Search Alternative to Nexus Mods

Hello,

 

I have a question I `ve seen since nexus mods change their policies, more and more of their very good modders move away. Now the question is where is the alternative? where they went ?

Is the alternative a website or a special discord ? I doesn't found anything viable, only small fractures of content in form of some discord servers.

Like so many other things there is no single right answer. I would suggest that most of the more popular mods that have left Nexus are now freestanding. The authors have established their own site and that is where you have to go to get their mod. I understand that, after what happened on Nexus, they are likely to feel that is the only way to protect their material. However, that does make things harder for the end users (you and me) so I hope that they will eventually find a site on which they can be comfortable and upload their mod(s) there.

If you are looking for specific mods there are threads here on LL called 'request and find' - one for adult mods and one for non-adult mods in the LE section and in the SE section.

Thanks for the tips ? , but I have a little problem I´ve seen when I looked a 6 month old( I think) video of fallout from mxr , a new head mesh mod for fallout4 like high poly of skyrim .

But these mod is already offline in Nexus (I found the version myself).  The Problem is, It shows me that when more more mods get decentralised, how I know that these mods exist? I can search what I know but If I dont know It exist I can t search it. In my opinion this is a mayor problem. I also have the problem when I like to get some korean mods from skyrim. ( I dont defend nexus but spliting up is not the solution(in my opinion) ).

 

( An Idea of mine just comes to my head a few seconds before what if you have a launcher with links to author sites with a picture and an small description and the data comes from a database (just with links, description and link to the picture), that you load yourself so that you can also create your own )  ??

Well you simply don't.

Building your own space for your mods requires you to do a lot more "advertising" to get people to know your mods and space.

Thats why its prettly likely only already known mods / mod authors will get their own space, smaller or more unknown ones will probably never get published / won't publish.

Unless the author finds an acceptable subsitute as host...

I am still wondering why a modder wouldn't simply move over here instead of building an own site? ?

Well, granted: some folks enjoy the work to run a website for just one single mod.

A blog would make more sense.

Reminds me. I noticed that some mods that were taken down, have no info where they moved. Meaning the author did not leave a note. Some did, but i found that even the "Live Another Live" mod did not leave anything. So all you have is Google or what i prefer, DuckDuckGo to research and hope you find something.

There are people who don't want to be associated with a website thats hosting adult content... let alone the more fetish or rape stuff.

:classic_huh: Somehow, that makes sense.

Though I just realized how far distanced I am to people who have an issue with shiny gasmasks but who have no issues with killing NPCs by the dozen, burn them to ashes or beating them up for 10 virtual septims.

Same here, but maybe they see gas masks as beginner drug. Before you know it, the addicts are also wearing shiny catsuits. ?

The technical high-ground. It's like the moral high-ground but more complicated. ?

I don't have decapitation in my game for technical reasons either. If I come across anyone doing decaps they get their esp tweaked. They never do it again after that, I can tell you.
