Sexbound Reborn

Sexbound Reborn is a fork of the original Sexbound Mod created by Locuturus and Co. It takes off where the old mod was left over a year ago, fixing many flaws and adding many more features. The focus of Sexbound Reborn is set onto immersion and pseudo-realism, as well as pulling Sexbound out of it's indecisive part-API-part-mod state and making it a proper standalone mod to enjoy.

 

 

Installation & Usage

Sexbound Reborn comes in two versions - the pak-ed version and the source version. The pak-ed version is a compressed, minified version of the mod that sacrifices modability and readability in order to save space and make the mod load faster. This is the version suitable for most users. In order to retain configuration options even with the pak-ed version, the zip also includes a second "mod" which solely consists of the config files for easy access. The source version of the mod contains all the source files in raw state and is most suitable for modders trying to understand the inner workings of Sexbound Reborn, aswell as maybe write their own addons.

 

⁉️ Download and install only one file from the Downloads Archive: Paked or Source.

⁉️ Sexbound Reborn is basically a new Sexbound update. Do NOT try to use Original Sexbound and Sexbound Reborn at the same time!

 

In addition to the two versions of the main mod, the download section might also contain patches for other mods. These patches are installed like any other mod and might be necessary if you want to use the additional mods the patches are for with Sexbound Reborn. See the "Compatible Mods" section for up-to-date information.

 

⁉️ Only install the patch for a mod if you are using the mod the patch is for too, otherwise your game might crash.

Changelog & Roadmap

Sexbound Reborn changes many features compared to original Sexbound, and many more will come. The detailed changelog is very long, but major changes include a greatly revamped pregnancy system, proper actor and position management (i.e. working three+-actors), modular body traits (i.e. properly working sub-genders) and many changes that offer more possibilities to addon creators.

 

The current changes of any new version can be found at the bottom or in the GitHub Release notes. The full, detailed changelog is always included in the mod files for anyone interested.

Did you right click the ZIP file, and select "Extract to (File named folder)" and make a single folder inside your mods folder, or did you right click the ZIP and select "extract here", and just dumped a bunch of folders into the mods folder?

The latter is not proper and the mod will not work, likely causing crashes.

I think pregnancy might be bugged? I have no other mods than this one, and my server console is filled with this same error over and over again:

[Error] [string "/scripts/sexbound/plugins/pregnant/pregnant.l..."]:569: attempt to index a nil value (global 'BabyFactor')

The same thing happens in singleplayer too. Unfortunately I don't have a singleplayer log file with the error anymore

Between me and you, there are thousands of kilometers, i cannot possibly see what's on your screen without aid from superior beings, or your Starbound log.

To find the log file, it should be within your Starbound installation directory, then the storage folder. You should see a text file named starbound.log (Or simply starbound, a plain text file). But yeah, other than the lack of information, there is also a lack of... more detail. I don't know if you are using any old Sexbound mods with this, refused to get the patches for it, or what have you. Saying "something is bugged because i read it on my log" ain't gonna help either of us here, if you have the technical knowledge to read your logs properly, you should know this. So please, do give us a log!

Oh, and for the record, for people getting this mod, treat it as a new API and assume EVERYTHING ELSE IS INCOMPATIBLE until proven otherwise. Like really i'm being honest here folks, if i see a VenusBM or a SexboundFutanari_v2.8.3 i am going to strangle someone.

Also, a question; does this mean that it MIGHT be possible to have more animations as well? Especially if 3+ actors are going to be usable better. Or is there a hard limit, like I saw in a post a while ago (where trying to add more animations messed up the animation itself iirc)? Either way, very interested to see where this goes!!

I dont really understand how this mod works, I've only added mods that can work with this mod but whenever I enter a sex scene my character either stands there or is invisible. If I only have this mod installed I only have one animation available. Not sure if its me or the mod. I guess I'll try again when this mod receives more updates in the future.

Depends on what type of "more animations" you mean. Sexbound Reborn already added a transition animation between climaxing and returning to the main sex loop. Work on more sex positions is already ongoing, now that Sexbound Reborn fixed the UI (in original sexbound it crashes with more than 8 positions).

 

Generally the only limit with animations is that every single thing for every single scenario has to be hardcoded into a single file (the current animation file is 230KB without compression and has ~10k lines of data), so the upper limit would be how much you can strangle the game before it chokes and how much any person trying to edit this is willing to suffer xD

Your character just standing there when you freshly entered a sexnode is normal - you're idling until you choose a position you want to do it in. This is so that solo actor positions are generally possible, as they may come in the future. What positions are available to select changes based on the available actors - by default you can only choose positions that make sense. Since there are currently no solo actor positions, you will need a partner for anything to show up. And even if you have a partner but both are female, there should only be "facesitting" available as all the other positions require one of the actors to be able to penetrate the other. If you want to disable this logic and make everything available regardless of conditions (like in original sexbound) you can do so in the main config file.

 

However your character turning invisible sounds like an error. In which case we need your log file.

I posted in the PoV Redux thread about this issue as it seems to be the same issue I got except the latter part.
basically adding the new PoV Redux 4.2.0 along with this mod makes it so when you interact with a node the pose wheel doesn't show up.
but, if you attempt to rapidly interact with the same node it does show up eventually, but is transparent, with no options to pick any poses. it stays on the idling state.
I went through my mods that were compatible with SxB Reborn and eventually moved the new PoV Redux 4.2.0 out of the mods folder and the issue was solved, the log shows something about a TriggerUpdate error with "interface/sexbound/sexui.lua".
If it'll help troubleshoot it this is my log file.
but I'm not sure whether this error is a PoV Redux error, an SxB Reborn error, or some other weird circumstance that caused this.

If you have an error that you want help with, golden rule #1, step #1 - send the log file. Yes.

 

On a side node, if we are still talking about the UI breaking (staying invisible, not reacting to clicks) there should only be a handful of potential culprits so that would make it easier - any mod that interacts with the UI.

That log is only containing a single error message that could be related to SBR (or anything, in general, which is the problem) that doesn't tell us anything. You do have a lot of other mods, including Teratophilia Scenes (two times?) which hasn't yet been updated publicly to support SBR - but that would just break the UI, your issue is happening earlier. I can only say it's a mod incompatibility that I don't yet came across, so you have two options in pinpointing the issue:

 

Enable "Info" and "Debug" level logging in SBR's main config file, or disabling Sexbound related mods and re-enabling them one by one to check which one is the issue.

It tells me a lot is wrong. The most important part that crashes stuff currently: One of the new functions of SBR in the Utils functions is outright missing. Which leads to the biggest elephant in the room:

Not only are you trying to use TWO version of sexbound at the same time - old and long since outdated version 3.14.0 of original sexbound and a newer version. But according to filenames neither of them are Sexbound Reborn.

 

This then results in the Lustbound SBR Patch, which is updating Lustbounds script files to use SBR features that obviously do not exist, crashing. If you want SBR support, at least use the mod.

 

Other than that, you have two stray folders that are somewhat loaded but not recognized as mods - "bow patch" and "rsxb reborn". If the latter is supposed to be SBR, you installed it wrong. And tried to use THREE version of sexbound at the same time, which is a never before seen level of madness.

 

You're also using "Lustbound Tentacle Tweak" which, iirc, is a broken outdated mod by itself that should not be used.
