OSA\Osex and SexLab\LoversLab installs

I have heard Vortex does not clean up.  Can you get to the actual Windows folders to clean them out?  I thought Vortex Dashboard had a way of cleaning stuff up?

It's frustrating. It sounds like Vortex is holding stuff in a cache or an index. Perhaps the Vortex pages I sent links to will have some answers?

I was hoping to wrap up my game but I just found LOOT put all my grass mods in the wrong order. No wonder the ground looks so...grassless.

Still a ways to go!

Good luck on yours. See if you can fix rather than re-do from scratch. Surely Vortex can't be that crap?

Windows folders? Are you talking about the folders in C:\users... etc, etc. . Can you be just a little more specific. Vortex is installed on my C:\ drive under Blacktree Gaming(?). Don't get that confused with the Vortex mods folder on my E:\ drive. I'm having a hard time keeping that one straight. Moving this, changing that, jeez Louise!

I'm trying REALLY hard not to swear too much, but DAMNIT! I've started to peel it back.

It'll be wherever your mods are stored.  I suppose refreshing Vortex over the old one might clear out indexes and caches of the mod list.  I am surprised the program is so tangled up. Maybe someone on the Vortex Q&A might have answers?

I noticed this correspondence:  https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/7086301-disable-mods-not-working-correctly/

"Also, if you disable a plugin (esp) in the plugins tab in Vortex, it doesn't disable things like the texture and mesh files etc, for that, you'd have to disable the MOD on the mod tab."

Does that sound like the problem you're having? Because that process would leave DLL files and other crap behind, like you experienced.

Yes, it does. I'll check it out. You think I should stop my peel back? The "contamination" goes pretty deep, all the way to my HDT mods. Maybe "short circuit" is a better description?

Ok, that first link. Not the same problem. That guy who needed help didn't understand the difference between disabling and uninstalling. At least that is what I saw reading it. Gonna try the second one. I'll be back. They did touch a little on leaving files behind but the guy giving the help thinks Vortex doesn't leave files behind. That is the fault of the installer\modder. Ummm... not from what I'm seeing. I know I screw this stuff up, but to lay EVERY problem encountered on the installer\modder's shoulders isn't quite right. Case in point, "Live Action". We both know what happened there.

Not to mention all of the other stuff we have encountered together in the past... 2 months(?). Anim count difference. Missnaming of mods (wda?). HighPolyHeads too. It's Vortex name is "For Shadow I Shall SIMP", WTF? Vortex still has bugs as far as I'm concerned.

Looks like it. Perhaps for peace of mind it might be easier to peel back until the bugs have gone. But it does sound to me like Vortex is not removing stuff when it is supposed to.

I can't account for its behavior, though.

Regarding that "Live Action" mod. The author admitted his scripts are broken in v3.2. He's now released 3.3 which is supposed to work. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

Well, you're not alone. I read this!  https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/psyvns/could_any_good_soul_explain_to_me_the_for_shadow/

All I can do is shrug. Must be a mod author's idea of a joke. I never seen that before with MO2!

Just off to watch garbage TV for a break. I've had it to here with grass mods but they are all in and working at last. I even got grass now!

I'll call by frequently to keep up to date.

Yeah... I have no idea what was going on with the guy in the second link. Those problems are not quite what I have experienced, again the disabling vs. uninstalling confusion on his part, I think(?). Strange stuff that.

Say... Are you signed in on Reddit? Does it cost anything to sign up? I want to respond to those post's, but I'm skiddish. New sites make me nervous.

I have a Reddit account. It's free and there's loads of stuff on the site including Skyrim boards. Quite a few of the modders are on there. Worth signing up and no, no problems from it. Lots and lots AND lots of interesting stuff on the site.  Another site I use is Quora, and I get random updates from them which make for interesting daily reading.

Blaze is looking awesome!  You really have a fantastic character to (ahem) play with!

I can't quite see the figurine picture as my eyesight is so crap...is that Warhammer?  (I really, really need to go back to my optician but this Covid thing has wrecked appointments.)   I have to confess I know nothing about Warhammer. I also have to confess I can't even see the corner of my screen ?

Monty Python and  Benny Hill? That takes me back. I was (and am) a great Benny Hill fan. That guy was a genius. Monty Python is fun too - "No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition!"  And I assume you watched the "Life of Brian"?  The "Biggus Dickus" sketch creases me up every time I see it.  Classic stuff.

Yes, I am a 40k player and model builder. I have been building models, primarily 1\35 th scale, since I was 4 years old. Long time hobby to treat my PTSD and it's fun to me. just wanted to show off a little. I finally figured out how to do the screenshot\paint routine. That's how I got the pic. Thanks again for that.

Finding just the right color for the freckles was a chore. Had to do an extreme close-up of the face to do it right. They are on the hands, feet and body too.

"Life of Brian": It is MY movie after all. 1 of my all time favorites without a doubt. "Biggus Dickus", GREAT stuff!

My eyes are going to crap as well. Took me 6 month's to get a new pair from the V.A, and 3 days to loose a screw holding the left lens in. No glasses... yet. I need 'em for my models.

So that was Warcraft?

I was a keen model builder when young. The Airfix and Revell kits. I can't do it now as I have bad long sight. My glasses are enough for reading but not concentrating on model detail.

I thought about taking it up again. I might do yet.  The last I built was a radio controlled helicopter but it was a disaster. The thing crashed.

Life of Brian...lol  do you remember the scene where the Centurion (John Cleese) made Brian write out his Romans Go Home graffiti 100 times? Gods I'm going to be remembering that film all night, now!

I have one of those large round magnifying lights. Office lamp I think. I got it at an office supply store (Staples). Ball park, 80 dollars American. More in lbs. (Euro's?) I think. Makes 2 inch tall men 3-4 inches in the magnifying glass. Real handy. That only works with the glasses on, blurry otherwise. I have a remote-control submarine, goes under and comes back up too, allegedly! it's 90% finished, I don't have the money to buy the electronics needed, pricey! I've done Revell and Airfix (the better of the 2), Tamiya (Japns), Academy (Korea) and the best I have ever seen, AFV (China). A hell of a lot of detail in those.
