So, last week I bought a Razer Naga 2014.  My first "real" gaming mouse (previoiusly had an Abyssus).  I just had to make this thread to suggest this mouse to every Elder Scrolls, MMO or FPS player out there.

Im using this Naga right now with Skyrim and I tell ya.. access to hotkeys for pots and spells on the mouse is so much more convenient and faster than what you'd get with just the Keyboard.

If anyones been thinking of getting one of these mice then for what its worth I highly suggest the purchase.

I bought a Razer Black Widow mechanical keyboard some time back when the latest cheap Logitech keyboard couldn't take anymore of my handling, and it's been pretty awesome too. Have to keep that in mind when my current Logitech G300 stops working.

Is that a laser or LED mouse, BTW?

I had bought a Razer Krait before and it served me well for almost 2 years before it going kaput on me. Now I had this expensive-looking Logitech mouse that I taken from a friend for his failure to produce my J-Drama DVD when I asked him to return it to me. Nice trade-off if I might say.  :D But yeah, Razer gaming peripherals are quite expensive, at least in my country currency, and I thought to get one, someday, if I can pay a GTX Titan in one go with my wage without me scouring for a burger as a meal in a bin.  :sleepy:

I have a logitech trackball that has served me well for two years.  A lot of people go eww at trackballs, but I have a tendancy to run the mouse right off the pad in a heated game, AND I can use it without a surface when I wanna set my TV as my monitor and throw a movie up or play a game from the comfort of my bed.  Maybe when Razer makes a serious gaming trackball (they have one, but the layout is horrible), I'll consider getting one.

I am am using a 3 year old Razer DeathAdder and honestly the two thumb buttons that it has just tend to piss me off more than anything else.  My untrained fat thumb accidentally hits the damn things and it flips my browser back a page or forward a page.  Of course it always happens at the worst possible time (like just after finishing typing out a long post and before I can save or post it).

I do love the responsiveness of my DeathAdder, I'll say that much.  I also tried using a Razer Nostromo Gaming Keypad for my left hand, as a gaming alternative to the keyboard.  I never could get used to it and ended up selling the damn thing to a buddy of mine.  I guess I am just one of those old school keyboard and three button mouse guys that is just content to stay that way.   :P

The Naga IS damn cool looking however...... ;)

I've owned 2 razer naga's, they both eventually died or suffered from incredibly bad double click problems. After the second one broke I switched the Logitech G600 MMO mouse, which is same concept as the Naga with the side buttons. It's a much better mouse in my opinion. The side buttons were a bit easier to press on the naga than the side buttons on the G600, but it's superior comfort and build quality makes the G600 the better mouse by far in my book.

I was a hardcore raider farming hard modes in WoW, so I'd say I'm pretty particular about my mouse, and the side buttons of the Naga and G600 were practically essential to me. Having every single hotkey on my bars set to to the side buttons + shift/ctrl modifiers for expanded binds, and it 100% made a difference in my tanking ability; much faster than using keyboard hotkeys, could instantly respond to anything with one of my 36 hotkeys with barely a movement of the mouse thumb.

Whats with "gaming" mouses and keyboards anyway?
My keyboard is a simple office keyboard by logitech
But still considering a new mouse as this one eats batteries (i hate wired mouses)

Just bought a Steelseries Apex RAW gaming keyboard and its a freakin great keyboard.

@deathparade you say that because you never tried either.

At least you didn't buy a SteelSeries mouse, since they don't last long.

I got the Apex the raw didn't have enough features for me I wish Steelseries still carried their Merc Keyboards the one I had prior to getting the Apex was awesome.

Edit: yeah the SS mice don't last very long but their keyboards do.

Try this to keep your mouse in control (it worked for me like a charm, as I own a six-button Blade Runner from a brand called Elephant):

Your not getting it.  My right thumb is completely incapable of clicking anything except at the worst possible time.  I just haven't trained myself to ever use the mouse thumb buttons.  I finally got pissed off at it one day and turned them off via the software that came with it.

I only use the three buttons....I'm old school.   :P

True, I have a Microsoft SideWinder X4 gaming keyboard and I have no use for the macro button or the S1 - S6 buttons.

As for getting a new mouse, I'm planning on buying a Razer DeathAdder.

I still dont use half of the features that come with the keyboard to say there is not enough, what I can say it is very comfortable and looks robust, the backlight is definitly very well done also.

As for mouses I still did not found any brand that offer both functionality and life span to justify buying an expensive one, seems Logitech are the way to go nowadays.

It is not much about the extra keys but more about comfort and lasting, again try one before deciding wether its good or not, like all things in life you cant say you dont like before you tried them.

For Microsoft gaming products I would not personally buy them, but I am not a big fan of Microsoft products.

Heh, it's funny. I had the exact opposite opinion, moving up to my razer deathadder from a cheap 5 dollar ebay mouse I used for a few years and finally died. Now, it is so very hard for me to even comprehend the idea of using a mouse without the two thumb buttons. They are so damn useful. Mouse-4 for reload feels just... so... right. And honestly, having them for back and forward during regular browsing and things isn't that bad either. Different mindset for different people I suppose. :) I can understand the annoyance of course, hah. At first I was a bit worried about it too. But now it feels indispensable, hah.
