I used Starfrost when I had a working game.  I really liked it as it was lightweight.  You need to eat, sleep and stay warm but nothing would kill the player just minor regen effects or slow your movement pace when cold.  Survival without getting in the way too much.  If I rebuild my game, I may try the new needs mod instead. Edmond's Immersive Needs.  Hunger, balanced diet, thirst and sleep are what is involved.  He suggests adding frostfall for cold effects but I don't like cold restrictions so I would l skip that.  Good info on the modpage as well. For Starfrost you need Survival and the Survival upgrade in your mod list.  For Immersive Needs, disable Survival Mode CC when you start a new game.  Immersive Needs handles the rest.

It has been patched for ZAZ months ago.

I tested all the combat mods and went back to vanilla. Same thing with mods that change mob AI. Mobs are still dumb. I can recommend NPCs Take Cover, they are still dumb, but at least it's something. And Better Difficulty Options increases the difficulty of the game globally.

Enemy Revolution Expanded, Enemy Revolution of Skyrim (eeos), Precision, Violens, SCAR, Wait your Turn, Valhalla Combat, Locational Encounter Zones, Arena - Encounter Zone Overhaul 🥰, Elden Parry, Maxsu Block Overhaul, Dynamic Block hit and some of the Simonrim suite of mods to stop me from getting overpowered.  Mostly the enchanting mod but the system slows powering up armor and weapons.  Cannot spam alchemy, smithing or enchanting.  Not Blade and Blunt as I don't like the injury system.  Also skip the werewolf and vampire mods.  

 

Not sure which mods are limited to 1.6.640.  Maybe the dTry mods.  

 

For me, this system stops me from getting overpowered and perks up the enemies.  Have to fight smart at all levels.  If I get too strong in late game (been months since I played that long), I drop an armor piece in favor of clothing.  Also I never put perks in light or heavy armor.  Keeps it fun and challenging.

Note

'Storage' is finally gone and i went from 3 separate pages for the browser (only symbols for tabs showing) to one (with a lot less tabs).

For 'Seasons' we'll have to wait for the update of the grass mod.

 

Flagged 'Draugr (Overhaul)' as incompatible with 'MNC' and 'ABC'. There's a reason why i don't like those two mods. There are way too many good mesh mods i can't use with them installed.

 

In the end i might try to find another (optional) combination for OStim/Opensex that actually works. Better visuals and alignment plus i get rid of the creature stuff that causes so many problems.

1. KreatE is missing afaik, and it's required for that preset thing.

2. Does OStim not support creature stuff at all or does it support it in a more elegant way that allows for creature overhauls to work with them?

2.1. Also, replacing SexLab with OStim might not be the best, I haven't looked at OStim much (besides a few occasional looks here and there at the mod pages), but I'm pretty sure (most of) the good sex quest mods are exclusively using SexLab, not necessarily because OStim is worse, probably more because SexLab was here first (and also offers less control to the user I believe, which helps with some badly designed sex quest mods that will somehow require you to go through one or more forced scenes, either bondage or full on sex scene, and they try to implement it in a way that the player cannot actually do anything to avoid it, unfortunately, badly designed does not in fact mean bad quest, as can be seen by, say the Sisterhood, stuff, it's honestly a miracle it works at all considering how much of a mess it is, yet, it is fairly good, putting aside the corruption route which I can't figure out a way to properly roleplay it).

All fixed.

 

You don't want to know how long we had to work on fixing the sisterhood. Mesh issues left and right (statues, clothing, etc), not to mention the problems with the faces (which still arn't fixed completely). And, as long as it stays this way, i won't even consider to add more of his mods.

 

Almost overlooked:

With OStim/OpenSex there are no creature animations (at least it was so when i last checked). There might be something for vampires but thats all. I only hope the automatic mode works again and i don't have to fiddle with the UI.

Predone bodyslides will be delayed. Atm uploads lock up my system for quite some time.

 

Hopefully the new computer will help. The new AM5 mainboard is already here, RAM is selected, but the CPU is a bit pricy atm. For now i'm considering either a Ryzen 7 7700 or a Ryzen 5 9600X. The 9700X is just too expensive and the Ryzen 5 7500F could be a short-term solution 'til i can save up some money... We'll see, two more days 'til i can order the last missing parts.

If you can hold out long enough to save up for an X3D sku, it really is worth it for gaming - Skyrim/Fallout really like the extra cache.  I got the 5800X3D when it was released years ago, and it is still faster than most non-X3D variants to date when it comes to gaming.  Best price/performance if that is your primary use case and don't otherwise need a ton of threads.

No X3D for me.

 

To really use one of those i'd need a new videocard and a new monitor too. With the current prices here that would mean something around 1700-2000€ (including the CPU). There's no way i could come up with that amount of money. And with the prices NVidia asks for their videocards i'm always tempted to give them the swabian salute of Götz von Berlichingen.

Alright now that everything's setup™, and I made some very temporary zeroed bodyslides for MCE (F), Falmer Equip (M and F) and DF (M and F), which are likely to be crap but so long as they work good enough for this test playthrough it'll be fine, I'm mostly aiming to be able to test a pandora version or 3 for the crashes I kept getting last time around on 2.3.0, since my bug report got told to test 2.3.5 but there has also been 2.3.6 and 2.4.0 released since, so I'm gonna go test those and compare the crashiness with good old 2.1.5, the still undefeated champ for my setup for now.

Okay, the Pandora testing's done, and we're back to 2.1.5-alpha cause the newer versions still cause crashes :c

This is mostly around the road between Windhelm and Sarethi Farm, and on the farm itself. Not quite sure what changed between the last time I played and this time that would explain these issues. Any clue what might have caused this? I haven't visited elsewhere since that's roughly where the cave I spawned in was using the witch start.

Some of those look suspiciously like dyndolod lods not being unloaded/updated. If it is, possible causes can be script/engine lag, or low memory (amongst others). If, next time you see the effect, you save, quit the game (to halt lag and free memory) and reload, and the textures are correct, it was a lod unloading bug (it should also update on changes of cell, so entering/leaving a building or cave should also fix it temporaily).

Which appears to be an updated version of DWA, it also apparently supports OStim and TNG as well as basically everything else the one we're currently using supports. The one we're using hasn't been updated since 2022, and while it still works, well, some things can be buggy, and also it doesn't support TNG since TNG is relatively recent, this one does. And if you move along with your idea of replacing SL with OStim this one will support it.

 

Although personally, after a quick research on the subject, I don't think dropping SL for OStim is advisable, not because OStim is worse, but like I said earlier, unfortunately, there's little content for OStim outside of the official content, which is a shame, to be honest. On one hand, more people using OStim might eventually convince modders to support it, on the other hand, since the default is still SL, using OStim is artificially and purposefully restricting our access to basically 95% of all LL mods.

 

Hi there!

 

You can run OStim and SL at the same time. OSL Aroused will work with both and share the same arousal values.

 

No creatures in OStim. I think there is a vampire add-on Devour but I've never tried it.

 

DWA NG will detect both OStim and SL scenes, it is ESLified, localized, some bugs fixed, and changes the old NPC cloak to SPID distribution so you can restrict who gets the effects (for performance or just preferences).

Normally correct. But there have been some changes regarding the landscape and if you use old DynDOLOD files they won't match the new ones we just added/replaced.

 

Same goes for texture packs (like the one i tested for Whiterun) or other meshes. My count for rerunning DynDOLOD is more than 400 because of that (and DynDOLOD being 'prissy').

@Aylis So, unrelated to the above there's Dripping When Around NG (last updated this month) which is a relatively recent alternative to Dripping When Aroused SE (last updated in 2022) that is being used in the modlist. I've actually been using it for a while apparently and had no issue. It supports all the SE supports + TNG and OStim, if you ever decide to go with that.

 

 

Although, personally, I won't be going for OStim as after some research on it, all I've noticed is that there's basically nothing but vanilla consensual sex. No DD, no defeat, no [insert any kink here] and no quest mods. That alone makes me lose interest in it quite a bit tbqh. Like yes it seems to allow for finer control over animations and such, and therefore is a good tool to get screenshots or videos of sex scenes I guess, but at the same time, having to work to properly set up a scene every single time sounds annoying and having to learn how to use the framework vs SL's essentially "it just works™ (with some minor alignment/whatever issues)". I've read that you can use both SL and OStim however, that just seems like asking for more issues with regards to mod compatibility. It's a bit unfortunate that OStim lacks so many things, tbh, I'm fairly sure if it had support for all of these things, it might just have replaced SL instead of now having SLP+ and OStim.

 

(I had a former iteration of this message, but following a look at my installed mods I thought the mod recommendation was already part of the modlist and deleted it before realizing actually I had it a while back and just apparently forgot to suggest it here? So here we go, a re-do of the deleted post, not exactly identical but close enough I guess.)

Did you rerun the grass precache?

Yes, I'll add to this that I updated the last 2-3 updates but never played or tested them at the time, so it might be something from those as well. I did rerun the entire DynDOLOD stuff. The issue does not appear to be grass, though, as my screenshots are mostly showing either conflicting textures on wood or stone things and some weird extremely low quality meshes just floating around on top of high quality meshes. With the low quality meshes having no collision, somehow? Maybe from back when we switched from DynDOLOD-made map to the paper map some DynDOLOD settings I was using for the map should have been removed but weren't? But then again, those things weren't issues back then so I don't know why they would suddenly be issues now? High level of confusion here on this specific issue tbqh.

No creatures in OStim. I think there is a vampire add-on Devour but I've never tried it.

 

DWA NG will detect both OStim and SL scenes, it is ESLified, localized, some bugs fixed, and changes the old NPC cloak to SPID distribution so you can restrict who gets the effects (for performance or just preferences).

 

 

 

Yes hilariously enough, I rewrote that message after removing it as stated above and note most of these issues. Although, vampires don't work by default? That's even worse than I thought, to be honest. I mean what's even the point if you can't fuck Serana? :^) Just kidding but, yeah, basically my issue with OStim vs SL remains that OStim has a severe lack of content that isn't pure vanilla consensual sex. There's little point in installing a second framework to do the same thing as the first one, but with more control, when it also does way less in every other way that matters. Practically more of a tool to make 3D porn videos as far as I can tell than an actual Sex Animation framework.

I agree. OStim lacks the content that SL has built up over years. I resisted trying it for a long time but now I'm using a wabbajack for VR that includes it and modifying to my taste. The interface/controls are nice but I'm just using autoplay for the most part. Its fast and smooth and has a growing user base so I'm giving it a go. I might try to update some other mods to use OStim too, or at least be compatible for folks who want to use both.

 

I'm pretty sure you can engage with Serana just fine, though I couldn't get the included vampire bite animations to play. I think maybe you need the add-on for that.

You have to manually flag 'Freak's Floral Fields.esp' as master. OA is aware and will fix this (and DynDOLOD errors) later.
