SLAL Animations help and stuff

For Skyrim LE - SoS and CBBE

I’ve found a lot of sex animations, many of which were made with a female character in mind, and it got me wondering. If I were to use SLAL, would I be able to download and disable some of the like purely female animation stuff like boob grabbing and basically anything vaginal, and only have animations like anal and leg grabbing which could technically fit a male character, and have that be used for a male gay character?

If that wouldn’t work, then can I maybe get a few links for gay sexual animations besides ‘Tweens’ M2M Gay Animations’? I’m not saying that they’re bad, I think they’re good honestly, but I’d like to see some more stuff maybe, and I’m not having the best luck in finding some gay animations, so I’d really appreciate the help. I’m aware that the first part might be a dumb question, but I genuinely don’t know anything when it comes to this kind of stuff, and I’d really like to know what works and doesn’t work. I’m just looking for some assistance, really. Anyway, sorry for any trouble, and thanks ahead of time

Two ways:

  • Disable animations you don't want to see in SL MCM
    • Drawback: the deactivated animations still occupy SL animation slots and count against the max unmodified 500 human animations limit
  • Register only animations from SLAL packs - via the SLAL MCM - you want to have registered in SL
    • Advantage: SL animations from packs don't get registered in SL thus won't play and also don't count against the SL 500 human animation limit.

Oh wow, I actually didn’t know about the 500 animation limit, but it makes sense that it’d be there. Being able to have like 3,000 unique individual animations in an animation loader, would be an absolute nightmare of scrolling through and handpicking I imagine. Still though, It’s unfortunate that disabled animations still take up slots, but it is what it is. Although, 500 slots should be plenty, I can afford to let some be taken up. Second point most definitely saves me from encountering some very annoying issues down the road, so thank you for that.

Um, other possible dumb question, so I apologize  in advance, but I can have other mods that contain animations be outside of SLAL, right? Like I have all of my picked and set animations in the SLAL, and outside of that animation loader, I have a mod that has animations for like cuddling in a bed, but I guess? I don’t have to commit to SLAL entirely, right? Thanks again.

That's only the limit of SL. 500 human and 500 creature SL animations can be registered. You can install more, but SL won't be able to use them.

A workaround is for example:

Sexlab Utility plus rises the limit of SL registered animations.

You still can SLAL registered animations unregister anytime. In that case you will have to reset the SL registry (SL debug tab) to remove unregistered SLAL animations.

Yes!

SLAL is only one way animations can be registered with SL.

Estrus+ and ZAP does that for example.

If it's an idle unrelated to Sexlab it doesn't even need to be registered there.

The next limit you might encounter is the FNIS animation limit tho ^^

That OsmelMC Mod Tweaks seems like one hell of a mod for adding stuff and making stuff even simpler than what SLAL already seems to be. As someone who is new to the whole modding scene, that’s gonna be a huge help for me. The FNIS limit is something I didn’t even know about, so I’ll have to read up on that, as it’d be unfortunate to hit the limit, so I appreciate the FYI with that. Thanks for letting me know that SLAL isn’t a commitment, certainly puts my worries of not being able to have multiple different animations at ease. You’ve helped me out a lot here. Now I know I’m probably gonna sound like a broken record when I say this, but thanks again for the help. I really appreciate it, and cheers, you take care!

I didn't really use it much myself outside of searching for different animations but SL tools has an option to build own animations out of existing ones by chosing stages of different ones... lotta work, but less than making any from scratch and should do what you want...
