LDW's Crimson Closet for UNP Slim, UNP, UNP?, and UNPB

Finally, The holidays are over.  I hope everybody had a good one. Now I can get back to a somewhat normal schedule.

I have been working on half a dozen different things, trying out this and that.  Was watching a movie and thought "Skyrim needs one of them."

If anybody can guess what, (or who) it is, they will get to pick a prize out of my bag of way too much stuff.

Here are your hints,

  • A character from a movie usually shown around the holidays, but is not a holiday movie.
  • The character is male but there is no reason of it not to be female.
  • The character fits in the word of Skyrim, with magic and sword, and castles.
  • It is neither a new movie or a really old movie, but it is one of the best movies of all times.

You have until I have a rough draft ready for some screen shots, which should be in a few days.

:P

The last hint pretty much narrows it down to LOTR series, unless you meant YOUR best movie of all times.  It's male and we already have plenty of wizard robes and elf outfits in Skyrim which leaves only Aragorn's ranger uniform...

Legend is only a couple of years earlier.

There's not enough clothing in Conan.

Not LOTR. Most of them have been done in one form or another.

Every good hint I could give would give it away. Every crappy hint I could give would mostly give it away.

The character is male, but there is no rule in the lore that says it has to stay that way.

If LOTR is out then so is Willow or every conventional fantasy sword and wizardry movie for that matter.  This kinda leaves only the Highlander.  To many it is one of the best movies of all time and the time matches.  I am sure it's not Sean Connery's "Spaniard" or any of the modern outfits which leaves the highland warrior attires.

The tartan texture has been around but no one has done a proper outfit:

BTW, Highlander is post-Middle Ages so that look is way after Skyrim fashion lore not that it matters in the LDW house of fashion.  The cloth in Braveheart makes more sense though.

Highlander is great but no. That came out the same year as Legend.  You have to move forward one year.

Sorry Germanicus, there are no elves.   All the characters in the film are human.

I'll need the characters name. He has two in the film so either one will do.

You can guess as many times as you like.

Ladyhawk is 1985.

One of the characters two names in the film is actually based on a real person doing the same "job" in the 18th century. The main story's location would be somewhere in medieval Europe or england if it was real.

Princess Bride?

Someone already guessed that above.

I give up.  Besides Conan, The Princess Bride, Highlander, Willow, Legend and Ladyhawke, there are no other movies with sword and magic that can even be considered decent by a normal person from that era.

EDIT: unless you disqualified The Princess Bride guesses because no character was named.  In that case, Westley/Dreaded Pirate Roberts.  I hope this is not the case because it seems like a technicality.  Also, what's so special about the cloth in that movie?

Ash from Evil Dead? Evil Dead 2, specifically - came out in 1987 and seeing as his character wound up precisely in a castle when Army of Darkness happened, so you could twist that to say he'd fit. And really aside from the fact his love interest was a woman, there's no reason he couldn't have been female. Two names - Ashley is his name but he goes by Ash. Even has two jobs - clerk at S-Mart and demon slayer!

Problem being lol S-Mart clerk in 18th century.

Not a technicality. The rules were to guess the characters name.

Dread Pirate Roberts is correct. You are the winner.

I'll email you in a day or so, so you can pick what you want.

If Dracula is not correct, I will give up too. I'm not that smart in riddles, I guess.

Elves never give up, so neither can you.  That would disappoint the girls quite a bit.

Since you kept playing, I have decided to give you a prize as well.  I'll email you in a day or so.

Here is my really early rough draft. Still lots of work to do.  A female Dread Pirate Roberts must hide her identity, while still maintaining her appeal.
