Had teleporting and Collision issues with 1.15b, I couldn't fix it even with a clean Skyrim installation, thought I'd try the 1.20 alpha regardless, just in case. Cannot initiate sex whatsoever. When the dialogue ends and the scene is supposed to start, actors just go about their business as usual. Also tried running FNIS just in case besides cleaning, didn't seem to do anything. Do the new scripts break previous mod compatibility or is it some sort of bug? Mostly using Sexlab Submit here, if it's any help.

Post a debug log of a short play session where you attempt to start sex and they don't do anything.

The new scripts will break older mods still using sslBaseThread, this is a planned break however. With 1.10 I announced in the release I'd be removing those functions in 1.20 and provided a replacement functions the mods need to switch to to continue to work. Most mods to my knowledge have made the switch, though some older ones where the author isn't around much anymore may not have been updated yet and will break with 1.20

tried the alpha on a random save, upgraded as per instructions, used several mods, sex does not initiate and after initiation dialogue, actors go about their routine, or in the case of one specific mod, follow me endlessly. Either way, no sex is starting. I only tested this away from beds, as the bed dialogue always showed up and could prompt sex to start, but only after a full clean with no save and reload after initiation dialogue and before the bed prompt.

Happy to report it's working, at least in actually initiating scenes. I have 3 issues.

1. Either no sex, or no sex after one scene (that's per player character for some reason) (Breezehome, male Imperial, Lydia, no scene initiated).. See Papyrus1.txt for this, it's from the latest play session

2. Female strapon doesn't seem to be working (Breezehome, female Nord, Lydia). See Papyrus0.txt

3. Hands and feet slots don't get re-equipped when the scene ends (Breezehome, female Nord, Lydia). See Papyrus0.txt

Attached the logs because the forum wouldn't let me post them. I had to rename them to .txt from .log because the forum wouldn't upload .log files. Hopefully you can check them out. Just disregard all the leftover scripts from mods that didn't want to get removed.

It's very apparent just glancing at your log that your install of Snow Elf race and/or RaceCombaility is horribly fucked up. This has nothing to do with SexLab directly, but is likely the reason for your character not being able to start.

Did not have that snow elf activated, nor is that save file a snow elf. I'll delete it and reinstall race compatibility then report back to see if it makes a difference.

Not just snow elf, whatever race mod is usuing the script HOR_RaceController has the same exact problem. It doesn't matter if it's active or not either, Skyrim keeps information and data from a mod in your save file forever, regardless of it being active or not.

This mod is working great, thank you.

I was wondering whether you can add new category like foreplay for bed animations, so that only those animations play when the bed is used. It is kind a odd to see a people standing on the bed and doing the animation.

I started a new game from scratch, with the only active mods being SexLab and SexLab Submit (and SkyUI). I got to Riverwood, saved and exited. I started the game, reloaded, tried having sex with two NPCs in a row, and again the second NPC would agree to the sex but no animation would start. The papyrus log for this two minutes is pretty long.

From your debug log with the first sex that did start, it looks like your voices aren't setting properly, that could be a result of whatever mod your using to start the sex is doing something weird with the voices that is breaking them, or maybe something related to your install that is breaking them. Try doing the first working sex attempt with a different mod, such a matchmaker and seeing if the offending lines still show up in your debug log during the sex. The offending repeated lines are

I did some testing and I think those errors from my first sex attempt happen because I disabled all male voices in sexlab but kept a couple of female voices and had the PC voice choice set to random. To test I enabled one male voice, initiated sex, exited the game, checked papyrus. Those lines weren't there (I searched for "warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named")

I then restarted the game from the same save, disabled both male voices in SexLab but kept some female voices on, initiated sex with the same NPC in the same position with the same mod. Searching for those lines in Papyrus gave me 12 results this time.

Not sure if it's an issue that might cause troubles or something that can be ignored.

Whatever mod your using to start sex is either broken, an old version, or you're starting it wrong. You have lines starting sex normally and without problem:

Which would obviously break the scene from happening because the install/reset process puts a stop to it. As evidenced by the fact that the scene tries to start and can't by the very next 2 lines.

This sequence of events is 100% impossible to happen naturally in SexLab itself. Unless you personally are making it happen by doing a rebuild as soon as sex should start, or are using a broken sexlab mod disable all your sexlab mods and test only with matchmaker.

Both your last long and the one before it on post #234 show exactly this. Only the log file in post #234 also proves you're using outdated mods, proven by the various depreciation notices.

Either way, this is unrelated to the alpha, development, or current stable release of SexLab itself and 100% related solely to your install and/or use of outdated mods. This is a development thread, not a technical support thread.

the log though, is misleading, without resetting, I often would see no animation in Skyrim at all. this is what I have been trying to say since I started posting to tech support. I'll start figuring out what's going wrong and if I can't, then I'll move this to technical support.

Well, I took another attempt to verify what I already found. I used SexLab Matchmaker for initiating scenes this time.

1. Each time I perform a rebuild sequence (and loading the clean save), it allows me to initiate one scene again. After that, nothing comes up, so the previous log (Papyrus1, post #279) regarding no sex after the first scene apples. If you need a different log with Matchmaker, I can provide it. Not sure if it's any different, which is why I'm asking, since even with Matchmaker, the same issue applies.

2. Had no issues with TFC toggled on or off so far, but with only one scene to work on per save before rebuilding is making looking for bugs a bit hard.

3. Hands and feet are not re-equipped when the scene ends so my previous posted log regarding that applies (Papyrus0, post #279). I'm not sure about the head slot, but I'd need to be able to initiate more scenes in order to verify that.

4. Just for the record, had no issues so far regarding teleporting and collisions like I had with 1.15b, but I'd need to be able to initiate more scenes to thoroughly test that, too. It'd be nice if that somehow got fixed in this alpha, cause as I recall, I wasn't the only one with this issue.

That's all for now. Waiting for an alpha that allows more scene initiations so I can test this better.

Like the previous poster @bob11, I have finally been able to confirm that whatever is going on with my sexlab, is not a PEBCAK error. I've done a clean install, loaded the vanilla launcher for just long enough to set the video options and immediately began installing sexlab 1.2 and a selection of mods. Was getting a long list of errors related to missing files, but manually installing, running fnis, and then starting a new game.....

It still doesn't work...

And when I look in the logs, everything seems to load ok, no errors right up until it comes to starting the animation. That gives me the following:

Depends. I found out less than a week ago (through a painful process of reinstalling Skyrim and trying to learn more about Wrye Bash and alternatives to NMM that NMM does a good job because Sexlab FW and mods are using the default structure, which makes installation easy. Before that, I was doing it manually with every SexLab mod.

me personally, a little bit of each. Sometimes when I use NMM I get errors in my log telling me things are not installed but when I install them manually, the messages go away. Still doesn't work, but meh. Have had it happen a couple of times, including once with SKYUI. I'll give MO a try but that error log is still bothering me.

I use mo and ill thank never enoght the day i discovered it. No more leftover files. And also overwriting and merging update are a lot more clear. For big mod i keep the update separate (different names) so i can check anytime which file are overwritten and by whom

Ok, update to my testing, With MO I was finally able to get Sexlab working, don't care how, but it does. 1.15b works as it should.

1.2 CTD with Shlongs of skyrim loaded and without it does not fire off animations. At this point, 1.2 is no longer installed and I have no intention of updating unless new features/animations are included since as I've said it finally works. Great framework once it works

Strange, I'm using MO, too, yes, 1.15b seems to work, I haven't encountered teleport issues so far, so that's nice, but 1.20 doesn't CTD on my end, just that after the first scene, I can't initiate anymore, and that seems to be persistent in the saves, unless I rebuild.

@bob11 I wonder how many people that are having persistent problem with sexlab are using the lovers comfort addon with Sexlab romance. I think, and this is purely an assumption based on limited evidence, that the two do not work well together and will eventually break Sexlab altogether. I stumbled onto that accidently and by tommorrow I should know whether or not that is true.

I personally removed romance because it attempts to replace Skyrim's default marriage system. Hopefully that will cause me no more problems...
