Flagging ESP as ESL

It is relatively easy to flagg an ESP as ESL so it won't take a slot in the limited space for ESP. As it might cause problems i recommend to do it one by one and test the game for stability issues. But usually it should cause no issues if you follow those steps.

Spoiler

1. Start 'Wrye Bash' via MO2

2. Look for the mod you wan't to flagg as ESL.

3. Check if it shows up with a 'green' text (those are the ones that can possibly be converted).

4. Rightclick on the ESP and select 'Check ESL Qualification'.

I already did the check for mods in the guide.

5. If a window pops up listing it as 'ESL Capable' proceed with the next step.

6. Rightclick on the ESP again and select 'Add ESL Flag'.

7. Repeat the steps 'til you got all the mods you want to flagg.

8. Simply close 'Wrye Bash' and you're done.

Now replace ESL with ESM and skip steps 3-5.

Flagged 'Draugr (Overhaul)' as incompatible with 'MNC' and 'ABC'. There's a reason why i don't like those two mods. There are way too many good mesh mods i can't use with them installed.

In the end i might try to find another (optional) combination for OStim/Opensex that actually works. Better visuals and alignment plus i get rid of the creature stuff that causes so many problems.

The Folkvangr patch for Orc Strongholds - Largashbur and the Immersive Dawnguard Dayspring Pass patch for Unique Border Gates are still listed on the main page.

In addition to what @Aylishas said, you are saving then loading during mod initialisation. After exiting racemenu and naming your character, be patient and wait until the notification stream (top left) has finished showing new messages, and you've dealt with any pop-up message boxes before attempting any save and reload.

@Aylis Okay, so my theory was correct, my issue was in the DynDOLOD settings, the / object and /tree objects both had billboard6 for LOD32, though / is supposed to be level0 iirc, reran DynDOLOD with that change and now the issue is gone™. Unfortunately, a new issue has appeared:

Spoiler

Screenshot40.thumb.png.9031ad90ceec2443246a06df43e3d8c3.pngScreenshot39.thumb.png.a23d82c168204549c473cb930818347c.pngScreenshot33.thumb.png.a70d397d48c65625d7eb9cef0231fdaa.pngScreenshot35.thumb.png.d0311a8ddc207781aa81e21b3211b5ad.pngScreenshot36.thumb.png.c883a431214582899eda8b4a179376c0.pngScreenshot34.thumb.png.21612164331daaafb45142ce7495ee58.pngScreenshot38.thumb.png.fc0241637a90ece5412b234f91f2f395.pngScreenshot37.thumb.png.2c29b3830a60bf1bfc8fc27927899a5a.png

As can be seen there, floating mushrooms on the Treasure Island in Lake Geir right in front of the Sarethi Farm (which is apparently a Vanilla thing, never actually noticed there were Treasure Hunters, a camp and all that over there). I'm not quite sure what the issue is for that, but tbh it's not really the end of the world.

And then just a little further near the Ragged Hills Dolmen, which lies in Lake Geir as well, is a fallen tree that is purple, aka missing textures? but then from the other side of it it looks fine-ish with low quality textures, sort of like the billboard issue of yesterday- should we just remove the tree's billboard6 LOD32 thing as well since it seems to cause issues, and besides LOD32 was mostly being used to get the map thing working, which is fixed now by, you know, using a paper map instead of using the game's LOD32? Although, that would remove the billboard floating texture where the tree is issue, not fix the purple texture on the tree, I think? No expert on DynDOLOD though.

Sometimes, this whole DynDOLOD thing feels like it's more trouble then it's worth, I never used such a thing prior to using this modlist, and never really cared for it, then again, I also never really cared for attempting to make the game look good beyond characters and armors and stuff, so that might just be because my threshold for caring about graphics is pretty low.

For 2. most of those appear to be version issues, which I also have, they're generally fine to have, the star thing says there's a new version out, except a lot of the stuff in this modlist are multiple mods/patch things contained in a single mod page, which means files have different versions there and only the bigger version counts as "up to date", the issue wouldn't be there for that if instead of making individual patches on such pages, they put everything in a FOMOD, but alas, not every mod author/patcher follows this ideal. The red triangles on the other hand are "your version is higher than the one on Nexus", which is a funny issue in that sometimes mod authors will upload an updated version but forget to this increase the version number on Nexus, while properly doing it on their mod's file, or even worse, they'll have an irregular versioning scheme, both of which causes MO2 to put that up. For both of them I personally go and right click => ignore update on those files. When I'm ready to actually update I can right click and "Check for updates" which will force those to check for updates as well, and also filter out the mods that don't have updates so you can easily update them (or reignore them).

For the rest of it though, you're correct, kinda feels like they installed all the mods at and then once done, selected everything in the left pane and enabled them all in one go, which would place them all out of order like that, or ran loot/sort on the plugin list, which is generally not a good idea in this modlist.

Posted

@Aylis Speaking of LOOT, just opened it for a second to see if it spotted any issues, which is what I'm mostly using it for, not sorting stuff:

Fluffworks compatibility - Moonlight Tales

Growl - Werebeasts of Skyrim

The former is incompatible with the latter, because the former patches Moonlight Tales SE with it's esp file and not Moonlight Tales Mini. It also leads to having 2 ancient rings in the inventory, one of which works well and the other well, calling it a mess might be the kindest way to call it? Are we supposed to hide the esp for fluffworks or is the main Moonlight Tales fluffworks patch the wrong thing to download?

Also, LOOT keeps spitting a billion things all over the place about Bash Tags, telling us to add or remove tags from plugins or masters? Not quite sure what that's about or if we should care about this one though.

1. Will take a look,

2. No floating mushrooms at the isle.

3. Trees are fine here.

Pic #6 clearly shows LOD artefacts that shouldn't be there. This is most likely caused by a bad/broken mesh.

4. DynDOLOD is 'prissy'. One small error and you have to redo it again. But once it is working it has a very positive effect (and i really hate pop-ins).

5. He deleted his post so i can't take a closer look (i'm in the middle of creating a patch for DynDOLOD).

6. Yep, i got the same impression.

7. Nope, not incompatible (werewolves are working). But it looks like i missed an additional mod for it.

8. Loot got quite a few false positives.

9. Just ignore the tags LOOT reports.

Hello hello. Thanks for the mod list. I've been playing with the complete mod list for about 80 hours now and it looks and feels great.
I have some notes to push your way for things I've found.

In addition to your list I also use Populated Skyrim Hell.

I played 40 hours on a single character first and what I found was the game getting progressively laggy. I went through the active scripts when I couldn't take it anymore and discovered it was the Nightrobes for Sleeping NPCs script that was running 520 instances every single frame, despite me being in the open world with only 2 followers at the time. I believe that means it was keeping track of every NPC I've met up until this point and this is why it was getting progressively shittier to play 😅
In any case, I removed that mod, which forced me to have to restart a new save as, even though I could load into my save file after cleaning it, it would crash the next time it saved, whether auto or manual. But during the time I could play it on this save, my FPS went back to normal. So I did manage to fix the issue and was happy starting a new game.

In addition, I did have several crashes out in the snowy areas, and softlocks when talking to armor vendors.
I eventually managed to trace the crashes down to the Animated Carriages. So I've removed that too.
And for the softlocks occasionally when talking to vendors, that was the Realistic Armor mod. It seems to have a bug where if there is an enchantment on one of the armors, it softlocks when opening on a vendor screen if they are selling it.

Since removing these 3 mods. I've played a further 40 hours on a new character and I have not crashed or soft-locked a single time. 🙂

An additional change I ended up making is to remove the `New Winking Skeever` in favor of JK's Winking Skeever. The reason for this is that The New Winking Skeever keeps the old version loaded in the world but off screen, so you can't get there... This would normally be fine, but a bunch of NPCs (and especially ones from mods) actually spawn in the old area and you can only get there with the `TCL` console command; which is a no-no for me 😅

I also have additional Mod Recommendations.

Skyrim Save System Overhaul: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/122343
Dead NPC Remover: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10614
Grass FPS Booster: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20082
Exterior FPS Boost - Occlusion Culling: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54907

When going for a mod list as large as this I believe it is essential to have auto-saves kick in regularly. So the save system overhaul can be `nice to have`.
The other 3 I've found have consistently worked flawlessly and I have definitely noticed an FPS boost. My PC runs much quieter since installing those. In regards to the occlusion culling. It does make Winterhold (with the updated layout) visually blip in and out of existence depending on where you are standing. But it works everywhere else just fine, and I think that trade off is worth it.

Love your work. It was a painfully long process to get the whole mod setup going on my side. But absolutely loving it. Big thanks for your effort 🙂

1. I believe a recentish version update removed Nightrobes for precisely that reason

2. Animated Carriages crashes are actually Pandora bugs from version 2.3.0+, using 2.1.5-alpha I don't get those crashes, at the same time, some people seem to not get any crashes with newer Pandora builds, so while I've put out a bug report for it on Pandora's Github, for now the issue is still present. It doesn't exclusively happen with Animated Carriages either, Someone else has a bug report where the crash happens when using SeranaXXX Dead Sexy or whatever that mod group is called.

3. Not aware of the softlocks issue, but then again, my usual playstyle tends to be not to buy weapons or armor unless necessary and instead going for whatever I'm looting. So, can't confirm nor deny the issue either way.

4. I have mentioned the Winking Skeever stuff, there's actually a way to get to the old one I believe hidden in a barrel on the roof of one specific house in Solitude, which helps with mods that place NPCs there. However, when too lazy, `tcl` works as well. Either way, it doesn't really matter in my opinion.

5. SSSO isn't in the modlist but I've also been using it instead of the default save system cause I was having saving crashes in the past, which that fixed somehow.

For the rest, I personally don't have anything to say, don't know them, haven't tried them, don't need them so far either.

@pokemonfreak

Nice first post. 😊

The nightrobes are already gone. I noticed that behaviour a few weeks ago and immediaately removed the mod from the guide.

I'll most likely remove the animated carriages. It is a nice idea in itself, but the execution got a few issues. When it works it really adds to the game, but when you see it bugging out it ruins that. Sadly the longer you play the more you seem to get those bugs. 🤔

The armors i can't confirm as those have so far worked fine here. But i'll keep an eye on it.

Got to take a closer look at the inn. JK's mods are great with the exception of the inns and Dragonreach. So i got to think about it.

I'll take a look at the suggestions. 😊

Well, for the second point, turns out the other person with the Serana issue closed it cause apparently VR and OAR's experimental "disable animation limits" option causes crashes, unfortunately, I was hoping the animated carriages crash issue could be this for me too, but nope, that setting's turned off by default, so if turning it off was gonna fix it, it would simply have never happened. At this point, I guess the real question is, are animated carriages more important than a newer version of Pandora, at least until Pandora fixes it, if they even can?

Also, animated carriages as a whole are relatively buggy even when they do work, the amount of people mentioning issues like the carriages going on alone with characters floating in mid air and other random issues with them is staggering, and I've experienced them as well, I'm starting to think either the issue is with the mod itself, or, even worse, it's probably the Skyrim engine in general. Case in point, I distinctly remember a lot of bug videos and occasionally experienced it, where the starting vanilla cutscene carriage ride would bug out with the carriage just flying off or getting blocked by something or just colliding into the one right in front, and such. It's highly probable even that this entire AC issue is a pure Skyrim engine bug that AC is forced to suffer from.

Hotfix

I've been running around to check problematic areas for errors. And i saw not a single carriage running properly (rest was good). Running fine at first, then having a few glitches, and now going completely bonkers? Even if i like the idea very much, i don't think that mod is worth all the trouble.

And as you seem to encounter more and more issues as well i have to remove it right now.

You can set a button in sexlab to cycle through the animations.

Sidenote

The last missing pieces for my system upgrade arrived today. So tomorrow i'll be taking everything apart to install them.

A new PCIe version and removing the card for NVME should massively improve my 3080 (got 25% bandwidth on the slot atm). Plus advancing the CPU a few generations should help as well (Ryzen 3600X to Ryzen 7700).

----------------------------------------------------

Just took a look at the new RAM and they even look better than on the website. I only hope they work as well as my old RAM. This is the first time in years i'm not buying Corsair so i hope it won't bite me in the b... ehind.

LGA is a bit scary. Never ever used this socket form before... Ouch! This is definitely no ZIF.

The difference between LGA and the other one is simply which side has the pins, the motherboard or the CPU, in other words, it's basically the same except that if the pins bend or break, the cost of replacing what broke can be astronomically higher if it's the CPU, or astronomically more annoying to replace if it's the MB (cause then you have to remove everything that's plug onto it, remove the board, get a replacement, and rebuild with the replacement...).

Posted (edited)

@Kusoneko

The thing is i already repaired quite a few CPU with bent pins (a small sharp knife helps a lot).

But LGA is different. There are so many small pins in the board that this is almost impossible to repair. And i had my scare. Install everything, power up, and...  no picture but an error code from the mainboard. And MSI didn't include any informations about those codes. 🙄

Wohoooo! Fun!

But, as you can see, i got it working. Now some stability tests and i can finally close the case.

----------------------------------------------------

Holy s....!

I expected an improvement, but not this. What i had as maximum FPS before is now the minimum.

DynDOLOD really is trying hard to make me angry and decide to delete the fuck out of it:

I already checked and my drivers are the latest recommended ones, as usual. This piece of shit just decides to put out that error *every single time* these past few days. And the file in question that it fails at processing of course always changes so it's not the file that's the issue either. I've been thinking hard about the possibility of just dropping DynDOLOD altogether for this shit, except the modlist is so intrinsically linked with DynDOLOD things that I no longer know what I'd have to leave or remove to make sure it works but without DynDOLOD being a pain in my ass.

Kinda wish we could tell it "Ignore this error and retry/skip the file and also continue on" instead of being hard stopped like this.

Gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics drivers, if it doesn't help, well, idk what I'll do then...

DynDOLOD really is trying hard to make me angry and decide to delete the fuck out of it:

I already checked and my drivers are the latest recommended ones, as usual. This piece of shit just decides to put out that error *every single time* these past few days.  Okay, that fixed it, turns out TexGen is not a fan of AMD Adrenalin's bloatware, installing "drivers only" instead of "full install" fixed it. Unfortunately, DynDOLOD on it's end, is not pleased, yet again it found another reason to be a pain in the ass:

Like, be for real, there isn't a newer or older version of SkyUI SE, that's point 1, point 2 is WTF does SkyUI have to do with LODs? Nothing, that's what. *sigh*

Of course, turns out I updated JK's Blue Palace earlier, and apparently the JK's Interiors Patch Collection also needed an update download to go with it, even though MO2 didn't tell me when I did the "Check for updates" thing. *sigh* Now we'll see if it shits out another error...

Great, the patch in COTN Falkreath for Nature of the Wild Lands is now also causing problems. And it's patch collection had an update that of course MO2 didn't tell me about. *sigh*

Yay, that was the last error, now it's done doing the wall of errors and it's actually creating the LOD! They truly invented this app to be the most obnoxious annoyance ever...
