Sexy Bandit Captives © [WIP] Support Thread

Just adding another oddity I encountered today. I cleared and rescued a captive from Fort Fellhammer, went to an inn to get a new quest, was told to go to Whiterun. Went to Whiterun, and the Steward initially said, yes, we've had some problems, then after a pause, says, "That's all I know." I get no quests off him at all.

 

So I console StartQuest SBCRecovery, and there are no known camps, but a full list of unknowns, some in the Whiterun area. I go to the closest Deserter Camp, slightly upstream of the Guardian Stones on the opposite bank, and get a hit, but it says 'Free Viera Mero from Fort Fellhammer'. I kill the bandits, and there's Viera Mero in the Deserter Camp. I subjugate her (she's a favourite) drop her off at home, go in search of another Deserter Camp.

 

I find one in the hills overlooking Falkreath, and get the message "Free Zanona from Fort Felhammer". Kill the bandits, and there's Zanona waiting to be freed in the Deserter Camp, not Fort Fellhammer at all. I free her and head out.

 

I go back to Fort Fellhammer, and even though it was marked as 'Cleared' on the map, I realized I didn't clear out the mine, so I killed the bandits in the mine, and the next time I went to a bandit camp, its name was displayed correctly. This also seemed to fix Steward Avenicci's difficulty in giving me the new Whiterun quest.

 

Just thought I'd let you know that this is a thing that can happen.

@Blackbird Wanderer My problem persists with the quest either stopping and not updating the journal or the NPC (kitty) vanishing no marker), in the spoiler tag is what I have in journal after I retrieved the item in question from the Barrel by the house after the 1st attempt failed when no servants would do it for me and no dialouge options on Elisif or Falk Firebeard and the wardrobes only had a clean unscented version 

 

I tried the SBCRecovery option but it did not seem to help. I am on the latest version on a fresh save after I installed it, to try to get the quest to advance with the new release. 

 

SSE vers of skyrim. NON AE. 

 

EDIT:- I finally got past the issue, I managed to go back to a previous save before I failed the 1st sniff test and go to the next stage

I'm running the latest vers 0.98G off the download page, hard to tell tbh since the DL page has two random bunches of letters, no vers # or patch info, where would I find this patch 4, as I thought you included all patches we had out there into G version?

All patches previous were included.  Patch 4 changes some things after.

Weird thing:  I suggested a released captive go be a barmaid at the Bannered Mare, but once I'm there if I approach her I get no name, and I can't talk to her.  I've noticed that other suggested occupations get a title, like the one I sent to the Temple of Kynareth was named something like Acolyte <Name> or something.  (I don't know if it was actually acolyte, I can't remember.)  But it seems for my barmaid the naming process failed.  

 

Also, the Misc quest option of staying close to the master while doing the Walk To The Bannered Mare remained after the walk was over, and is still there even after ending my term as a slave.  This might be because whenever I get this task, I walk to the inn but never go inside (unless I actually need to go in for something.)  I get to the door, let the master go in, then they pop right back outside and the quest ends.

Weird on not being able to talk to her, but the lack of title is expected for barmaids.  Only suggested acolytes and guards get titles the way it's currently written.

 

Is she otherwise behaving as a barmaid?  That will indicate if the arrival process completed, and/or if she's running the correct AI Packages.

Well, it happened again. I started a new game, went up to the point where the Scot released the first captive, gave her Armor and a weapon, she went on her way and the quest to liberate etc. her is still stuck in my journal.

Still on Skyrim AE with the latest SBC from the download page but no further patches.

She is dressed in a custom barmaid outfit, and wanders around the bar, so I guess she is behaving correctly.  But pointing at her, I don't even get a name.  I assumed it was because she was renamed to have a title, but if thats not the case, something else broke because its as if she isn't there.  Like, normally when  you're close enough and you put the crosshairs on someone it says "Talk" over "Sylvia", but I don't even get the Talk part.

I've seen something similar happen with PAHE & HSH where a NPC (a slave in that case) stops being interactive (you can't activate them, talk to them, etc, but they keep doing whatever it is they were set to do).  I don't know what causes it unfortunately, other than when it happens with HSH best thing to do is reload from a save.  Its like the alias slot they are in gets corrupted somehow, they're in the alias but not accessible.

This sounds similar to an older bug in Paradise Halls.  For paradise halls, one could use Jaxonz Renamer to give the NPC a name and then one could talk to them.  It might work here as a temporary solution.

I'm stuck in the Between the Lines quest. Ma'dran has requested Elisif's panties. Only Elisif and Fire Beard have any lines, the (Whisper) lines, None of the other NPC's suggested by the Khajiit Ma'dran have any relevant dialog. I've stolen the panties from the various wardrobes in Elisif's room. Ma'dran has no dialog option to accept them. Not sure how to progress.

 

Skyrim SE (not AE) I have SBC loading last.

I had a similar issue a while back, but I would check you are using the most up to date version of SBC as when I went from last version to this one the dialogue returned, but as far as getting the right panties, I had no dialogue from Elsif (maybe I should not have enslaved her) or Falk, BUT I did find the lizard guy in Winking Skeever very handy. I would suggest rolling back your save a little though to see if you can get the missing part to fire on the quest.

You can always go to Gulem-Ei (for a price).  Make sure you have patch 4 loaded.

I keep getting sent to Falkreath by every innkeeper etc I ask, but going there, I can't find anyone with the relevant quests.  And Nenya is nowhere to be seen

 

I also have a heap of Stack Dumps in my save (between 40 and 50 so far), and a new one seems to be added each time I try to initiate further progress on the quest by talking to innkeepers etc

 

I just realised that when Falkreath was given to the Stormcloaks in the maIn game 'Season Unending' quest,  Nenya gets parked in The Blue Palace basement.  Will the quest as from Falkreath function OK if she's there?

 

Anyone else done/tried this, and how did you get on?

It should, but the mod was really intended to be initiated a bit earlier so being after the CW stuff is a bit odd.  Interested in what you find out.

**EDIT** for some reason after windows update the hair is back, strangest thing .......

 

How many after the translation is got, and you did the panty sniffer, do you have to save/ enslave before the main quest moves on from "check with an innkeeper" and save some more?

Check with an innkeeper should only appear when there are available Captives to rescue, however as you progress the number placed with each camp cleared increases by arithmetic growth.  The main Quest for SBC is still being written, so other than the rescue cycle you've reached the end of the currently developed content.

Just got to 90 again for the second time.  Only problem (besides the nameless barmaids) I ran into happened at the 2nd to last location.  It was Embershard Mine, had two captives and I freed them both and got credit for it in the quest log, but after I left Embershard it said I have to go back.  But once I'm back there's nothing to do.   Probably was just some script lag that caused something to not advance properly.

I went black to a clean save and played it all the way back up. Seems someplace along the way a script must have bombed. This time all of the relevant NPC's at least had dialog.

 

I did find it odd that even though Elisif is a lover she still refused to help. That and my guy can literally pick pocket the pants off a guard and steal the sword out of his hand and yet can't find any panties on Elisif. Just seems off.

Does anybody else have subjugated captives constantly standing on horses?  If they get near a horse ... up they go like a circus performer standing in the saddle. Trouble is the only way I've found to get them off the horse is to kill the horse. That's a good way to bring the wrath of an entire town down on you.

 

I'm using AFT seems that may be relevant.

 

And, is the subjugation mechanic explained someplace? Some time the subjugate option isn't available. Some times it's only there once. Sometimes it goes away if you make her persuade you. I'm confused.

Thanks for the comment/post.  That option just hasn't been written yet.  Falk too.  Those are placeholders for future development.  Lore answer: the options suggested by the Khajiit are just ideas and in some cases they are apparently wrong.

In the first bandit journal found the color scheme is explained.  Other than that it's still a mystery as to why it works the way it does and who devised them but, like gravity, their behavior is understood.

With the first Captive it should only there once.  Players kept trying to subjugate the first Captive over and over endlessly and complaining it didn't work (when it was deliberately set to fail at that point) so the option is removed after one try on the first Captive.  Post-persuade deserves a look if that's blocking something; will investigate.

I've had this happen on two different captives: the first subjugation attempt fails, and the option to try again disappears, leaving only "I know someone who can help," and "I might be able to help." (Neither of these two captives were the original "First Captive encountered" of the mod, with the first subjugation attempt guaranteed to fail.) It's only started happening since updating to patch 4.
