VR?  Probably.  I have a VR set which I use from time to time. But I don't have space to do Skyrim stuff in our room - I'd just end up putting my fist through the PC screen.

Skyrim is abysmal in VR. At least in the kit I have.

LOL Yeah, punching the screen, not good. That's funny. You ever try it on a fight sim, that sounds like fun! My B-17 Bomber game would be BADASS!

AGH... for crying out loud! Vortex has NO idea what to do with CBBE (3BBB) now! 2 out 3 conflicts have NO suggested rules so I have to GUESS as to what rules to use!

What are the conflicts?

It could be the Fast HDT-SMP. In the FOMOD you can choose to install adjusted XML files.

Install is this order (throughout the install, they don't have to be together)

Caliente (original CBBE)

CBP-C

Acro748's 3BBB

Faster HDT (if you want it) - I chose no XML files because Acro748 updated his very recently. Faster HDT may catch up - so watch this space.

XPMSSE

This order overwrites the configs and XMLs in the correct order.

Going back to SexlabUtil, I got an answer from the author, Fotogen. He tells me:

LE version is the way it is. Will not change.

Util1 has a custom SKSE LE plugin. LE SKSE plugins do not work on SE. 32bit vs 64bit.

For SE, I made Triggers. It serves the same purpose as Util1.

Some say, that Triggers(SE mod) actually works on LE. But as I don't have Skyrim LE anymore, so I can't confirm it.

There's our definitive answer!

XPMSSE last. I have it installed already. Other mods installed already need it in 1st. It is looking an awful lot like I have to go alll the way back with my install.

Your CBBE/Faster conflicts are fine. If you tell them to overwrite in the order I gave you above then you're good to go. All the conflicts are is the txt and xml files overwriting each other which is actually what we need them to do to get our load order right. LOOT can't handle such fine positioning because there are loads of people with different body load outs.

I trust LOOT with 90% of my load out but, sometimes, it makes a weird decision. I feel XPMSSE is its worst.  Pretty much every author says XPMSSE after all the skeleton-affecting mods.

I always find its safe to tell XPMSSE to overwrite 3BBB and I therefore usually force it to overwrite 3BBB. the other mods tend to fall into place no problem.

With LOOT think of it as a deck of cards. Top of the deck is Skyrim. Bottom of the deck is lighting mods and Bashed Patch.

To get the "XPMSSE card" placed where you want it, you have to tell LOOT to place the "XPMSSE card" after the "3BBB card".

LOOT positions most of the cards where we want them in the deck. If I want a card moved, I find a handy mod just before (higher in the deck) the position I want to move the card to, and make a rule saying "Put This Hard After That Card". Next run of LOOT, in it goes. (well, in theory...lol)

I'm wondering if you have "NMM Disease"? ?  Vortex is not like NMM, you don't need to reinstall mods to get the right order. You don't need to peel / remove mods back. Vortex allows you to move the cards around the install deck.

Just leave your mods where they are in your "deck of cards", run LOOT (I think in Vortex you have to "Deploy" which I guess is the same as me running LOOT in MO2), and see where they end up. Then do your special card placements. Run Deploy again and check they fall into the right place. If not, readjust your rules.

As I said, LOOT doesn't get fine-grained stuff like individual body or patch load-outs so we have to make adjustments. That's why LOOT may not understand the right load order for some things.

Hope this makes sense?

3BBB isn't conflicting with XMPSSE right now, so that's a good thing. Roger that on the rest. I like your analogy of a card deck, I see that in my mind's eye, sometimes. Other times a wedding cake, domino's (they fall easy), pages in a book (?) sometimes. NMM disease, yes, I think so. Installing after still seems like the thing to do to get them in right. I know in NMM last installed overwrites the one before, that is still in my head.

No, I don't think Deploy and LOOT are the same at all. They are in fact 2 different functions. Deploying occurs when the mod is installed, before FNIS "updates animations". LOOT has to be run manually from the Vortex\dashboard\tools menu after man-run FNIS and SSEEdit.

That's the way I do it. Install starts deploying and auto-run FNIS. Wait to finish, resolve conflicts when they come up. Go to dashboard, run FNIS, run SSEEdit and finish with LOOT. Rinse and repeat.
