game.

Approach guard to buy life insurances cause I don't have one, guard proceed to toss me into prison because I don't have one.

Would you fix it by making the guard to tell you to buy a license when you first met them instead of tossing you to prison right away?

Possible. For now, just be sure you have everything unequipped. It’s really easy to avoid a violation for the first time, unless you have Cursed Collar feature enabled.

I finally got my load order all set and things are functioning well (I had a few things with Sexlab that has nothing to do with BML), so BML is now after Devious Interests. My problem is that the guard dialogue when being arrested doesn't have any of the options that it seems should be there from DI, like the chance to be put in restraints to forgive the bounty. I haven't seen anything like that yet. I also, never get any of the DCL optional punishments like "Walk of Shame," which I had been getting before. It might be DI blocking DCL, I'm not sure, but since BML is last in load order I wonder if there is something that might be overwriting or blocking the dialogue from DI to wear restraints or have sex to forgive bounty. I'm not sure about all this stuff, so just trying to figure out what might be keeping that from happening.

@cerebus300 BMLE hasn't altered any vanilla-based dialogue branches since the Trading License mechanic switch. And even before then, BMLE has never altered any vanilla-based guard dialogue branches. Maybe share your issue on @Taki17's Devious Interests forum, or load all of your plugins with xEdit and see what dialogue records are overwriting DIN's records.

Okay, thanks. I'll check over there.

The only gear I equipped was unenchanted earring from some 3ba mod, maybe it was mistakenly recognize as some form of outfit.

But yeah, I am looking for the fix in the near future. For first time meeting or renewing license, it doesn't make sense for the guard to toss you into prison right away. XD

There won’t ever be a fix for your case of “renewal.”

First time meets may be adjusted so to smooth over new game experiences. However, any guard interactions afterward function as intended. It’s your responsibility to make sure your license is valid and that you have the right to wear what you’re wearing. You are required to strip before renewing your equipment licenses. It doesn’t make sense to provide too much leeway for the player. Otherwise, this mod’s experience-able impact on the player will be too minimal and we might as well make a dedicated/pure taxation mod.

Can I recommend adding a option whereby upon expiry, there is 24-48 hours of brief period whereby you could renew the license without the need to strip. At least if one was playing at survival mode and was in the middle of nowhere, They do not need to worry about expiring license.

And would be awesome if the license include the issues date and expiry date.

Instead of the license just mention "This license allowed holder to xxx", it can add something along the lines like..

This license was issues on Sundas, the 19th of Morning Star, 4E201.

This license would expired on Turdas, the 23th of Morning Star, 4E201.

Is more fun than going to menu occasionally to check for expiry date.

If there are no guards around there is no need to strip even if your license expires.

Unless the last few versions added NPCs ratting you out to guards... Have been on the road the past few weeks and have not tested the new versions...

Also, the mod is meant to be inconvenient.

a few odd little issues i keep running into.

The trading license seems incredibly inconsistent and i cant tell how its supposed to work.

I have a trading licence, but no magic license, lucan valaros wont buy staffs and such.
I turn off trading licence, still have no magic licence, lucan still wont buy them. I figure its a magic linked thing
but then i talk to belathor and he will buy them with the same rules. but then later he wont buy them again.

Travel licence is also buggy.

I buy one from a whiterun guard, then i get like 10 feet away and he sprints at me like a madman saying i need a travel licence and he throws me in jail. Meanwhile i have both a whiterun home and i have universal immunity for thanes toggled and im a thane.

Primary licences in general tho seem to work well, cerfew licence works well (though i would like it if like sexlab survival they took you somewhere if you broke curfew - home/inn/(kennel/prison) depending on factors.

overall liking the mod and am looking forward to more updates

No, sorry. Like @Someone92 said, this mod is meant to make your playthrough inconvenient. The less you wish to interact with or be impacted by this mod's events, the less reason you have to install this mod.

Trades required both an equipment license, a Life Insurance, and a trading license where applicable. To better understand what is and isn't a bug, I've included additional notification feedbacks of "item selling" that should've been included in earlier versions. Be sure to note what notification you see in the top-left corner of your screen.

What also perhaps happened is that you had Insurance enabled but did not have a valid insurance on-hand when selling your staff. I've removed this insurance requirement for trades. Please help me test your issue with 1.8.2.

When selling a staff, ensure you have:

- a valid magic license or disabled magic license feature

- a valid trading license or disabled trading license feature

I am unable to reproduce this bug. Do note that thane status refreshes with location + cell changes while immunities specifically refresh per violation check. It may be that you had an existing travel violation prior to purchasing a travel permit. Purchasing a permit does not wipe your travel violation. With this context in mind, see if you can replicate your issue on succeeding saves. Reference the License Statuses MCM window to verify that your immunities are active.

That is likely it, I was out and about missing one and i bought one from the whiterun guard by the burnt up tower. I woulda thought he would have brought it up in that conversation if it was an issue

Bounty dialogues are linked to a quest that BMLE starts and stops whenever necessary. That means the dialogue doesn't exist when the quest is inactive, even if you have a current violation. I'll see if we can work around this issue in the future.

Forgot to mention: yes! I have this on the docket. Will work on beautifying the license documents in the future.

Hello, I am really enjoying the mod and have a request, but only if its not difficult and does not break the mod.
Is it possible much as slaverun and enforcer do to make the licenses apply to other women in the city?

I understand it is player centred, but its mildly immersion breaking.

So if for example the city enforces wearing collars- all females should be wearing collars.

Thanks for your time.

I am unsure of the performance overhead. For now, it’s best to use Slaverun Enforcer Standalone to strip NPCs. Or, you could instead use Corsec’s SPID file to distribute collars to NPCs. This latter option is my current setup, which is quicker than any script-based solution.
