There are two functions that I'd be very much interested in.

 

Being able to run after sex scripts(It makes for a lot better experience if the quest doesn't update till after you did the it.)

 

Being able to make a package so people always have sex at said time for said time(sex in normal AI packages)

 

I don't know if they are already available, but I'd really like them.

I'm having trouble with the 120alpha2 update. Mostly, it has been working well, but now I have "Actor already animating" popups whenever sex is initiated. I was using the mf_radiantprostitution module at the time.

The main problem is that the error is being saved, so once it occurs you need to go to an earlier save.

I tried the 1.20 version 1 and 2 alpha, they don't work for me. I get the conversation but no animation. Then when speaking to the target they only repeat the conversation that occurs just prior to when the animation is supposed to occur. I did a install exactly as you suggested in this thread. I am using the Submit mod.

It probably won't work either way, but, just to be sure, use the Matchmaker mod for testing.

More major commits on the development branch now.

 

I've finished implementing all the main functionality of the new ActorAlias setup. It should provide a much more stable experience for the few of you having troubles with current versions of SexLab.

 

However my game is rock stable as is without this update, so I can't test if it's really helping stability at all. It should help stability in theory, but until people with stability issues test it, it's still just a theory.

 

So I've made a quick update package for people willing to help test it out:

Just drop it into your data folder that has a full v1.15b install and overwrite the existing scripts and esm. Once you load your save, you'll need to do a Clean System rebuild in the MCM menu so it can rebuild it's animation threads and actor alias list. It hasn't been optimized yet, so it may be slower in spots compared to previous versions, but not likely by any noticeable margins.

 

As this is an alpha test, use caution and don't overwrite your existing saves.

 

Things to look for after installing the alpha test patch:

  • Do the actors stand around not doing anything at the start of sex, even if for just a few seconds before starting?
  • If you had freezing or CTD issues starting, during, or ending sex, do you continue to have them?
  • Do you get message box during the animation process?
  • Try with TFC enabled throughout the animation, and without, did you have any complications/crashes as a result of TFC?

 

Downloading it and saying nothing is not "helping test." If you use this alpha test patch, good or bad LET ME KNOW YOUR RESULTS

Where were you freezing at?  Are you currently using FNIS4.0?  My freezing went away after I moved to the new FNIS4.0.. though it says "Beta", it really improved my syncing and issues where Actors 'froze', where I had to do a disable/enable on them.

 

I haven't tested this Alpha yet, i'm pretty steady, but I'll give it a go.

Quick update:

 

I just finished a "proof of concept" for a new method of storing the animations that will eliminate the need for individual scripts on every animation. It'll make it easier for other modders to expand the framework with their own add-on animations and clean up lot of now unnecessary scripting for better performance, all without breaking compatibility with current SexLab mods (unless they added animations, which right now is limited to zaz). 

 

Right now it's only working with the 2 animations I converted for testing, once I'm done converting the rest of the animations (which will be painfully tedious) and it all up, I'll be releasing another alpha test patch. Should be sometime tomorrow.

New major version on the development branch of git

 

This changes the way all animations are stored and loaded in the framework, turning 50 individual animation scripts, into a single script.

 

Shouldn't break any mods that interact with the animation scripts, but it will break any mods that add new animations to SexLab, since the method of adding animations has completely changed. The only effected mod to my knowledge should be the SexLab Zaz pack. If you're a modder who has added or plans to add animations, get in contact with me and I can get you up to speed on the new scheme for adding animations.

 

Going to be copying the system used for animations here over to Voices as well.

 

If you load this development version, you will need to do a clean & rebuild system in the MCM. 

 

Going to finish some other upgrades before releasing an Alpha patch, so it's only available via Git for now.

Kinda useless, as no modder should ever be animating with scales outside of the skeleton default.

I doublechecked, but noticed that there isn't any "Scale for the actor", the ObjectReference.GetScale() returns the base (yeah, it's annoying).  If you do a GetScale from the console you get both, from the script, the base shows up.  Worse, SetScale() sets the actor's scale adjusted by the base.  (Base is 1.0, actor is 9.5, setting the actor to 9.5, you get 9.)  I had this issue with my transformation code (hence what I'm about to show is from it):

This works 100% with custom races, that I've seen and tried (my transformation mod actually gets the right height to children as well as adults).  I've noticed "bizarre" scaling that in some cases caused misalignment during animations, some that seemed like they didn't need to happen, others went too far.  (Note, the above code doesn't set the scale there, but if you use it, once you've gotten the scale, use the NEW scale at the bottom and put it back, otherwise the character will noticably bounce:  Copy line 7 to line 13, to repeat it properly.)

 

 

On another note, I'm relatively new to here (just not modding), and in the course of a week and some, I've seen 3 mods that offer pregnancy, yet nothing in the lab that actually links/controls it.  Granted, there isn't animation (well, pregnancy birthing could be one), but there isn't any "system" for pregnancy.

 

The three mods I'm thinking of:  SexLab Procreation, Hentai's Pregnancy and Estrus Chaurus (yes, it is).  Problem is, all 3 of these "do" the same thing, but will destroy RP with the others.

 

If a segment was added that kept track of the pregnancy and the whole reproductive cycle, mods could ask the "current state of partner" and if pregnant, could offer up "Umm, sorry, but I'm not into pregnant women", plus, would also be a useful check for Estrus Chaurus and the spit wouldn't have to do a ton of tests to see if the person is pregnant already.

 

 

Unless of course the author wanted to be EVIL and force a violent abortion with a pool of blood and crushed baby bits on the ground oozing from her as her stomach flattens out after being attacked and impregnated. (Not exactly a nice abortion in any way/shape/form.)

 

 

If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, speak up, I'm interested in seeing that happen, because with a brothel, what happens if a woman gets pregnant from a client (Game of Thrones comes to mind here), obviously that woman isn't going to get any clients when she's showing (well, unless you're that weird kid still on breast milk).

 

If the setup is uniform (for all sorts of actors, not just humans), things like breeding animals could also be done through it and could coincide with some of the creature additions we're startting to see now in FNIS.

 

Just a thought to see if anyone would be interested in unifying this part of sex (the after effect, but still, it is part of it).

Is a much easier way to set them to the chosen scale, in this case 1.0, and is already implemented in the development build as a means to get all actors to the same height for animation alignment reasons. ActorRef.SetScale(Scale) resets them to their original.

 

Universal pregnancy stuff is all best left to 3rd party mods using SexLab as a base, I have no intrest in adding it directly to SexLab as it doesn't really fit as a component of a base framework. A pregnancy system other SexLab mods can use as a resource is perfectly suited as an extension of sexlab rather than at it's base. Just like redneck2x is doing with his arousal system, providing a unifying arousal framework for SexLab.

Unfortunately I decided it'd be a good time to also completely redo the Mod Configuration Menu implementation to use MCM 2.0 functions instead and move some stuff around in a big way. The move has proven messy however, as my development build is currently completely unplayable as a result, not going to commit it to Git until I get it running smoothly again under MCM 2.0 with the new script setup. I also really need to sleep however, about to fall asleep at my desk, and am going to have a busy week with my big boy day job, so probably won't get alpha patch and (hopefully) 1.20 proper, out until next weekend when I have the time to get deep into it again.

From what I've seen SetScale(1.0) on an actor who's base is 1.0 and the actor is 0.95, you'll not get 1.0, you get 0.95.  The actor has a height offset (not sure where/how), but the actor gets the scale based off it's base and then modifies it based on it's height alteration.  Was making me wonder why my transformed actors were either getting shorter or taller depending, until I looked into this farther.  Seems I have to add the difference from the base to the actor and set that instead.  So setting it to 1.05 would give the actor 1.0.  Since doing those calculations, I can put that scale back directly and the actor is 100% accurate, plus, if you don't round the number of their scale up, you'll find they'll start to shrink/grow on you.  (Float error in the 3rd digit in, usually winds up as a 7 or 8.  0.95 wound up as 0.947 a lot of the times while I was testing, hence the round up.)

 

As for the framework, I understand that.  The framework you're writing is only for animations and nothing else, I've not looked at anything thats present in it (since I'm waiting for the newest version, patiently, not like you have to have it done in the next minute, 2 minutes from now would be good [kidding]).  When I find help for my scene/interaction work on my two mods that need it, I may be able to say they're complete and would possibly, if any interest comes up, try to design one when the framework is at a formal release of 1.20 (or higher).

Would it be possible to be able block certain sex acts if there is something like a gag or chastity device on one of the participants? Also, how hard would it be to have these items keep the wearer from being satisfied (does performing oral sex satisfy the person giving it) or would that be handled by one of the other mods?

Would it be possible to be able block certain sex acts if there is something like a gag or chastity device on one of the participants? Also, how hard would it be to have these items keep the wearer from being satisfied (does performing oral sex satisfy the person giving it) or would that be handled by one of the other mods?

 

There isn't any "satisfaction" system. Something like that would be handled by a separate mod.

 

For restricting by item, you could hook into the animationstart event, check if the actor has certain items equipped, and if so pick new animations of your choice that doesn't include that them.

Just as we have the equip-able dildos for anal and vaginal sex it would nice to see the recently created equip-able tongues used for the oral sex on females.  That is if we can find the creator of that mod and get permission. 

 

Not sure what mod your talking about, but I could investigate it. I kinda have my doubts it would look very good though.

Here are a couple images, for some phases of a blow job they look right but taking them on and off for other phases would be troublesome.   That's why I was thinking they would work better with oral sex on females.

I second this.  I use the scripted version of tongues that opens the mouth on equip, and several of them look great.  I was going to post a request for an hook to this as well, if that's at all possible.  Maybe SexLab could do the mouth open and we can do away with the scripted version; whichever is best.

 

And just use bugmenot for 4shared.

I am attempting something similar, and did try hooking the AnimationStart event.  But if I check the animation tags (to figure out whether to block it) at that point, and the animation started with foreplay, I generally don't see the tags I care about.  It works OK, if no foreplay is involved.

 

I don't see another AnimationStart when shifting to the main act, nor do I see an AnimationChange event.  Should I be looking for a different event?

 

I did try hooking the StageStart event, and that detected the conditions just fine - but calling controller.EndAnimation(quick=true) at that point doesn't seem to work cleanly (whereas it does work, if the original animation triggered the blocking check).
