Also, the bookshelf itself has no theft status (I don't know how to say otherwise), and when selecting the key and opening the cabinet, nothing happens, you can safely pick up the contents and read all the books. What is the problem? Skyrim version 1.5.97 costs DD 5.2, DDCL is the LATEST, DDNG, and if you remove the "The Forbidden Tome" mod or perform a clean install of DD 5.2, the note, key, and forbidden bookcase will still exist. I'm sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

For me it sounds like you have installed Devious Deviants as well. Both mods, mine and Devious Deviants provide a very similar quest, as both are based on Min's og creation.

Those assets I assume to belong to Devious Deviants instead of my mod.

Yeah, this mod was my first experiment of doing other stuff with the CK instead of just glueing scripts into the game, so there may be multiple bugs. That's why it's still Beta.

On the other hand, you are the first to report those bugs specifically, and I don't know what else you did. For everybody else so far the dialogue seemed to work flawlessly once they got to Zenidius with the requested item.

For the blocked workbenches, I don't know what's causing this. Probably, as you mentioned, the contraption, but I don't do much with that except calling the DDc API script.

I can look into it, but maybe some script didn't advance properly on your end. Do you have a script log or something?

I ran into it as well.

I am using Unforgiving Devices and some of the Zenidius devices were removed so if there's a condition for the dialogue to show that all the devices equipped you may want to remove it, or force greet and reequip the devices.

Any way to advance the quest through console?

so,  I replayed this mod with my new PC and it ran well!  quite fun, actually, and it left me wanting more.  I'm really happy you retooled the original quest from early DD.

Note: I started a new playthrough with a stripped down load order because of the tendency of DD to slow things down.  That really helped.  I played through being polite, and then tried it using the nasty responses. Really spiced things up.

Only issue,  I couldn't find Urag's key in the student dormitory.   I saw a post that it was found in a barrel, and I rechecked all barrels, no luck, so I consoled it in. Once I did the journal entry moved down to the completed quest section without marking the last bit completed.

But I was disappointed that there wasn't any further dialogue with Zen or Urag.  Zen said something about wanting further interaction, but after I talked to Urag, he stopped having anything but generic dialogue.  And Urag only talked about his usual stuff.

Now I played this with DD Enchanted Chests installed.  That meant that I would get locked in stuff when I opened a chest from time to time, similary to Deviously Cursed Loot. The difference is the MCM menu with so many choices to customize those DD drops. So I had already collected a bunch of DD stuff before starting your quest. And I had keys stashed away, which made things much easier in the ruins.

I really liked the interactions with Urag and Zen, and that one book suggests the prior student continued going to Urag for sex after her successful return to the college.

So why not an epilogue or continuation?  Zen is there in the college, he needs to do research, Urag might enjoy some sex play, there's a whole Midden that's pretty empty in the basement, other masters that might enjoy participating, and maybe the college needs some incentive to try some new experiments??

I would like to give it a go for nostalgia sake, but I have Ultimate college of winterhold and that mod changes the Arcaneum (and all the college) completly, if you make a patch for it or a work around dm pls, I kinda want to relive this quest, its really a shame that DD takes this quest out

for the devices? when he sends you to the hall of attainment where hes hidden the key to your collar and belt

I would very much love a hint at were the key at the end is. I keep going to the spot where the arrow is pointing at the entrance way above the carpet but nothing is there.

I have no idea where the key is, it gets placed randomly. The marker you mentioned points you only to the general area where the key should be hidden. You have two options though:
First, you can try set tftEasyObjects to 1 in the console and see if a new marker appears, it should point you directly to the key

or you do these steps:

1) sqv tftHideKeyQuest will show all values of the key hide quest

2) look for an alias "Key" and its RefID (the alphanumeric value besides it)

3) player.moveto [Key RefID] in the console will port your player directly to the key hideout.

If the key is in some unreachable place, let me know
