Once you stuff them in, you charge them with soul gems, via UD's dialog box "special" option and they do magic tricks to you.

What you mention is the normal soul gem plug.

I firgured out what those charable plug does. These plug can't be remove until you it fully charge (can check the number in basic UD info tab). Every time your arouser go up, it charge the plug. Successfully remove it after fully charge will give you 3 soul gem of the plug size.

 

I learned to craft those plug from Nobara's Diary. But I'm currently stuck at "Got to get my partner create more of these plug and wear them" But I craft 4 and wear them all already.

Found the solution. You have to wear and successfully remove all 4 of these plug when they are fully charged. Remove by other method will break the plug and return the 3 empty soul gem, and not counting toward the quest progess.
