FROM THE DEEPS (new version) : A Lovecraftian adventure for Skyrim.

The first point

  • A lovecraft like story, with a large Inquiry part, and two way to finish it : joining the cult, or destroying it.
  • An ambition to make a thief like mod, centered about his story. Very few but harsh fights. It's a massive rewrite of the actual From The Deeps mod, and it will replace it in time.
  • Most player choices will lead to consequences (include the sex scenes, almost all avoidable, but with consequences)
  • Female players designed mod

 

TOTALLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH FROM THE DEEPS redone ! (that version will be deleted soon as FTD new version will advance !)

  • ZAZ 8.0 or +

Soft requirement :

  • XPMS skeleton.
  • More Nasty critters (sex scene with Lurkers, seekers, and rieklings)
  • Billy's anim pack (contain everything you need !)

Guide :

  • How to start ? Talk to an Innkeeper.
  • Chapter 1 : Talk to Kjegrim. You'll need to complete four cases :
    • Sesia Aurina, at Solitude. You'll met Fulvius Cato.
    • Frelys, at Dawnstar.
    • Direala Shali, at Windhelm.
    • Rosalie Devir, at Winterhold mage academy. I recommand you to complete Diraela quest before Rosalie's. You'll met Nuai.
    • You'll conclude during a meeting between Kjegrim, Fulivus Cato, and Nuai.
    •  
    • The sexual acts and choices you'll choose to make will be registered in the int perversion and corruption.

 

  • Chapter 2 ; investigation in Insmouth.
    • Before, Fulvius will ask you the role you can perform. You can be a "merchant" (aka smuggler) or prostitute.
    • In insmouth, after the office event, you'll need to get a job and a home. You'll live with Susana.
    • Each day, you'll need to choose one quest, and perform your job.
    •  
    • Inquiry : Arthrarak : investigate the warehouse, try to find the slaver's ship.
    • Inquiry : Zadok Arrenith : meet the old fisherman.
    • Inquiry : the virgin head inn. Investigate that strange inn.
    • Inquiry : temple : find what is lurking below the surface of Insmouth island.
    • the end quest : find a way to acces to the ruins below the village, and find the temple.
    • You'll conclude during a meeting between Kjegrim, Fulivus Cato, and Nuai.
    •  
    • Again, the choices you'll make will have consequences. Some choices need you to have a certain amount of perversion or corruption. The variable Trust is important.
    • You can met the Bad End : Madness.

 

  • Chapter 3 ; uncover the truth.
    • First, help Nuai to investigate the Hallucinated mountain. You'll need to make a choice to side with the rieklings or abandon them.
    • During the big fight and at end end of the hallucinated mountain arc, you'll need to choose between sacrifice Nuai or save her.
    •  
    • After, infiltrate the cult of dawnstar for Kjegrim. You'll met again Norren, and you'll met Mirae Coree.
    • At the end of the second quest of dawnstart (aftd3_dawnstar2), you'll needd to make a choice :
      • Burglar Kamara Camoran's Manor
      • Join a party as prostitute (in project)
      • Infiltrate a party (in project, maybe I'll not make it and stay with the burglar)
    • In the last dawnstar quest, you'll be engaged in the cultist or investigator path.
    •  
    • Each choice you'll make will have consequences, like the interactions with Hak'kluru, will decide if you engage in the cultist or the investigator path for chapter 4. It will also decide some ends.
    • The end of chapter 3 is path dependant : if you're a cultist, you'll perform the third and final oath. If you are on the investigator path, you'll debrief with Kjegrim, Fulvius, and Nuai if you didn't sacrificed her.

 

  • Chapter 4 : walking the path.
    • Chapter 4  is divided in two parts : cultist, and investigator.
    •  
    • Cultist path :
    • Back to Insmouth, Mankara will give a set of quests. You'll need also to get a job
    • Chaur Tegoth cult : you'll need to destroy a cult of Chaur Tegoth, another great ancient rival to Dagon.
    • Sacrifices : you'll need to sacrifice two of you followers at Windhelm and Solitude (quest will maybe be extended to Markarth).
    • Capture Nuai : if Nuai was not sacrificed in chapter 3, you'll need to capture her.
    • Get your job back : Ureamu Sarendes, the brothel owner, have a task for you.
    • Jobs : only the prostitute is available for now.
      • work in the brothel.
      • Visit clients (the lurkers hybrids)
      • maybe one more will be done (project)
    •  
    • Hidden : acscending. You'll become a priestress, with huge powers.
    •  
    • Your progression will be registered. You'll receive some spells and powers as reward.
    • After completing these tasks, you'll receive a message from Maive. She'll lead you to a cave. You'll met the ghosts of the consequences of your choices.
    • (in project) there are two ends of the cultist path : invoke Dagon as a priestess, or being sacrificed.

    • Investigator path (totally in project !) :
    • Direala Shai dream : Fulvius found Diraela, but she's mad. You'll need to explore her dreams to find some elements, and maybe improve her status.
    • Strike the cult : strike the cultists in Windhelm and Solitude.
    • Mirae Corree fate : decide Mirae Fate.

it's a pain because as of now there is two major Ver. 1.5.97 (in my opinion the best for adult modding and the best SE version for all mods) 1.6.640 (current version but will get updated in the near future) seems like a lot of trouble but considering the vast majority of the playerbase is playing on SE it might be worth it since you would get a lot more feedback.

 

I'm personally happy to see this project being worked on and I'll keep my eyes peeled.

For SE version, I use 1.5.97.

Most of mods works on that version... the most popular mod is the version decreaser.

I tried this mod a long time ago, it would be interesting to see how far it's come now, I tend to have a lot of unfortunate runtime errors whenever I try sexlab based quest mods tho, hopefully my rig will behave if I try this.

 

Kudos to you for keeping mods like this alive, much appreciated. ;)

Hi, i got into problem with some of the quest, it maybe because i doesn't know where to go. the first one is at solitude inquiries i cant find the dockmaster or his office, and when in solitude castle dour when the guard told me to sit on the chair no dialogue happen, and after completing the investigator quest the stendarr vigilant never call me again.

@Delzaron Question for you.  Do you have any intention to include hypnosis/mind control content in this mod?  I remember in the previous version of this mod there was some hints that the cult could hypnotize reluctant women into joining the cult and serving them.  Do you have any plans on expanding on that and making it an actual story point? 

Maybe have the player fall into a trance from time to time on the island after they fall asleep only to wake up somewhere else with no memory of what happened.  We the players would get to player through the sequence where our character is hypnotized, but the character doesn't remember.  The longer they take to investigate the rumors on the island, the easier it is for the cult to hypnotize them and force them to join the cult?

Maybe even have the cult go after our companions as well? If we bring them with us to investigate, the cult also slowly begins to corrupt and hypnotize them?

I don't if I'll expand it yet.

I plan a dream phase as part of a quest line.

 

For now, I don't plan to use companions...

I love your mods. If you ever still take wishes or such, I am always wishing for more damsels in distress around my skyrim to convey a darker or more cruel world. That's kinda why I love hydragorgon slave girls, so i'm always for more like that. If I ever learn to mod, that will definitely be my first project, but based on everything i've learned. It seems to take much longer to mod something than one expects. That's why i'm very grateful for those who are good at it. Thank you for all your mods ?

It would be better, if possible ,to fix crucial quest-mod breaking bugs in entire mod,making it playable,and then polishing it piece by piece,then this,it just takes to much time,it will take years to finish it.I dont want to sound ungrateful,just suggesting what we all probably need.Ty!

I can't test everything, and you know, testing is own product leads to confirmation biais.

Fair review by independant testers is important for me.

So please, list the bugs you met, with all the details you can (quest involved, stage, actors, description of the problem).

 

Yes, this project is huge, and will take time. I hope I'll finish it before next tesc will come out and be able to mod (i hope a non woke tesc).

For now, I'm stuggling on Insmouth village redone. I need to drasticly change the shape of the village to adapt to the new exigences of the mod.

This is getting me excited for the next version.   I really hope you lean into the eldritch mind control aspect.  Having the PC slowly be put further under the control of the cult depending on various factors would be great.  Just having the ability for the priest and priestess' being able to trance the PC and make them perform mission for the cult without them knowing (the player would know but not the PC) would be amazing.

For now, this are my plans for chapter 2 and 3.

Chapter 2 will be focused on Insmouth. Player will need to gather informations about several topics : Arthrarak the slaver, Zadok Allenith and the statuette, and Dagon. And of course not be suspected by the locals. Player will experiment his first dreams.

 

Chapter 3 : back to skyrim, player will need to inquiry about differents topics :

- the lodge of silver twilight in Solitude.

- the ruins with Nuai (it will lead to a mountain madness short scenario).

- the cult of Dawnstar.

- the dreams (with Hallkuru, that quest line is important for the cultist path).

 

Chapter 4 is the final : player returns to Insmouth (which will change according to players stats), and face the ending and the consequences of his choices.

 

In chapter 1, variables were only Perversion and Corruption.

In chapter 2, sanity will begin to matters.

 

what you describe is hard to make as quest... quests were the player knows what's going on, but not the PC...

I think it could be better, depend of corruption and sanity, to face the player will consequences of events he does'tn know (for example, player sleeps, and awakes with some humans remains, or player need to inquiry about a crime... and the proofs leads to player !). It can also help to push the player into the priestess arms.

What I meant with this is that the player plays out the sequence where they are under the cult's control, but the player character continues with their time in Insmouth not remembering anything.

Is this one going to have more filth and degeneracy in it? Repeatable/radiant filth and degeneracy? I hope. :joy:
