I've stumbled across a possible fix for dyndolod flickering. It might be another mod overwriting skyrim lod ini settings.
Go to the 'A Clear Map of Skyrim and Other Worlds' mod in UI, open the 'A Clear Map of Skyrim.ini'. Find the following lines:

uLockedObjectMapLOD=3

uLockedTerrainLOD=32
Comment them out:

;uLockedObjectMapLOD=3

;uLockedTerrainLOD=32

Save the ini, start up skyrim, see if the flickering continues (and also check the world map to make sure it still looks ok).

IWFM, YMMV.

I've got them both flagged as ESL, doesn't seem to have broken anything.

I appreciate the updated "possible causes" entry.  For me, I don't use the Clear Map mod, so that one isn't a factor.  I remember seeing that when searching for possible causes, and looked at those ini adjustments - and they weren't a factor for my setup.

 

The issue seems to be consistently related to the Whiterun area.  I don't use Ryn's Whiterun stuff, or any overhaul mods to the area.  The only mod I have that makes changes to the Whiterun exterior area is The Ancient Profession, which adds a brothel near the Battleborn farm.  The entire building has LOD issues, and the road out front, and a stone wall nearby.  However, with that mod removed entirely and LOD rebuilt without it, issues still existed on the road, and the wall... so not the cause.  It seems to be a cell(?) issue, one there by the Battleborn farm, and one right outside the Whiterun gate (LOD unload issue at the guard tower and drawbridge).  Since I don't use any of the overhauls called out in the guide, the exact locations may be different than others see, but they all seem to be Whiterun related, and some underlying rando cause is still to be isolated.   

 

I found my workaround, with abandoning seasons.. but hopefully something is found for others.  :)

Yes, thats right. It's because its not really a mod, its just extra bash tags. Well, tag, so far.
When you install it and get:

Just click OK, then click Ignore. Once installed, you can also right-click and select "Ignore missing data" to remove the warning.
The contents of the mod (if you look at its filetree) is a folder called BashTags (from the zip file) containing a tag file, and a meta.ini (created by MO2).

Pretty sure I do (although given my legendary perception, wouldn't be surprised if I missed something).
I got it working with a quick 5 minute patch. Think it was bash patch not correctly merging those NPCs, but if its not affecting you, its probably not affecting most people, and is just a side effect of my cursed optional extra mods.

While this may not be news, I'm happy to report that Yamete Kudasai is a great 'defeat' mod. I haven't been able to test the feeding option as I'm not a vampire yet. Also, while you can strip and tie up your victim, you then have to back out of the YK options & initiate the scene as you would with other NPCs. I myself have been robbed, so that part works as well. Will keep testing!

Out of curiosity, Has anyone tested the addition of quest content such as Moonpath to Elsweyr or Beyond Skyrim - Bruma to the mod list? Legacy of the Dragonborn is adding a lot to the game for me, and I'm interested in adding even more content if at all possible. I'm a slut for storytelling, what can I say? ?

Atm i'm testing 'Yamete REDUX 1.28'.

 

The two questmods should work fine (aka they did before). But Bruma adds a lot of weapons and armors which will bloat the menues for crafting. I got my eyes on 'Heart of the Reach' and 'Legends of Aetherium'.

Weapon Speed Mult Fix seems to do the trick in regard to weapon speed. Already had several fights and no slow-downs.

Added a few more comments regarding the CCC.

The file for the torches works flawlessly and will be added. Thanks again. ?

@Aylis still getting a problem with sinding whenever I start Ill met by moonlight. He appears and starts to transform then he just turns into a pair of floating dick and balls and vanishes, have you had this problem at all?

Got done putting the list together yesterday. This includes a few changes, namely replacing The Great Cities with Cities of the North where applicable, and doing my damnedest to get Northern Roads and its billion patches up and running, and after fixing a couple of landscape seams, it seems I've done it! Everything works!
Except...

I now have the questionable honor of including myself in the small choir of folks having LOD issues, exclusively around Whiterun. I haven't really tried fixing it yet. Might try and disable Northern Roads and see if it helps my own case, though I am a bit sceptical considering others are having the same issue. If push comes to shove I suppose I could run it without seasons, as that seems to have worked for @Bigglsby. Ah well, back to the drawing board...

Did you deactivate the changes to werewolves in 'Moonlight Tales'?

Hi, i have finished installing the guide up to the "physics and animations mods" part and when i test ingame i have this glitch with the soil terrain

It looks like a parallax bug from the PI-CHO ENB. If i disable the ENB effect the artifacts are gone

I believe that up to now i have followed the guide very closely!

Almost certainly is. I had the same thing with a borked Pi-Cho installation.
First try removing the enbcache folder from your Skyrim installation folder.
If that doesn't work, try a complete removal and reinstallation of ENB and Pi-Cho.

A new Seasonal Landscapes addition mod that might bear looking into Aylis - missing worldspaces added.  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/90846?tab=description

 

I found interesting in the mod description a bit more specific description of what is going on with the LOD unload issues (referenced differently, form swap failures), and this author's individual solution of using a base object swap for identifiable problems.  

 

Possibly more exciting, there is yet another Dyndolod version update, and looking at the change log, it specifically references cleaning up some failed form swaps.  So, cautious optimism for those fighting LOD unload issues with seasons...?  It's not specifically mentioned as such, but the causal description from the above mod suggests it's not impossible..

For those invested in their play through, since I'm (always and ever) just starting a new game, I'm ripping up my LOD gen and getting seasons reset to see if this new DyndoLOD version helps.  I'll report back either way.

 

Update:

3 DyndoLOD run attempts, with the last two getting "out of memory" errors at the very end...  sorry no results yet, hopefully tomorrow.  Not sure if I'll have success before calling it for the night.

Do you mean set it to vanilla transformations only? No not yet. I'll go back and do that and see if it works.

A couple thoughts on that seasonal addition. It requires Unfrozen which almost certainly does not meet your threshold. Does it address all the MEH from unfrozen? And will it continue to do so?
Compability patches available for Happy Little Trees and Seasonal Aspen Trees but not Nature of the Wildlands. ?

And lots of landscape edits. That will turn out well ?

Update on the hopeful LOD fix with the new version of DyndoLOD.  No change, didn't fix the problem (at least the unload problem around Whiterun with Seasons).

 

Would like to have gotten a quicker result, but in all it took 6-7 runs before I got a no-crash finish.  Ugh.

 

Sorry for the false hope all, don't bother re-running with crossed fingers.
